Snoop's Take

eTone’s 3x 1000ml Darkroom Chemical Storage Bottles are a specialized set designed for holding photographic chemicals safely and efficiently. They are built for film development, ensuring that chemicals like developer, stopper, and fixer are handled properly in a darkroom setting. Consumers in the community have been dissecting the simplicity of these bottles with a mix of humor and critique. As one user put it, “it fit perfectly in my desk,” highlighting the product’s knack for blending into small workspaces. While there isn’t an overwhelming chorus of praise or disdain, the discussion tends to underscore the fact that these bottles serve a very targeted purpose without any unnecessary frills. In conclusion, despite the scarcity of detailed user feedback, the product holds its ground in its narrow role. For buyers strictly in need of reliable chemical storage for film processing, eTone’s offering comes recommended, especially if you’re looking for a no-nonsense addition to your darkroom.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Considerations for advanced darkroom processing equipment
Honestly, a darkroom can function perfectly even without a tool like this.
I was thinking of a darkroom as a dev and scan service for other people.
This is not suitable for a commercial lab!!!!
Well, that's not suitable for professional use, as others have said.
Technical questions on processing equipment
That's the biggest problem I see with these sorts of rollers.
What settings would you use for BW developing with this?
I heard it’s only good for B&W but I want it for C41?
How big of a tank does one of these support?
Digital cameras with film simulation features as alternatives
Out of the box, Fuji cameras are going to be your best bet.
Bonus points for also being durable and inexpensive.
I'm envious of the images straight out of the camera.
in my opinion it renders the film-look more realistically.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Challenges and modifications with DIY darkroom motor base setups
the biggest difference is that I could never get the base+tank to be level enough that it wouldn’t need to be adjusted every couple of minutes.
I was thinking maybe throwing a couple of rubber bands on the tank to give some grip.
if I didn't pick it up and agitate manually a couple times the I would end up with uneven development on 120 film.
Jobo is consistent.
Exploring alternative processing equipment solutions
the film always has a "film" of developer on it, and the rotation serves to refresh the developer.
The main reason for me to buy it is consistency of agitation and decreased chemical usage.
Less chemistry per run is good and so is walking away for a while.
DIY film extraction from disposable cameras to save money
Crack the camera apart to get the film out of it and you can save a few bucks.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Budget-friendly and reliable darkroom timer experiences
I personally used the catlabs timer, and I love it.
I can absolutely recommend it.
It is great. Supports down to 1/10 of seconds all the way up to 999 minutes.
I use that rewired to my good enlarger.
Chinese instructions language barrier
I haven't the foggiest how to adjust the rollers.
Do you have a link to the Chinese instructions?
Discussion on manufacturing origins and pricing
Many film oriented products, good quality and at Chinese prices.
Budget-friendly chemical bottle alternatives
As a hobbyist I try to pinch pennies wherever I can and this will save me a lot of money.
Less than a buck. Makes perfect small quantity developing batches.
Any cheap recommendations with a larger mouth?
One of those looks like it's for motor oil.
Home developing kit component advice
Your BF is in for a real treat.
I am a bot here to save you a click and provide helpful information on the Amazon link posted above.
Those bottles are great, but really inconvenient if you get a C-41 1L kit.
Has everything one would need to get started in one convenient package.
Film developing service recommendations
You’re probably better off mailing it out to a service like [the darkroom]. Turnaround is relatively quick to get scans back.
So if you send it out to the darkroom, you will receive the actual physical film back as well as the scans in whatever quality you paid for?
Yes, your negatives/positives are returned and you’re emailed a link to download the scans.
Maybe check out Knoxville Film lab.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Encouragement for analog photography pursuits
You've mastered a steep learning curve in an extremely short time. Impressive!
Still have a lot to learn and I’m sure it’s going to be a lifelong learning process.
You’ve got way better results than I ever had in the darkroom.
Srsly, I’m so happy when I see people embracing this great hobby/art.
Noise issues with the roller processor
sounds like an old drill making a hole in concrete.
