Snoop's Take

The Cora Menstrual Period Cup is a sustainable and reusable alternative to traditional menstrual products, designed with comfort and ease of use in mind. Made from soft, medical-grade silicone, it provides leak protection and is a long-lasting investment, allowing users to manage their periods with confidence. Feedback from users highlights the cup's effectiveness, with many noting that it was "the best purchase I ever made for myself" and that they experienced zero leaks, making it a preferred choice for menstrual health. Consumers appreciate the Cora cup for its ease of insertion and comfort, with comments like "insertation was so much easier than my cup!" and the sentiment that the design contributes to a comfortable fit for users, especially those with a low cervix. However, some users have faced challenges, including discomfort and difficulty with removal, indicating that experiences may vary significantly. Overall, despite some negative feedback, the product is largely recommended for its category due to its strong positive reception from many users who value its sustainability and effectiveness. In conclusion, the Cora Menstrual Period Cup is a highly recommended option for those seeking a reliable and environmentally friendly menstrual product. While some users may experience challenges, the majority find it a comfortable and effective solution for menstrual management.

I’m honestly just impressed that my $25 investment in a Diva Cup when I was 20 years old in 2013 has served me so well.

Positive Feedback

Extremely uncomfortable for me. Im not digging with my THUMB and INDEX finger with my *1 inch stilleto nails* into my dry vagina to insert it or break the seal.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Long-lasting investment
I’m honestly just impressed that my $25 investment in a Diva Cup when I was 20 years old in 2013 has served me so well.
It’s been awesome not having to buy anything period related for all these years though.
Saves money over time
This is a 10/10 anticonsumption post.
Best purchase I ever made for myself.
Leakproof functionality
Feels great, love having what’s basically a leakproof tampon, but I found it was a challenge to remove.
Cora is kinda notorious for it's removal being tricky.
Easy cleaning process
The Cora has cleaned really easily for me despite the holes.
Easier insertion compared to cups
Insertation was so much easier then my cup!
Congratulations! I recently also finished my first cycle with no leaks using a disc ☺️
Zero leaks reported
I feel like there must be a fluke or I’m just lucky because I have had zero leaks or auto dumping.
Comfortable and less painful than tampons
You can forget about it for hours, less pain overall, less blood everywhere, no pads scratching your skin and ass all day.
Sustainable option reducing waste
I think one of my hyperfixations is creating as little waste as possible if that is a thing.
Easy to clean and maintain hygiene
Voila! I need all the supplies to be right there in the bathroom, so it's just very easy to reach for and get it done.
Long-lasting and cost-effective
you could not PAY me to go back to disposable pads.
Easier insertion after initial use
I like the cup, it does it's job and I will probably use it for a couple long years.
Cora disc is easy to use and comfortable
Cora vs Moonthlies I am a longtime cup user and have been trying to make the switch to discs because
I absolutely love my Cora disc! It's so easy to use, and once it's in I don't feel it at all.
I think the moonthlies small is smallest. I like the thin material for the moonthlies basin more, bu
LOVE my Cora! BEST reusable I’ve ever had and I’ve been using cups/discs for over a decade.
Convenient for sanitizing menstrual cups
Just thought some of you would appreciate knowing about these sanity saving devices.
this is a brilliant solution.
Don’t forget to let it cool down a bit after the shower, though. 😅
Cora disc is the right fit for some users
It’s my Goldilocks and I’ll be using it forever unless something really amazing releases.
Cora disc is easy to use with a finger ledge
I’ll probably try Cora first cuz I like the finger ledge thing.
Neutral color options available
I REALLY like the neutral black colour (why are all cups and discs brightly coloured or clear???)
Oh that's fantastic, I hadn't even bothered to check if they had alternative colours to the red!
Comfortable fit for low cervix users
The Cora cup had been perfect for me. The smaller size is much more comfortable for me than the diva cup was.
I am kicking myself for waiting so long. there are no leaks for pain, so it's my partner in flow for now!
Cora cup is comfortable to use
the cora cup size 1 was my first cup and it’s very comfortable!
Cora cup design aids in breaking the seal
Its gimmick is an indent in the silicone near the rim, which may help break the seal and keep it collapsed enough to remove more comfortably.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Menstrual cup is uncomfortable and painful for some users
Extremely uncomfortable for me. Im not digging with my THUMB and INDEX finger with my *1 inch stilleto nails* into my dry vagina to insert it or break the seal.
The cup also didn’t work for me, I found it extremely uncomfortable and painful, and I won’t put myself through additional discomfort and pain during my period by wearing one.
The 3rd (it was a disc type) I got IN, but couldn't get out by myself.
I spent £20 on a menstrual cup to be eco-friendly, ended up spending 12 hours in A&E and had to be anesthetised to have it removed.
Difficulty in inserting and removing menstrual cups
The number of people who have tried to proselytize menstrual cups, in particular, to me, is wild.
It feels horrible.
No thank you to trying to go in raw.
Menstrual cup didn't work for some users
Cannot believe I used to fuck around with pads.
Difficult removal
The finger notch was essentially useless in removal.
Menstrual cup shifts and loses suction during use
I feel like I’d consciously feel all day “there’s something inside of me” or if I move in wrong “youch that’s pretty uncomfortable.”
Cora menstrual cup can pull out IUDs
TL;DR: The suction on my Cora cup dislodged my copper IUD and caused excessive bleeding and awful cramps.
>but on my second day ever using one?? Seriously?
The suction has a reputation of pulling out iuds.
I suctioned my mirena IUD out with my diva cup.
Cora disc can leak for some users
I have had serious issues with the Ziggy disk just leaking... I wear a pantiliner just in case.
Disappointment with shipping options
I really want to try the Cora Disc too - but no shipping to Europe either so I feel ya! :/
I literally sent them an email asking the same thing. They said that at the moment they don’t, but t

