Snoop's Take

The SAMSUNG 65-Inch Class OLED 4K S90D Series HDR+ Smart TV is a state-of-the-art home entertainment device that delivers vivid OLED visuals, 4K clarity, and immersive sound through Dolby Atmos. It transforms everyday viewing into a cinematic experience by dynamically upscaling content and optimizing picture detail to near perfection. Consumer sentiment is a mixed bag: while many users rave about its excellent glare handling and superior panel quality – one even noted, “Absolutely stunning. The S90D is best TV I’ve ever had.” – others are quick to point out critical oversights like the absence of Dolby Vision, with some bluntly stating “No DV means no buy from me.” Several critiques target its opaque specifications and laggy smart TV interface, emphasizing that what shines in picture quality isn’t as stellar in system performance. In summary, the TV earns high marks for its OLED-driven picture and robust gaming and streaming features, but potential buyers should weigh its impressive visuals against notable drawbacks like missing Dolby Vision and variable interface performance. For users prioritizing cinematic picture quality and advanced upscaling, it’s recommended, though those wanting a fully rounded smart TV experience might need to look elsewhere.

This TV has zero issues. I am just writing this to confirm how well the matte finish works in contrast to those overzealous youtubers trying to make money over nothing.

If only Samsung would support DV.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Excellent glare handling
This TV has zero issues. I am just writing this to confirm how well the matte finish works in contrast to those overzealous youtubers trying to make money over nothing.
the anti-glare tech looks really intriguing.
Outstanding picture quality and performance
Absolutely stunning. The S90D is best TV I’ve ever had.
Absolutely love it.
it's amazing 👏
the S90D performed the best overall.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Lack of Dolby Vision support
If only Samsung would support DV.
Samsung OLED experience, buyer beware.
No DV means no buy from me.
Samsung TVs do not have Dolby Vision.
Opaque product specifications (unclear OLED type)
I’ll never buy another Samsung TV.
Concerns about burn-in reliability
They're claiming the burn-in issues with QD-OLED are mostly fixed but I'm still dubious.
Inferior performance compared to competitors
I wanted to like the samsung but the bravia 8 was a clear winner for me.
Poor system performance and build quality
Only the panel technology worth on Samsung. Bad QC,Tizen os,bad processing, Average audio.
General dissatisfaction with Samsung S90D
Never again.

Potential burn‑in risk during static content (e.g. news or sports)
My main concern is how problematic OLEDs and burn in can be.
Regional panel type variations (WOLED vs QD‑OLED)
Just be wary since the S90D 55 outside of North America is often a WOLED panel and if that is the case it is not worth your money.
Laggy smart TV user interface
this tv looks great, but it has the poorest attempt at a UI I’ve ever fucking seen.
Just get a Google TV Streamer 4K or an Apple TV.
Never had these issues with my tv.
the panel looks absolutely brilliant so I’ll take the hit with the lag.
Potential burn‑in risk
Get a G4 with 5 year warranty or add 3 year extension if you buy this size Samsung comes with 12 months or 2 years.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Debate on OLED authenticity and manufacturing origins
QD-OLED objectively provides a brighter image than W-OLED (LGs panel technology), and most would agree QD-OLED is a superior technology out-the-box.
They are nice panels I have one on my LG c1 which is heavily used for gaming with 0 burn in to date and it’s coming up on 2 years.
Main use gaming.
Samsung and Sony both use LG WOLED and Samsung QD Oled panels in their TV’s.
General discussion on OLED TV sizes and review gaps
Is the C4 worth $1k+ more even if you have the money?
I don’t care for Samsung for a number of reasons so I haven’t looked into theirs.
If you're looking at an 83" OLED, I would really only consider LG as you know that the 55/65/77" model will perform similarly.
83 inch models cost a lot of money for a nice crowd simple as that.
Dolby Vision ceiling discussion
Wow. We finally hit the Dolby vision ceiling.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparisons between QD-OLED and WOLED performance
the QD-OLED is a no brainer. The color saturation is my favorite part of my QD oled panels.
If in a light-controlled room, go QD-OLED. It’s simply better overall.
the newer Samsung S95C OLED appears far more resilient.
I don’t think anything really beats QD OLED picture quality wise, but keep in mind, I personally expected eye strain with them.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about overall Samsung product reliability
Samsung is known for horrible reliability on literally all of their products.
Concerns with non-Samsung TV reliability
when that's returned, I was looking into the LG 77" Class B4 Series OLED or maybe a Samsung Qled?
Plus, you can't go wrong with Samsung, LG, or Sony.
Risks with third‑party seller listings
I've been looking at this exact model for the 55" elsewhere, and this is right around the price point I was hoping to get it for.
Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Exaggerated brightness claims for future panels
