Snoop's Take

The SPIbelt Large Pocket Running Belt is designed to securely hold your phone, keys, and other small personal items while you run, walk, hike, or travel. With its expandable, low-profile pocket, it accommodates larger phones and essentials without bouncing or chafing during activity. Consumers appreciate the SPIbelt for its slim design and adjustable fit, with many stating it is "the most comfortable and stable" option for carrying personal items. Users have highlighted its comfort during long runs, with comments like "it doesn't chafe" and "highly recommended, comfy, and no bounce." However, some have noted that it can lose elasticity over time and may be uncomfortable if not positioned correctly. Overall, the SPIbelt Large Pocket Running Belt is highly recommended within its category for those seeking a reliable and comfortable way to carry essentials during physical activities, despite some minor drawbacks noted in user feedback.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Recommended for carrying phone and music while running
If you don't need to carry much, I'd recommend the Spibelt!
The Flip Belt I heard is supposed overcome that issue so I can dance without having to worry about holding it down or slapping against me, but I feel like it will be limited in space, and won't have that smuggle compartment.
Slim design and adjustable fit
Doesn't look like it fits as much stuff as a Flipbelt, but it holds enough for me.
It can be kind of annoying to get larger things in and out of the belt just because of how tight it fits.
Recommended for carrying items securely while running
Have had no trouble so far.
Adjustable fit for different body types
the waist belt is extremely comfortable, there are plenty of sizes to choose from and it stays put with zero bounce or chafe.
I have a spibelt and I like it.
Recommended for carrying phone and personal items securely while running
I find this belt the most comfortable and stable (as long as you get the correct size) and even if I wear it under my shirt (directly on skin) haven’t had any issues with chaffing.
I get that, I run slow at 9:15 miles
SPI Belt
I loved it. It fit pretty perfectly in the belt with minimal bounce.
Comfortable for long runs
It doesn't chafe! I live in Phoenix so I have to have a vest in the summer, but I use a belt the rest of the year and tuck a bottle in it.
Do you find running in a vest in those temperatures to be comfortable?
Recommended for carrying phone and keys during short runs
It’s very comfortable and I am used to it and wore it for the actual marathon.
Doesn't bounce during long runs
Doesnt need to hold hydration, but it *DOES* need to stay in place around my hips.
Spy belt!! Very cheap and doesn’t bounce at all on long runs.
Great adjustability and soft material
The adjustability is great, and the material is super soft (I’ve had chafing issues with other brands)
Highly recommended for comfort and no bounce
The Spibelt works great, been running with it for years. Highly recommend, comfy, and no bounce.
Zero bounce. I have an iphone 12 and it fits in both the original regular sized pocket as well as the new large pocket size.
Doesn't slip or bounce when worn correctly
the belt doesn't slip on me when I have it on my hip (kinda where my pants sit) but I don't usually carry my phone or other crap when I run, just a few gels to get me through.
Recommended for carrying phone and gels
I find myself tightening it all the way and it still not feeling secure enough/ my phone ends up bouncing all around.
Offers a flat and low-profile design
Recommendations for a flat money belt/pouch? Hello, I’m looking for a pouch to store some small, fla
Seconded. I have this and it’s awesome. Zero bulk.
Includes a secure zipper for belongings
I’ve had this belt for 10 years and it’s still in perfect condition with nearly daily use!

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Loses elasticity over time
It works alright, but after a few months of use it loses its elasticity.
Bouncy and noisy during use
Flip belt. Run with a Fanny pack and you become the default carrier for everything. Phones, debit cards, inhalers..
Can rub against skin causing discomfort
FLIP BELT!!! FLIP BELT!!!
I think belts work better for people who are fairly “straight” through the torso.
Personally, I cannot stand running belts. Don’t like feeling something on my hips/waist while running.
Bouncy and uncomfortable during use
It's super comfortable, it doesn't bounce.
I think for couple of km/mi runs these are mostly overkill (unless you live in very hot place and need plenty of water).
Can flap around during use
the SPI belt I tried flapped around so much, that I ended up sticking it in the waistband of my pants, which just created more problems.
Can be uncomfortable if not positioned correctly
Any belt worn around the hips is going to want to slide up to the narrowest part of your waist.
Not effective when fully loaded for long runs
no belt will work well when fully 'loaded' for a half of full marathon.
Can bounce and become uncomfortable during use
My last run I somehow positioned it where it kept ~falling~ shooting out of my belt and the concrete scratched a hole in it.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about using hydration vests instead of belts
I really prefer a vest.
I wear an Osprey Dyna vest. I don't even like a spibelt around my waist with just keys/id/phone.
Discussion about preferences for hydration vests vs belts
Choosing My First Running Belt I've been running for awhile, but would like to get into 8-10+ mile runs to work up to a half-marathon.
I much prefer a vest to a belt for hydration.
Vest is all around more comfortable and convenient for me.
This was great as it also allows you to put in some fuel for the longer runs in some of the smaller pockets.
Discussion about preferences for other running belts
I didn’t go with the F&F due to several reviews and comments stating that it bounces too much when loaded.
Preference for waist belts over armbands
I like having all my stuff I carry with me closer to my center of mass - it's way more comfortable for me.
I prefer a waist belt since there are tons of models that will hold a water bottle + snacks, but that storage isn't needed for shorter runs.
I assume a waist belt would be better in that regard.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

Mention of other products like Naked Running Band
The belt you want is a [Naked Running Band] Nothing else compares.
Those old-fashioned holster belts with hard bottles are out of fashion for a reason.
Comments on the suitability for travel versus exercise
while I can see how it’s well suited to exercise, I’m not really seeing how it’s well suited to travel.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about Flipbelt as a preferred alternative
Flipbelt is where it's at. I have one, it's wonderful, holds all my gels and salt packs for races.
I was literally going to comment this and you already had it. Such an amazing product.
I love it but I have an issue retrieving my gels sometimes.
Flip belt 100% I have 3 so I can rotate when they get dirty.
Discussion about preferences for Flipbelt over SPIbelt
Flipbelt will help solve your bouncy/noisy complaints for sure, OP
It was difficult to get my phone out of it and the fabric is thick and hot.
Flip belt all the way. It fits my Nexus 6 and there's not many phones bigger than that.
I'm usually carrying a lot of stuff to fanny has my vote. Keep it tight and party hard.
Discussion about preferences for other brands and comparisons
aonijie is my go-to brand! From singlets to tights, running belts and toe socks, you get sulit items!
Ive been eyeing a particular pricy belt way before i started running again i think may reason na ako to buy it 🥰
Discussion about preferences for other brands like Kiprun and UltrAspire
Better than a vest in my opinion.
Very lite and minimal but enough room for two water bottles, phone, gels, and back section for anything else.
Discussion about wearing belts versus vests
Some races (including all the marathon majors) don’t allow vests/backpacks because of “security concerns” after the Boston bombing.
Discussion about hydration vests being superior to belts
They are not and make hydrating and carrying your gear (phone/fuel/etc) so much easier.
Preference for Flip Belt over SPIbelt
I’m the same size and use Flip Belts.
Same. Love the flip belt. Holds so much and stays in place great.
Discussion on personal preferences for running gear
Running belts What are your favorites? Or any you specifically dislike?
There are a bunch that I've bought and passed down to other runners over the years.
I far prefer that to wearing a belt.
Discussion about alternatives like Flipbelt and Naked Running Band
Flip belt
Flip belt rules. Comes in all different sizes. I was training for half marathons and would forget I even had the thing on.
Haven't found any belt system with less bounce!