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Awareness of alternative period products
Although in case you are ever sick of pads, those special period panties (thinx) that you bleed freely in are potentially another option.
I have the latter and they work great, I don’t have to ever worry about a mess and it cuts down on waste.
I just wear adult pullups until my period ends 👁️👄👁️no reason, they're just more comfortable and I feel more secure about leaks.
Discussion about personal preferences for menstrual products
Honestly, what everyone else does with their vagina is not for me to judge.
I’ll take all the applicators!!
Discussion on different menstrual product preferences
I am just so happy. I think it's going to be huge.
using a cup and even cleaning it has so far been the least stressful/gross period thing I've ever had to deal with!
Once it’s in place you literally cannot feel it at all.
Experiences with period products and personal hygiene
During the day I just dump, rinse, and reinsert (I have the single stall bathrooms everywhere I go already mapped out).

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Menstrual products used in recovery after surgery
Not sure about a cup tho.
Preference for discs over cups
I decided to skip straight to discs instead of using cups and I love them!
Hydrogen peroxide helps remove stains
a hydrogen peroxide soak will remove all of the brown stains you mentioned!

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about menstrual cup prices
Disheartening prices on menstrual cups Just a rant. Why are they so expensive?!
The June cup is only $8 plus shipping.
Don't buy at Walgreens.
I got my first one free through my local Planned Parenthood.
Discussion about high costs of menstrual cups in the U.S.
That would end up being a $10k+ menstrual cup.
User experiences with different brands
I’d never go back to using anything else. Definitely a learning curve at the beginning but it was worth it to me.
Cleansing recommendations for menstrual cups
I reached out to Cora and they said they have no alternative suggestions.
Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Keep it plain/unscented.
I think I’m just overthinking it lol.
Just don’t use anything with fragrance!
Learning curve for insertion and removal of menstrual cups
When it comes to cups, size does matter.
It definitely takes a bit of a learning curve to get insertion and removal down.
Any cup is going to have a learning curve, especially if you haven't used one before.
Initial user experiences with switching products
Removing the Cora disc felt traumatic lol, and I was unable to use it again for that reason.
I’m so glad you got it and it works for you!!
Finding the right menstrual cup can be overwhelming
There are so many on the market that it's overwhelming.
Comfort with menstrual cups varies by individual anatomy
It's pretty amazing what your body can and will get used to, if you give it time.
Importance of understanding personal anatomy for choosing menstrual products
I can not recommend the Lily cup enough for those of you with a high cervix. It's literally a game-changer.
It's the perfect cup for me!
I'm a bit sad about the lily cup not working for me though.
Like you, my cervix is pretty much in my throat Hahahah I’m so pumped to try it.
Discussion about experiences with different menstrual cup brands
I'm already very excited and am hoping that the Merula will be the one for me, too.
Availability of various menstrual cup brands in stores
This is pretty amazing. Not long ago menstrual cups were only available to order direct from the manufacturers.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Challenges with high cervix when using menstrual cups
All cups just seem to go so high up that I can’t get a grip on the bottom.
Hello’s high cervix cup and the Intimina Lily Cup are both longer than the Diva cup.
I hate the lily cup personally cos of the suction being too hard and it collapses for me.
the only one that fits like a glove is the lily cup.
Struggles with using menstrual cups due to medical conditions
Personally, for me, it just reminded me that my vagina is fucking broken, and I'm already painfully (literally) aware of that fact.
I was born without an internal vagina canal and had one created through vagioplasty when I was 16.
Pads have never bothered me though.
17 yrs later and I still can not use a tampon or a cup.
Preference for pads over cups due to comfort
They don't feel as gross as the plastic sticky ones thankfully.
I just prefer pads, I don't like sticking tampons up there feels so weird.
They just have a little button clasp to go around underwear.
Discussion on the judgment of period product choices
calling them a diaper is a bit much.
Figuring out how to use a tampon was literally life changing for me.
I could never use a pad or cup because I have issues.
Discussion about menstrual cup advertising
Take the win :)
Discussion on menstrual product reliability
It was a good lesson in how truly sustainable products and capitalism don’t mix well.
Curiosity about suction holes
I don’t really know how the suction holes work but I was curious about them.
I personally loved not worrying about cleaning them like the cups.
Concerns about using menstrual cups in public settings
I’m worried about laughing hard or coughing while being in a bikini and it dumping on me.
Discussion on men's perceptions of menstrual cups
If a man is being a dickwad over your menstrual cup, by all means, get the steamer in order to make your life easier, but only after kicking the man to the curb.
Experience with bladder infections related to menstrual cup use
I have issues with bladder infections and have to remind myself every period that it's just my cup, not an incoming bladder infection.
Nostalgia for the past availability of menstrual cups
I remember when I had to order my Diva cup from CANADA! ...back in my day we had to wait for owl delivery for our cups...
