Positive Feedback

My food processor kept on wobbling intensely, continued to leak oats and water profusely out between the lid and the container.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy to clean with self-cleaning feature
Just add warm water and liquid soap and turn the machine on, it cleans itself!
Just get the little spiky bowl thing. Cut an orange in half, invert it down onto the spike, push and spin.
Great for finely chopping ingredients
Instead of taking 30 miserable, teary-eyed minutes to chop 5 pounds of onions, I just have to peel them and chuck them in the Cuisinart, and they’re done in 2 minutes.
Effective dicing feature
Love this attachment, especially for the dicing!
User loves their KitchenAid food processor.
I love mine. Use it all the time!
Durable and long-lasting
It's pricey, but it last for friggin ever.
My mother used hers for over 50 years.
Versatile with many attachments
Have you seen the paintjobs in the gallery here? [Kitchen art](http://un-amore.com/gallery.html)
I second the vote for Kitchenaid. You can not beat the amount of attachments. Plus they are virtually indestructible.
Easy to use for various tasks
KitchenAid. Hands down. I use mine several times a week to make everything from pasta to cookies and bread.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Wobbles and leaks with liquids
My food processor kept on wobbling intensely, continued to leak oats and water profusely out between the lid and the container.
Food processor is not very good overall
I don’t use the food processor at all. You can get a more powerful food processor for less money and it will do a better job.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about attachments and their usefulness
KitchenAid most useful attachments
Alternatively, the ninja food processor+ is a pretty heavy duty machine that can put in the work.
The slicer/shredder is one of my go-to attachments.
Comparison of attachment vs standalone food processors
the attachment is no comparison to the standalone unit.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Seeking suggestions for dishes to justify usage
We’ve had it 3 years and used it once. The cleanup seems to not be worth the hassle.
Food processors are good for non-yeasted crusts and quick preparation tasks.
Food processors are good for non-yeasted crusts, biscuits, etc. They make it easy to cut butter into the dough.
Discussion about food processing techniques and effects on potatoes
Friend used food processor on red skinned potatoes before boiling them “for faster mashed potatoes”
when u boil potatoes like this for long enough they lose their color. they kind of dissolve. dont food process potatoes even after they’re boiled, it messes with some compounds in the potatoes and makes their texture weird
Yeah, if you overwork potatoes they get really gluey. Like you can make good mashed potatoes with the whisk attachment on a stand mixer but its easy to overdo it.
Food processor and red potatoes turns it to glue. Need to hand mash red potatoes.
Discussion about preferences for mashing potatoes
I boil them then toss them in a kitchen aid with butter, sour cream (or unflavored Greek yogurt these days) use the paddle mixer, and you get the most silky creamy mashed potatoes ever.
You should hand mash any kind of potato, food processors mess up the starch molecules and make them go glue-y, usually don't end up this colour though.
Seriously. I don't understand why people act like lumpy mashed potatoes are bad and smooth ones are good. Mashed potatoes should be lumpy! And leave the skin in there!
You should try throwing a couple of cloves of garlic in with the potatoes to boil. Mash them with everything and I like to add chives, butter and buttermilk.
Discussion about preferences between food processor and stand mixer
Looking to start making bread and alot more home baking.
I like to bake. I couldn't go back to not using a stand mixer; it makes almost any baking project easier.
Unless you really do a LOT of baking you'll likely get more use out of a nice food processor.
I use my kitchen aid for more baking, and my food processor for more sauces, and savory stuff.
Discussion about kitchen appliance preferences
Kitchenaid stand mixer, Vita-Mix, or fancy food processor? If you could have one- and only one- of these appliances in your kitchen which would it be and why?
It depends on your needs— If you bake a lot Kitchenaid mixer hands down. If you make a lot of smoothies, soups, sauces, dressings and (fiber in) green juices then vitamix, particularly the Ascent series so you can easily switch to smaller cups without the awkward bulky adapter
That is a pretty good selling point. What are you calling a food processor attachment for the kitchen aid because I keep looking for that and all I'm finding is a grinder/shredder attachment and it's not exactly what I'm looking for (thing pesto or guacamole)

Discussion about food processor options and preferences.
Looking to buy the best food processor and find myself a tad overwhelmed with the numerous options available.
The best one on the market after doing a LOT of research is the Cuisinart without a question.
I've been using the Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus for a couple of years, and it's fantastic.
Its performance compensates for the slightly larger footprint.
Discussion about food processor options and preferences
Sadly, it's falling to pieces now after ~5 years of heavy duty, this model isn't made anymore and there are no spare parts to be had.
This is the only answer. Everything else is trash by comparison.
Cuisinart 14 cup food processor is the best alternative to a robot coupe.
General discussion about food processor preferences
Overall, I found the meals to be tasty.
Discussion about cleaning methods for food processors
Idk, I use an omega for celery and it's easy to clean, as long as it's done right away 😂
The jucero is super easy to clean : )
Discussion about the necessity of food processor attachments
Should I buy it?
I liked the fact that the higher power kitcheaids can kneed and handle doughs like bagels and breads, which I want.
Kitchenaid attachments truly do take up space.
for that Vitamix attachment’s price you can get a 14-cup processor from Cuisinart that’s consistently rated very highly.
Discussion about Cuisinart food processors as a preferred choice
Don't go slandering my KitchenAid! And several other bands listed are solid choices for the everyday veteran foodie too!
I know chefs that use KitchenAid. It’s what they use on The British Baking Show for crying out loud.
Yea agreed, I have a cuisinart food processor thats like 5 years old thing is a work horse, only reason the 20 year old one went is bc i cracked the mechanism that let it turn on for safety, it is also the only one with a hole in the plunger so you can emulsify and make things like aioli. Also have the ice cream maker which i wish would break maybe i could lose my last 20lbs of baby weight. This twat can fuck off
My parents have been using the same cuisinart food processor for almost twenty-five years. A piece of the bowl snapped off this summer, and it's literally the first time they've had to replace any part of it. The thing's an absolute workhorse.
Comparison of functionality between different kitchen devices
So if I had to choose just one I'd stick with a food processor.
For *me* the stand mixer is the most useful as I hate kneading dough by hand.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about the differences between food processors and KitchenAid stand mixers for dough.
Food Processor vs. Kitchen Aid on Dough Making. What's the difference between a food processor (which has a plastic blade attachment) and a kitchen aid in terms of gluten development in the dough.
A food processor will always knead doughs much more quickly and aggressively, and so aren't ideal when it's possible to overwork the dough.
a food processor can better aid in achieving that desired texture? But for light, airy and tender breads like challah, dinner rolls or croissants, a kitchen aid mixer will be better because overkneading the dough would prevent it from having that delicate and easy to tear structure these breads have in common.
General mention of using a Cuisinart for dough versus using a KitchenAid mixer.
I have a dough blade for my Cuisinart 14 cup it'll give one loaf, love it if for pie dough though, bread and pizza dough I got to my kitchaid stand mixer and a dough hook.
General discussion about cooking as a science
I mean isn't cooking really just food alchemy anyway
Potatoes store their energy in long chains of mostly glucose. We call this starch.
When you just blend the shit out of raw potatoes, you get a ton of this oxidation happening and it turns it into black sludge.
Discussion about Cuisinart food processor recalls.
Cuisinart is recalling 8 million food processor blades.
Holy shit - just checked mine and the blades are cracked on the bottom.
This is for any blade with 4 stainless rivets.
Did you go to the Cuisinart website and enter in all your information on the recall page just to be sure?
