Reliable performance over time
I’ve had mine now for probably almost 2 years, use it everyday and it’s great!

I usually set people with with a Geyron suction-vac: ($50 + there's usually a coupon)

I was gifted a Geryon vacuum sealer and while it seems pretty straightforward to operate, I don't want to damage either the machine or a meal.

Issues with sealing when bags are wet
Vacuum sealer not sealing Has anyone had an issue withe their vacuum sealer not fully sealing bags.
The only problem I've had was when the sealed area was wet.
Problems with bag slack during vacuum sealing
the bag does not have enough slack and as the air get sucked out, the food gets too close to the edge of the sealer.
Sealing issues with wet bags
there's a learning curve to be sure, and sometimes you have to give it a few tries to get a good seal for the vacuum pump to work correctly
Problems with certain brands of sealers
I have the power XL sealer and it's garbage, so uh, stay away from that one.
Difficulties sealing moist items
Having trouble sealing the simplest things. juices still leak out.
squeeze the steak in some paper towels before putting it in the bag.
Just clean it with a paper towel and do a second seal.
Wet things you have to do manually. If you are sealing for sous vide you don't need a perfect vacuum anyways.
Ineffective vacuum sealing for jars
It’s not actually creating more than a negative pressure gradient so the lid stays on.
Compatibility issues with attachments
The attachment only works on certain Foodsaver models, so be sure to check that.
Clumsy operation with thicker rolls
It can be a bit clumsy, but I just get everything ready to go and opened before I start handling raw meat.
Customer service issues
It also did not fit 15” bags which was a pain for bigger cuts like brisket.
