Its still under warranty but to return and get the same one, I'm worry if it’ll break again soon.
Just make sure you plug it in and test it.
Just be sure to plug it in to make sure it works!
Compact size for easy storage
Thoughts on mini food processors? I've recently been getting more into cooking and baking but I don't have a lot of kitchen space. I was considering getting a mini food processor, but I don't know if it's worth it. I was wondering what people's thoughts are generally on mini food processors - how often do you find yourself using them and for what sort of thing? For example, mainly sauces, or chopping veg, do you use it for smoothies or blitzing up ingredients for baking? How many different way do you/could you use it for? What are the main pros and cons of one? I'm still at the beginner stage of cooking really - would it make things easier or overcomplicate them? Is there a significant difference between a mini food processor and a chopper? I don't have the space or disposable income for a full sized one right now unfortunately, and when I attempted the tried and trusted research method of googling it just brought up lists of the best mini food processors etc, which isn't quite what I'm after! I was hoping someone here would have some knowledge or opinions. Just realised I listed a lot of questions so apologies for that, but really I'm interested in anything anyone has to say on the subject
LOVE mine and use it daily, sometimes more than once. Perfect for small quantities of cheese, breadcrumbs, nuts, veg, even pate, or adding flavor to ricotta, sour cream dressings, small quantities of mayo and vinaigrette and I'm probably forgetting quite a bit. Oh, pie crust. Small, easy to rinse out and store. the capacity will not work for smoothies or anything too liquid, it will leak.
Found a Hamilton Beach Scovill food processor yesterday for $2! Runs like a dream.
Buying my first food processor - help me compare these models! As the title states, I'm looking to buy my very first food processor. I don't like to cook, but I have twin toddlers that I like to make healthy meals for. This usually means me making batches of meals ahead of time on the weekends and freezing them. I'm over the ridiculous amount of time I have to spend grating carrots and chopping onions and want a food processor to help me save time.
Effective for shredding and chopping
I just bought myself one of these and it's AMAZING.
Grating is fine. But the feed tube on most models is so safe that it's to the point of ridiculous.
Easy to clean with dishwasher safe parts
The best one on the market after doing a LOT of research is the Cuisinart without a question.
Absolutely! Same here. The fact that it's so easy to clean makes it so valuable in my house.
Effective for chopping and making sauces
10 out of 10 would buy and recommend again.
Proper vegetable prep isn't just about appearance.
Reliable and durable over time
I had that same processor for many years. It was a real workhorse.
It was my mom’s. It works great still!
I use my food processor at least three times a week. It is one of the best things my husband gave me.
Effective for chopping vegetables
Have you tried making yogurt in the instant pot? We were in the same boat, hardly used it, but now we use it ever 1-2 weeks.

Durability issues with motor
Yah I wonder that too, I follow Asian Recipes, half frozen meat cubes with few Ice cubes.
Food particles get stuck in the handle
food particles check in, but they don't check out. this is unsanitary and maddening!!
Hamilton Beach is not known for quality
Food Processor Brands I had another Hamilton Beach food processor burn out on me recently.
Hamilton Beach isn't particularly known for quality.
Motor burnt out quickly
Killed this food processor in a week.
You killed it... seems you totally burnt out the motor by it not having enough horse power.
Not suitable for making dough
I rejected it because its instructions specifically say it is not to be used for dough.
Durability issues with parts
The MagiMix... it's Robot Coupe's home version. It's pretty awesome, imo.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Usage recommendations and limitations
Are the gears even catching the blade mount? You said it's spinning.
I use food processors almost daily, but 3 things I don't use them for are hummus, salsa fresca, and guacamole.
Discussion on food processor capabilities
yeah this one will have the top blades, so no pre chopping involved.
Discussion on food processor capabilities for different uses
chopping everything by hand takes forever.
I would never use my food processor if I insisted on hand washing lol.
Inquiry about small food processors with slicing capabilities
I live alone and don't cook in large quantities, plus I have very limited storage space for kitchen appliances, so this size is perfect for me.
Hamilton Beach has a [4-cup model](https://hamiltonbeach.com/stack-and-snap-compact-food-processor-70510) that offers slicing and shredding.
Thanks for the recommendations. I'll check out the Hamilton and also the dimensions on the Cuisinart 7-cup.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
DIY fix for cleaning the handle
Now the black top snaps into place and pops back off easily for cleaning.
Discussion on food processor use for dough
When we use a 30 quart hobart standing mixer to make dough, we don't expect the dough to be made in the food processor.
Do you want a big work bowl, or do you only make small quantities of food at a time?

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Thrift stores offer affordable options for food processors
I saw exactly zero food processors at any thrift stores I've been to in at least the last year.
Considering how many times you could re-purchase the Hamilton Beach if it broke before you'd regret not buying the Cuisinart, and its good reviews, I'd get the cheaper one unless I was a near-daily user.
Consider the quantity of food you typically prepare
I think they’re great for dishes up to about 3 people! Larger soups and dishes can be done in batches, but if you’re trying to do a larger rough puff pastry dough it could be problematic.
Consider fill limits and bowl size
Read the manual and what it says about maximum fill amounts.
Assuming price is roughly equivalent (like, within $10 or $15) I'd go with the larger bowl size that has an only slightly slower engine.
Pre-cutting vegetables improves processing
It's good to pre-chop items in order to get an even "chop" once it goes in the processor.
If you care about even results and controlling how fine the chop is, then you should heed the instructions.
Consideration of product type for vegetable chopping
oh, well...takes a long time to cut a lot of vegetables.
Consideration of product type for specific tasks
I have the 7cup classic looks like it's the pro classic now. I would agree if you want to make a lot of liquidity stuff get the bigger, but if not, then the 7 is fine.
Discussion around assistance for those with disabilities
The comment section was a dumpster fire because her friends were saying things like 'of course he needs help, he has ONE ARM!'
Glad OOP is done with both of the leeches.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Warranty concerns
Its probably still under warranty if its less than a full month old
Discussion on plastic safety and accessories
Anyone know the plastic safety on this? I was gifted one without accessories
Discussion on plastic safety and dishwasher impact
I have the 14 cup one. Go big, because the liquid it can handle is nowhere near that amount.
