Snoop's Take

The Logitech G PRO Flight Yoke System is a professional simulation yoke designed for flight enthusiasts and aspiring pilots. With its realistic controls and robust construction, it offers an immersive experience for virtual flying in simulators like Elite Dangerous and DCS. Consumer sentiment highlights a mix of appreciation and criticism for the product. Many users laud its "good entry-level yoke system" and find it affordable, noting that "the button layout works well" and that it's an effective introduction to flight simulation. However, some feedback points to issues with durability, with one user stating that the "stickiness and jerkiness" made the yoke unplayable for them. Overall, the Logitech G PRO Flight Yoke System is recommended for beginners looking for an affordable entry into flight simulation, but potential buyers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding durability and performance against higher-end options.

What flight joystick do you use? Just purchased Elite Dangerous this week and the first thing I noticed was how sensitive the ship controls are, it doesn't feel natural on KB+mouse or on an Xbox controller.

Positive Feedback

the "stickiness" and jerkiness of the Logitech yoke was borderline unplayable to me

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Robust and accurate control
What flight joystick do you use? Just purchased Elite Dangerous this week and the first thing I noticed was how sensitive the ship controls are, it doesn't feel natural on KB+mouse or on an Xbox controller.
I've had mine HotasX for over 3500 h of Elite, no problems whatsoever.
The twist will go sloppy after a few years. But other than that it's pretty solid.
Plasticky movement on Logitech Flight yoke, is it excessive?
Good entry-level yoke system
The button layout works well and as an added bonus ED has built in support for it, so there is an out the box key bind that whilst not perfect is good enough to get started with.
I want the best for him and it's nice to see other people who enjoy flight sim who are also getting licenses!!
You were gifted a great yoke and throttle to start this ride off with, you may come to regret that, lol.
Flexible and secure mounting
I think you convinced me to buy that setup. It looks to be best bang for your buck in terms of build quality and button layout, without being the most expensive set.
Thank you! I figured a stick would be more attainable after checking prices on different setups. I found this [dual stick/throttle](https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hotas-One-xbox/dp/B07643TW2V/ref=sr_1_10?crid=AY3OUN7UT3LW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Yk4zZips7_BzGpIjYT49XBqwQ8O9ZkVnEjQzM3nV3Oc50uZDMbaXOSwkFZurW0hk-sPretcNDtfaS3efShemrw0gmunA5v3JAxtBqN_ttIAyXE6THp0erLA7yLHHq4LJHIQAgytlcME5iCwtinQA_YQS43Ef_AcB7sFOZbxRYI0JmRggIrcU9dYPYpoVjSSf3ScRqVp-jHwORARuckjpf44KJwGI6maMRbr05fmUR-5q8r2WD9S8Aj84SjdnlvXCAJ4Y4-2OCI0wHzETV3kT0CFX28GbSNZSGSGn2rqZLqM.KvqmUEYJ9TSe5fk84rp4lrQZtx_h8cF0MLn90E2V3kw&dib_tag=se&keywords=throttle%2Bquadrant%2Bflight%2Bsimulator&qid=1710828111&s=electronics&sprefix=throttle%2Bquadrant%2Bflight%2Bsimulator%2Celectronics%2C89&sr=1-10&th=1) on Amazon, I'm considering it. Another I found is this [Logitech stick](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00009OY9U/?coliid=I3MB5H5T59KSJD&colid=1HS8IKF67OE39&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it), but this one appears to have a very small finger-slide throttle. Which would you find better, if either?
Throttle controls are praised
the throttles are pretty nice
I do, it started to drift a month into having it. I still use the throttle/prop/mixture levers only so I get some use out of my money.
Good entry-level flight control
Is this a good flight control for DCS? I was thinking about getting this for Christmas
Yes! if you dont have a HOTAS and wanna see if you like flight simming/dcs, its a great start.
The Logitech Flight yoke system with throttle looks promising because there are some good used deals.
Affordable for beginners
I'm using it for 5 years and still can't find anything bad in this HOTAS.
Improved build quality reported
I had one, and the switches started failing after about a year. Otoh, iv3 heard the build quality has improved.
Modified tension improves usability
I modified the tension in mine (replaced springs with rubber bands) and its much better.
the difference when I switched (just over the past few weeks too) was enormous.
I no longer have sensitivity or dead zone issues.
Compatibility with MacOS
Their websites says "SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows® 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, however, I've seen some [video] showing Logitech is just fine for MacOS.
It works on Mac, along with the throttle quadrant. However, if you get the switch panel as an add on, you’ll need a third party plugin.
Separate throttle and mixture controls
I like that it has separate throttle and mixture controls too.
Affordable option for budget-conscious buyers
I saw the hineycomb and thought nah.... 😂
Good experiences with Logitech products
i have lots of good experiences with them
Love it all, no complaints in close to 200 hours of flight with this setup
I have one, and I love it
Durable and long-lasting quality of X52 Pro
It keeps working without any issue.
Can be improved with modifications
The Logitech is ok, and can be made great with a few modifications
Effective scroll wheel fix
I waited for almost 7 days before posting, are there any other solutions or a possibility for me to claim warranty if yes I would be grateful.
I have had this issue for so many years. I usually just buy a new superlight when it gets worse. This fixed it, thanks!.
amazing, it really solved the problem, thanks man.
It was this simple all along, lol?! It worked for me too.
Simple solution for common issue
This is crazy, doing this worked for me, not sure how long until the problem will occur again, but it beats trying to disasemble the mouse and potentially messing something up.
My mouse has been like this for over a year and didn't know what the issue was. I reached a breaking point because I wanted to start b-hopping again. I had been trying to take apart my mouse with knives and random things to try and turn the screws for 30 minutes. Tried this out and it worked. Thank you!.
This actually worked...
loool it works for me

