Snoop's Take

The Viper Cleaning Equipment VN1715 Venom Series Low Speed Buffer is designed for efficient floor cleaning, featuring a 17" deck size and a powerful 1.5 hp motor that operates at 175 RPM. This buffer is equipped with fingertip controls and an all-steel triple planetary gear box, making it user-friendly and robust for various cleaning tasks. However, consumer feedback has raised several concerns regarding its performance. Users have reported issues such as, "the scrubber might not be getting full suction due to an air leak," pointing to potential vacuum suction problems. Additionally, there are complaints about the pads wearing out quickly and the machine's effectiveness on heavy wax buildup, with one user stating, "it works but it's not a miracle machine or anything." Based on the feedback, while the Viper VN1715 may offer ease of use and some cleaning capabilities, it faces significant challenges that could impact its effectiveness in demanding cleaning situations. Therefore, potential buyers should weigh these factors before making a purchase decision in this category.

Insightful Chatter

Floor scrubber leaving water on the right side of the squeegee, I'm still using it because its easier than mopping and I can just mop up the water.

Squeegee could be shot, large debris screen clogged, motor failing.
Potential vacuum suction problems
The scrubber might not be getting full suction due to an air leak.
Pads wear out quickly
Yeah and the pads seem to wear out rather fast.
Not effective for heavy wax buildup
Yeah it works but it's not a miracle machine or anything.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about tilt in pad holder
the very tip of the front is just slightly lifted off the floor, whereas the back is not at all.
There is so much lean (very common), I doubt a pad/brush would touch the floor if in fact that is in the down position.
it does touch the floor, but there is still a noticeable tilt seen in the pad holder.
Usually when you attach a new deck head, you have to level it out.

Discussion about DIY floor sanding experiences
The shear number of "don't do it yourself" comments is overwhelming.
Very specialized craft.
If there is only one sand left, what will you do if you go too deep or whoopsie something?
I recommend the floor sander though.
Discussion about cleaning liquids for robot vacuums
What's your trick to avoiding smelly cleaning pads....just swap or a special cleaning liquid?
I've got the S8 Pro Ultra and it does such a great job with water only that I won't bother with any cleaning liquid.
Just water, but I pour cleaning liquid on the mop cloth
A small amount of Pine Sol. No issues.
Discussion on stripping without chemicals
They are viper brand, and have square heads they are supposed to strip the wax without chemicals.
Does it oscillate rather than rotate? Stripping without chemical sounds good but the dry method takes much longer.

Discussion about pad color coding for cleaning floors
Using green pad with an Auto Scrubber Title says it, has anyone tried this and what was the outcome?
Depends on the brand of pad. 3M used to be the major maker, then many others followed suit.
In my experience green and blue pads are utility pads and they can be pretty aggressive.
If you use blue/green you probably end up taking layers of coats off the floor.
Discussion about the effectiveness of cleaning methods
Adjust water control to medium and also make sure squeegee is rinsed clean for efficient pickup.
Suggestions for maintenance tips
Might be clogged in the vacuum hose
