Snoop's Take

The eTone 3X 1000ml Collapsible Darkroom Chemical Storage Bottles are designed for film photographers who require reliable chemical storage in a compact, foldable format. They serve as essential darkroom accessories for safely storing and processing photographic chemicals. User feedback, albeit limited, reveals a mixed bag of opinions; one review noted, “Those bottles are great, but really inconvenient if you get a C-41 1L kit,” highlighting a design shortfall for users with larger chemical kits. This comment underscores that while the product performs well for standard setups, its compatibility with certain kit sizes can be a drawback. Overall, if your darkroom needs align with its capacity and design, this product holds up well in quality and durability. However, potential buyers using C-41 1L kits should carefully assess its suitability before committing, as it may not be the best fit for all chemical processing environments.

I personally used the catlabs timer, and I love it.
I can absolutely recommend it.
It is great. Supports down to 1/10 of seconds all the way up to 999 minutes.

Discussion on desired features and innovative ideas in digital darkroom timers
I think I'd just quit printing if I didn't have a foot switch, it makes everything so easy.
I’m designing and building an affordable timer to make available for purchase to anyone.
You've pretty much described the Gralab 450/451 there and for the same reasons I use it.
You just read off everything I'm looking for in my next timer!
Alternative chem bottle cost‐saving tips
As a hobbyist I try to pinch pennies wherever I can and this will save me a lot of money.
Less than a buck. Makes perfect small quantity developing batches.
I hate having to use and rinse a funnel to pour the chemicals back into the bottles.
One of those looks like it's for motor oil.
Recommendations for compact digital cameras with film simulation
I love the look and feel of film cameras and how pics taken with film come out without any editing needed.
Out of the box, Fuji cameras are going to be your best bet.
is there a Fujifilm Digitial Camera out there that has the film simulation feature and is simple enough for a child to use?
This IS the answer. I'm envious of the images straight out of the camera.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Sharing darkroom setup and gear showcase
Yeah, so it is the darkroom, it's not my private per se, but I have access to it thanks to my local analog photographers' society.
Just got one of these. Push processing and Vision3 are easy peasy now.
Looks like shit but works like charm.
I use Cinestill CS41 at room temperature so no need for sous vide.
Cost and practicality considerations in darkroom equipment
Honestly, a darkroom can function perfectly even without a tool like this.
So I can make some money doing what I love!
This is not suitable for a commercial lab!!!!
If you want to start a darkroom it makes no sense to invest in a tool like that.
Perceived high quality and affordability of eTone darkroom equipment
Many film oriented products, good quality and at Chinese prices.
Home developing kit equipment advice
Your BF is in for a real treat.
I am a bot here to save you a click and provide helpful information on the Amazon link posted above.
Has everything one would need to get started in one convenient package.
Advice on film development and processing services
I really just want my photos back as soon as possible, but I'm also on a budget since I am a senior in college.
You’re probably better off mailing it out to a service like [the darkroom]. Turnaround is relatively quick to get scans back.
So if you send it out to the darkroom, you will receive the actual physical film back as well as the scans in whatever quality you paid for?
Yes, your negatives/positives are returned and you’re emailed a link to download the scans.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Darkroom hobby journey and community support
You've mastered a steep learning curve in an extremely short time. Impressive!
Still have a lot to learn and I’m sure it’s going to be a lifelong learning process.
You’ve got way better results than I ever had in the darkroom.
I’m so happy when I see people embracing this great hobby/art.
Challenges with DIY motorized developing setups leading to inconsistent agitation
The biggest difference is that I could never get the base+tank to be level enough that it wouldn’t need to be adjusted every couple of minutes.
I was thinking maybe throwing a couple of rubber bands on the tank to give some grip.
I also found that if I didn't pick it up and agitate manually a couple times the I would end up with uneven development on 120 film.
Jobo is consistent.
Usability and performance concerns with the automatic roller developing tank
A pointer to a YT video or PDF would be great.
How big of a tank does one of these support?
They sell an extension arm with rollers to accommodate a five spiral tank.
sounds like an old drill making a hole in concrete.
Discussion on knock‐off darkroom processors and agitation methods
For around $150 they might be worthwhile.
I get mine spinning, use the 'Develop' app (IOS) which chimes every minute to remind me to peek at how much time is left.
The main reason for me to buy it is consistency of agitation and decreased chemical usage.
Less chemistry per run is good and so is walking away for a while.