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Jerkiness and stickiness make the yoke unplayable
the "stickiness" and jerkiness of the Logitech yoke was borderline unplayable to me
It's glorious
Quality is inferior compared to other options
it's a great entry LVL yoke to start with. But that's exactly what a lot of people forget and get disappointed.
Thrustmaster T.16000 HOTAS had it since launch and it's worked solidly.
I was able to get my Thrustmaster t16000m + TWCS for around 100eur, the official price is 160 IIRC?
Is it just me or did Logitech used to be a paramount of quality in the PC peripheral world, and now they just use their brand and good image to shovel future e-waste down the throats of consumers?
Switches may fail over time
the only way you'll get anything slightly better from this yolk is to modify it as someone else mentioned
Quality not on par with premium options
Honestly the x52 is probably a better starter setup. It significantly cheaper and similar build quality.
The Honeycomb is FAR superior and most close to the feel of real aircraft - it’s not perfect, but it’s “positive” training, whereas I would consider the Logitech gear to be “negative” training.
Tight spring makes pitch adjustment exhausting
the push/pull axis was on such a tight spring, it was exhausting to adjust pitch.
you can soften it with a heavier silicone grease like nyogel
Lack of official Mac support for certain features
They all say they don't work with Mac... I started with the Logitech and ended up going to a Thrustmaster joystick.
Frequent failure of Logitech products
So much wasted money.
it will die on you after 12 months give or take a few
Preference for higher quality Honeycomb yoke
It may be a little more expensive but honeycomb are the bees knees when it comes to flight gear
Honestly, I would not waste my money on the Logitech yoke. It’s $100 more but it works really damn well.
Quality issues with Logitech X52 compared to other brands
The x52, unlike most logitech products doesn't yet have that level of quality to it.
Poor control and fragility
How good are the Logitech G Flight Rudder Pedals? I'm a beginner looking for decent rudder pedals and came across for a cheapish price.
Not good. Poor control. Fragile. Cheap Thrustmaster ones are even worse.
Quality difference with Honeycomb is significant
the difference in quality between logitech/ch and the honeycomb is far greater than the difference in price
Scroll wheel problem persists
I occasionally press hard on my wheel to make the scrolling more consistent but man do I feel dumb for not thinking about doing this.
I had the same problem for a long time, I solved the issue disabling the "enhance pointer precision" on the windows mouse settings.
I managed to open the assembly, and clean out all the gunk that's been trapped in there over 2 years of usage.

The specs and strengths that make it shine.

However, there are nowadays superior sticks on the market.
It's been great. I like that there's a lot of hats on the joystick.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Logitech yoke is considered a good entry-level option
Where in the re mapping menu is that feature located?
Comparison with other entry-level controls
Id say get logitech 3d pro if this was the case, wont hurt the wallet and is onpar with entry level stick like the ch stick and t16000m
Concerns over budget impact on choice
Interested in buying a flight simulator controller for fiancé starting flight school soon.
Price consideration impacts purchase decisions
I mean if I got the Logitech and then did the fixes I'd in the same price point as a Honeycomb almost....
The board is under $30, don't know what shipping to the US would be on top. But let's say it's double. $60. The Logitech yoke is $150, the honeycomb is $300?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Community discussions on flight control options
Depending on how high your desk is above the floor you may be able to hide a set of rudder pedals down there, if you really don't want pedals though maybe buy a HOTAS just for the rudder control
Concerns about rudder control limitations
It wouldn’t be ideal, but if you don’t need rudder trim, you could map the rudder to the horizontal rocker on the yoke.
I'm trying to figure out the same thing, and brakes too because I like to fly tail draggers and independent brakes are pretty important with those.
Community discussions favor Honeycomb yoke
Does the Honeycomb yoke have throttle controls?
Community reaction to unexpected fix
I was very skeptical but this worked pretty well.
Wow, this surprisingly seemed to work for my MX Master 3, the scroll wheel was stopping sooner that it should in hyperscrolling.
mother of god it did work lmao what the fuck
HOLY SHIT WHY DID THIS WORK
