Snoop's Take

The JJC Darkroom Supplies Film Changing Bag is a portable, light-safe solution designed for film processing outside a conventional darkroom. Featuring a spacious, box-cube design, it allows photographers to load negatives and rolls easily in makeshift darkrooms. User feedback, however, isn’t all smooth sailing; experts in the field have noted design limitations with reports such as, 'It was constantly giving what looked like orange light leaks around the sides of every frame.' This single-minded critique underscores concerns about its light-sealing performance under bright ambient conditions, and it has sparked debate among users. Despite its practical setup, the recurring mention of light leakage cannot be overlooked. In summary, while this film changing bag offers ample space and an easy-to-install setup that will appeal to many, potential buyers should be aware of its light leakage issues before committing. It is recommended for those who prioritize space and ease of use over pristine light seal performance.

Out of the box, Fuji cameras are going to be your best bet.
Bonus points for also being durable and inexpensive.
I'm envious of the images straight out of the camera.

I use d5600 with autofocus macrorings for 16mm and 110 film scanning!
Control and Customization in Self-Developing Film
Developing yourself gives you more control over the process, particularly with B&W, that alone makes it worth it.

DIY Film Scanning Rig and Equipment Tips
Excellent film flatness and a good light source.
Thanks for that.
Don't skimp on the light source, that's one of the most important parts of a setup but is often overlooked.
it works from anything between 35mm half frame and 4x5 sheets :) and is quite inexpensive.
Questions and Workflow Challenges in DIY Film Scanning
Will I get nice quality scanning the film or should I develop it to paper then scan?
That's not a film scanner so you won't be able to scan film directly.
Is there something like a film scanner? What's the best workflow, I am kinda confused now.
many photographers don’t even know how much you can effect an exposure with technique and chems.

I keep them in concertina bottles with the air squeezed out and haven't had any problems reusing over that period.
its just not worth it over spending a couple bucks having somebody else do a better job.
the money saved is all that matters. After 3 rolls you make your money back.
Benefits and cost savings of home film development
For b&w there is no drawback to doing it at home: very easy, cheaper, faster, chemicals last forever.
C41 is all about the consistent results and being idiot proof.
Sous vide makes it super easy.
With monochrome you can be pretty sloppy like me and still get good negatives.
Advice for processing disposable camera film
You’re probably better off mailing it out to a service like the darkroom.
So if you send it out to the darkroom, you will receive the actual physical film back as well as the scans in whatever quality you paid for?
Yes, your negatives/positives are returned and you’re emailed a link to download the scans.
Maybe check out Knoxville Film lab.
Advice on equipment upgrades for beginners
You don’t just suddenly get good by upgrading your equipments.
In a nutshell if it’s a hobby then look into a good camera and lens set so you can express your creativity through films and cinematography.
Cost Savings and Convenience of Home Film Development
Plus I push a lot so the extra charges really rack up there, whereas at home it just costs me a couple of extra minutes.
But, then, when I do take one I'm particularly proud of, I can self scan and improve upon the scanning from the lab.
