Snoop's Take

OPI Original Nail Polish Remover is a 3.7 fl oz bottle designed to sweep away nail lacquer while keeping cuticles soft and nails nourished. It uses a mild acetone formula enriched with aloe vera that targets even the darkest shades with a gentle touch. Consumers are split in their reviews, with some raving about the non-drying experience. One reviewer noted, “I was just going to buy some more from Ulta, but I thought I’d see if there was anything spectacular out there.” While many applaud its gentle formula and nail-strengthening capabilities, others bemoan issues like difficulty in removal and overpricing. The community’s debate clearly outlines that what works for one may not work for another. Overall, considering the passionate endorsements alongside the equally fervent criticisms, this product stands as a balanced option in its category. If you value a gentle, non-drying formula and can overlook potential removal issues, it is worth a try, but expect to encounter mixed results in practice.

Gentle and non-drying formula
I was just going to buy some more from Ulta, but I thought I’d see if there was anything spectacular out there.
I love the zoya plus remover, it works so well without drying.
It takes me what feels like forever to remove my nail polish.
Nail Envy strengthens nails
opi's natural nails has been the best base coat to prevent bending and breaking for me.
Repair mode effectively flattens peeling nails
I really like repair mode a lot, when I have peeling layers of my nails, it flattens out and stays on the nail really well.

Difficult to remove OPI Nail Envy polish
I've literally never had more trouble removing a product like I've had with nail envy.
I was having issues taking it off even by soaking my nails in a small bowl of pure acetone.
It's just overpriced 🥲 opi nail repair mode is also awesome!
Polish remover isn’t working.
Nail Envy did not work for some users
How would you compare Opi Nail Envy and Hard as Hoof nail strengthener? I have a container of hard a
Nail Envy is counterproductive for weak nails
If you have weak or brittle nails that break or peel frequently, a strengthener (like Nail Envy) is generally counterproductive...they make your nails too hard, where they break easier.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about OPI product lines and their differences
I wore my infinite shine and it lasted for a week without chipping.
I think it's great for busy salons, but I find my personal collection of Infinite shine has gone bad before I used it all.
How many days of wear can I expect from both?
Discussion about differences between Nail Envy and regular nail polish
Trying to figure out if it actually is worth the money or not.
Discussion on quick-dry top coats
Quick dry top coat is the answer. Seriously.
I can do all 10 nails in 30 minutes and not smudge them.
Have you tried a quick dry top coat like seche vite?
Preference for acetone over non-acetone removers
Acetone, hands down.
Acetone. People always comment about how drying it can be but it's nothing a little lotion or cuticle oil can't remedy.
I like acetone since it gets rid of any oil on my nails to leave a clean base to repaint.
Discussion about basecoat and nail polish remover usage
What kind of basecoat and nail polish remover are you using?

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about layering OPI products
Do I need to clean my nail with polish remover at any point or just keep layering?
Nail Envy and OPI Repair Mode should NOT be used together.
That is beyond helpful thank you so so much.
Discussion on the convenience of nail polish remover pens
Think cuticle pens but with nail polish remover in them… Would that make cleanup easier?
Definitely handy for travel etc or if you'd worry about spilling remover, but not really cost effective (for me)
I must have been under a rock!!!! I’m on Amazon looking now and you can buy a set and fill (and refill) yourself 😳
It is really handy for a few touchups but it doesn't last long enough.
Discussion on removal techniques for nail polish
This tends to work much better than scrubbing it off.
But I fear that if I use clips it'll get even worse and it'll dry my nails far too much.
Are you using peely base or anything too?
Discussion about removal techniques for nail polish
I remove my polish using [pure acetone & manicure clips](https://www.reddit.com/user/juleznailedithe
I used to hate removal but not anymore.
I don’t know why I waited so long, they were $5 and save so much time and effort.
Be careful with pure acetone. It was very bad for my nails.
Discussion on using nail polish remover pens
I can smell remover made in the pen.
You should def clean as you go. 👍
I’ve waited befit until dry and it’s really tough to cut through.
I learned my lesson. Next time I will leave it off as I go.
Anticipation for new product usage
I will try my best to post a comment after using it twice a day for 6 days to let you know what my thoughts are.
Suggestion to use ice water to dry nails faster
Idk the science but I do it every time and it’s been a savior for me.
Discussion about nail polish thinner alternatives
You do not wanna use nail polish remover. Acetone is meant to eat away at nail polish, and adding it into your polish will do just that.
The point of thinner is to add back in the ingredients that evaporated quickly.
Be careful which thinner you add. Some destroy glitter/holo.
Definitely not polish remover!

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison to other brands and products
It’s my favorite remover.
It removes everything pretty much effortlessly.
If you only remove your nail polish every week or every other week, then the damage that acetone is pretty much inconsequential.
It’s ideal for removing polish, glitter, and nail glue fast.
Comment on needing a new bottle of polish remover
Oh dear. I am nearly done with the bottle.
Comparison between OPI Nail Envy and Hard As Hoof
Something I don't see mentioned enough is how superior acetone is compared to 'nail polish remover,' which is essentially water with a splash of acetone.
Finding cheaper alternatives to Nail Envy
Also $10usd cheaper. The ORLY nail defense helped my nails so much!
Preference for gel polish over regular nail polish
I REFUUUUSE to use regular nail polish for this exact reason.
Comparison of different nail polish removers
Nothing beats it.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on effectiveness of non-acetone removers
But I swear it's like using water. How can they even sell it?
Actually, it’s not better for your nails because it takes longer to remove the polish it stays on your nail longer.
Zoya’s purple polish remover changed the game for me.
For glitters I have to use the Cutex Ultra-Powerful remover.
Discussion on Nail Envy products
I will say the reputation is awesome because nail envy was recommended by a teacher 17 years ago.
Nail Envy is their line of strengthening treatments.
is there really a difference between the Nail Envy found in most stores and the Nail Envy with the green label?
Advice against using acetone to thin polishes
do not use acetone in your polishes, that can ruin them.
