My Rockbros sunglasses came with an insert. You'd have to have lenses made and installed, but if you want a cheap option that could be it.

Positive Feedback

Pairs that have a bridge that rises up would make contact with my helmets/brow and encourage sweat to run down the lenses.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Comfortable fit with prescription inserts
My Rockbros sunglasses came with an insert. You'd have to have lenses made and installed, but if you want a cheap option that could be it.
Lightweight design for comfort during long use
The photochromics don't get dark enough for a bright day, but I'm a mtb rider so not really a problem in the woods.
Provides UV protection with shatterproof lenses
It's just that cheaper options still protect you from harmful UV spectrums while costing immensely less.
Effective photochromic transition
the transition photochromic is real deal
New Tifosi Sledge look pretty sweet at $69.95 with interchangeable lenses
It would be nice to have only 1 pair of glasses which are good in the dark and sunny weather
Photochromics are game-changers, starting with the road glare
Effective tint transition for varying light conditions
They have been a game changing transition from regular polarized sunglasses by allowing just the right amount of tint while giving massive coverage from flying mud and debris.
Effective UV protection
I have these and really like them.
Photochromic lenses are beneficial for commuting
If you're commuting, then photochromic are a godsend, you won't necessarily have an option to always ride in good light, I commute with them and I've happily ridden in pitch black conditions outside cities with photochromic (dhb and Oakley lenses).
Then photochromic will be the answer you need. I tend to get the opposite (light going, dark returning) for about 6 months of the year.
Useful for varying light conditions during rides
They make it easy to see in all conditions, never too dark and never too bright.
Convenient for long rides without needing to adjust glasses
They are all I use. I can head out before sunrise for a 5 or 6 hour ride and not need to think about them again.
Enjoyable experience with photochromic sunglasses
I quite been enjoying Rock Bros oversized polarized sunglasses and photochromic sunglasses.
Great value for the price
many have replacement lenses meaning the temples and nose bridge often last for 3-5 lens changes.
Love my tifosi glasses. Think I got them for $75-$80 last year with three pairs of swappable lenses.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Compatibility issues with certain helmets
Pairs that have a bridge that rises up would make contact with my helmets/brow and encourage sweat to run down the lenses.
Comparatively weaker performance than higher-end brands
Decathlon ones didn't work at all. Period.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
General discussion on photochromic sunglasses
I haven’t even tried the other lenses that came with, the photochromatic one is do-it-all enough for me.
Discussion on preferences for lens color and types
They shift from amber to copper, which brings out green and brown tones and brightens up my view.
Discussion on light transition effectiveness
Was wondering if they get light enough? Dark enough?
If you ride in changing light conditions, they are fantastic but you’re going to have to decide whether you need/one that go from light tint to dark tint or ones that go from totally clear to medium tint
Discussion on the need for UV protection and fog resistance in glasses
Sunglasses Recommendations? Hi, does anyone know of glasses (it's fine if they're not cycling-specific) which have:
if you can save up for the more expensive one with changeable lenses because they normally have a stronger build.
I felt kind of ridiculous paying $250 for prescription sunglasses, but I’ve worn them on about 400 rides the past two years and they have been worth every penny.
Cheap is the way to go with bike sunglasses, lost/fall off your face/etc.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
General chatter about cycling sunglasses
Are expensive cycling sunglasses worth it? I'm currently using cheap Decathlon cycling sunglasses with swappable lenses from 5+ years ago.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Other brands mentioned for comparison
They cost an arm and a leg.
I don’t think goggles are worth it without a full face helmet, but you do you, friend
Great bang for the buck
I already had them and use them for every day wear anyway.
Discussion about anti-fog solutions
Anti fog helps to see, but it also makes for condensation on the lenses.
Best thing ever, even use em for yard work.
Less to no fog with vented lenses and riding fast/no standing around.
Discussion about prescription options in sports glasses
I love the shape and how they sit further off your face so they don’t fog as easily.
Check out ROKA. You can have prescription sports glasses.
I’ve been thinking about getting a pair of Rokas.
Discussion about budget options for cycling glasses
Got whacked an absolute whopper today in the eye by a blue bottle.
Discussion on prescription options in sports glasses
Not a fan on contacts hence the post? But after researching on my own just as confused and it’s a lot money to spend on something I might get wrong:)
I’ve debated it quite a bit but decided in the end against it. I’m happy to pay the up front cost, but knowing my eyes will likely get worse and I’ll need to replace every few years was the dealbreaker.
Mine are from Zenni Optical, have foam to keep wind out and are affordable.
Seems like there’s a billion options.
Chatter about custom glasses costs and alternatives
Just slap on some cheap shades to it you find at walmart or w/e.
Discussion on budget options for cycling sunglasses
I seem to constantly lose sunglasses and I really hate shelling out cash for another pair but I find them essential to cycling in Kansas.
They’ll be like $5 and fit your face in a similar way.
Mention of Tifosi as a comparable brand
Second for Tifosi, I have several pairs and they are great.
Tifosi is a brand where most styles are less than $100 and get good reviews.
General chatter about experiences with other brands
I have trifosi photochromic glasses (don't remember which ones) and I've been very happy with them.
Comparison with other brands like Tifosi for budget options
I’ve got a few pairs of Carhartt ones that cost me like $4 each.
Mine have the "Enliven" lenses which are great with a great range of light conditions.
Discussion about budget-friendly options for cycling sunglasses
Budget sunglasses? What's a decent/good budget pair of sunglasses?
I second the safety glasses! I’ve been using them for years.
Not specifically made for mtb but they don’t move and are very comfortable.
General discussion on preferences for photochromic glasses
They have some that don’t get fully clear but get darker and some that start fully clear, but don’t get as dark as regular sunglasses.
They are fine for my morning rides before the sun comes up - I have no issues seeing on our local bike trail on the way to work with my headlight.
The brownish tones really brighten everything up, making even overcast days enjoyable.
I always bought the lightest ones because I wore them day or night.
Discussion on cheaper alternatives to expensive brands
they're more comfortable, they stay in place really well, and they have full coverage without getting in the way.
Discussion about cycling sunglasses budget options
Best Cheap Cycling Sunglasses? What are some good cycling sunglasses under $50? I want to get a pair of Oakley Sutro but they're too expensive to use them for outdoor sports.
Tifosi have some models right at your $50 limit.
If you want oakley sutros, get them. They won't break from you riding outdoors with them. I've had a pair for 4 years now, no problem.
NRC UV400’s on Ali express is the best 16 dollars I have ever spent.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on goggles not being worth it without a full face helmet
The hot goggles are the worst part of wearing a full face IMO.
General chatter about glasses fogging up
I have yet to find glasses that don't fog up when I'm exerting myself in higher temps/humidity.
They will all fog up, but you want airflow to prevent it.
I take my glasses off and put them behind my helmet, so lens facing backwards and the ear part is still on top of my ears.
Discussion on sunglasses durability and need for spares
Eyewear never lasts forever.
Discussion on cycling sunglasses alternatives
Share your experience with me. Let me know if there is a better pair on the market for around the same price.
I'm fond of buying inexpensive, UV blocking, safety sun glasses available at your local hardware store.
This is the way. Probably better quality and a fraction of the cost.
they work quite well.
