Snoop's Take

The Outdoor Products Tadpole Hydration Pack is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who need a reliable and portable hydration solution. With a capacity of 3.5L and a 1.5L reservoir included, it ensures you stay hydrated while enjoying your adventures. Consumer feedback reveals a mix of satisfaction and concerns; many appreciate its affordability and durability for casual use, with one user stating, "Yes it was cheap, yes it still worked well." However, some have noted issues, particularly with the nozzle leaking after short use and concerns about seam durability, especially after exposure to alcohol during activities like cabrewing. Overall, while the Tadpole Hydration Pack offers great value for casual outdoor activities, potential buyers should be aware of its limitations and consider if it meets their specific needs. It is recommended for those looking for an economical option but may not hold up for more demanding outdoor conditions.

Yes it was cheap, yes it still worked well, no I didn't do any hardcore wilderness backpacking with it.

Positive Feedback

My friends tried this a couple years back for cabrewing. They said it lasted the trip, but ate away at the seams and was leaking by the time they got home.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Durable for casual use
Yes it was cheap, yes it still worked well, no I didn't do any hardcore wilderness backpacking with it.
I bought mine on sale from Campmor thinking that I could replace it 2 or 3 times for what I paid for it before I reached the prices of other "better" packs.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Alcohol can damage hydration pack seams
My friends tried this a couple years back for cabrewing. They said it lasted the trip, but ate away at the seams and was leaking by the time they got home.
Nozzle leaks after short use
the hose that sucks.
Perceived low quality due to Walmart association
They're crap. Walmart sells them and they're the pack of choice for homeless people in my city.
It's Walmart. They make tons of stuff for cheap, which means the craftsmanship is cheap, and then the price at the end is cheap, but you get what you pay for - cheap.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about hydration pack features
What is the absolute best (including coolest looking) hydration pack? when i was on POC's site i peeped their hydration pack which I had never seen.
Have you ever tried running in this pack? I'm looking for something that is good for both
Ideally I'd like something that allows me to hike up to ~20 miles at a stretch w/o refill if possible.
I recently got an Osprey hydration pack and it's fantastic. It's durable, comfortable, and holds enough water for long hikes.
Discussion about hydration bladder preferences
Most of them have reviews that are all over the place, from 5 stars to this is the leakiest worst tasting piece of garbage ever.
I highly recommend getting 3L instead of smaller. You'll probably want it, and it's barely any bigger.
The Hydrapak brand has been the most resilient of the brands I've used.
I'd recommend 3L as you'll don't need to always fill it to max.
Discussion about hydration pack benefits
I find that I drink more water and more consistently throughout the hike with the hydration pack since it’s right there.
General chatter about hydration pack features
Newbie here... Need advice for a hydration pack vs. a regular pack as a 20-25L daypack. Hi everyone!
Get a pack you like and put the hydration system in yourself. This lets you figure out what kind of system you like, and you can move it between packs as you inevitably collect them.
Any recommendations for a pack with a place for an internal bladder? It I remember right, the Talon
I have the Gregory Zulu 30 and I absolutely love it. Internal hydration option and works as a very comfortable day pack of needed.
Comments on other Outdoor Products backpacks
Cheap can be functional too.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about pack usage beyond camping trips
It creates so many opportunities for Sims to actually *do stuff together* which in my opinion, we don't have nearly enough of.
I like it, I like looking for collectables, fishing, gardening and taking photos.
In my decades challenge, I got into the herbalist skill in the early decades.
It's not an awful pack, but I think it has way too much potential to not get a refresh.

Discussion about hydration pack installation tips
Outdoor Backpack 45l Hydration System Hi there, has anyone managed to properly install a hydration system bladder in the bladder pouch? I have no clue how to wire the hose in order to be still able to open the back access of the pack... thanks
If you’re carrying camera gear, I’d recommend putting the bladder in the front dump pocket. This will let you open the back but also keep any leaking water from your electronics.
Lay flat open. Feed the hose through the bottom where the water drop symbol is. Then, feed up the side loops ( Gray for the black bag) then feed out.
General discussion about value for money
They are pretty inexpensive.
You will thank yourself for spending just a bit more on a good branded pack.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Mixing hydration with alcohol is a popular discussion
Hydration pack and alcohol I will be floating the Guadeloupe next weekend and want to fill my hydration pack with alcohol and have 2 questions
You could go with a simple mix of Mio energy + water + vodka. Hydration, energy, and booze all in one.
I've never tried this, so it's purely a guess, but I'm thinking the taste would leach into the pack and you'd be eternally tasting whatever you put in it even if you clean it really well.
