What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Accurate control and sensitivity
The vkb sticks changed the game for me in combat and f/a off especially.
just upgraded to this from x52pro night and day difference i more accurate flying is more comfortable and im still trying to find things to bind to the stick hats so many keybind possibilities
I've had mine HotasX for over 3500 h of Elite, no problems whatsoever.
No Man's Sky VR and HOTAS Guide I've recently worked out how to get my HOTAS (Hands on Throttle and Stick) working with No Man's Sky while in VR mode, while retaining the Touch controllers while on the ground! Basically the (almost) pinnacle of playing this game in VR.
Comfortable and enjoyable experience
The value proposition here can't be beat imo.
I think you convinced me to buy that setup.
The experience is amazing and well worth the price.
Good button layout and customization options
A lot can be resolved with how you configure.
It feels like a totally different game and it becomes fun just to literally fly around.
Great starter HOTAS for beginners
if you dont have a HOTAS and wanna see if you like flight simming/dcs, its a great start.
Affordable option without sacrificing quality
I'm using it for 5 years and still can't find anything bad in this HOTAS.
Good for budget-conscious users
I'm on a bit of a budget for this so I don't need the best controller if it'll be incredibly expensive.
It's nice to see other people who enjoy flight sim who are also getting licenses!!
Customizable tension improves usability
I modified the tension in mine (replaced springs with rubber bands) and its much better.
The Honeycomb is FAR superior and most close to the feel of real aircraft - it’s not perfect, but it’s “positive” training, whereas I would consider the Logitech gear to be “negative” training.
I changed my game sensitivities and i have good results after the rubber band mod.
Customizable controls for enhanced usability
It wouldn’t be ideal, but if you don’t need rudder trim, you could map the rudder to the horizontal rocker on the yoke.
Promising option for budget-conscious users
Depending on how high your desk is above the floor you may be able to hide a set of rudder pedals down there, if you really don't want pedals though maybe buy a HOTAS just for the rudder control
Good amount of programmable controls
It's been great. I like that there's a lot of hats on the joystick.
Good beginner HOTAS option
it's a good beginner hotas but it will die on you after 12 months give or take a few
Stock templates available for popular HOTAS
Are there any Logitech X56 Throttle and Stick Profiles? I'm just starting to use the latest BMS release and interested to know if there are any prebuilt community profiles I can use or import for the subject to get me started?
The launcher has stock templates for many popular hotas .. X-56 is one.
Easy to map keys with provided templates
If you can't find one I would recommend finding the equivalent DCS profile and mapping that manually to BMS as a starting point.
There was a thread that suggested using one of the included ones for the x55 (I think) since the layout is identical.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Logitech yoke has 'stickiness' and jerkiness issues
the "stickiness" and jerkiness of the Logitech yoke was borderline unplayable to me
You can use them with any flight controls you like.
Mapping controls can be complex
Steam doesn't even see my T16000m as a controller, "no controllers detected".
Switches may fail after a year
the switches started failing after about a year
Not as realistic as higher-end models
No strong desire to pull it out tbh.
Reliability issues with Logitech products
So much wasted money.
Incompatibility issues with profiles from other brands
I think Saitel X56 and Logitech X56 are slightly different.
Some users have trouble loading profiles due to product ID changes
The product ID number was different, I don't know that it matters.
Joystick has roll control issues
I cannot, for the life of me, stop the fighter from spinning every time I want to turn or dive.
It is almost impossible to keep someone in your sights with the constant roll.
Difficulty in binding and calibrating controls
Your solution made all the difference, and having roll bound to A and D make it much easier to control the spacecraft.
I can also help you get the keyboard set up with the rest of the buttons.

Discussion on the best HOTAS for space sims
When it comes down to the best system for my price range, the "Thrustmaster T16000M FCS" and the "Logitech G Saitek X52," are about the same price online.
X52 marginally better built, won't suffer twist axis failure as much as t16k, but is sloppy and imprecise for control purposes on XYZ.
The throttle started acting up, and while there are more buttons and switches on the stick, they didn't last long.
A HOTAS will transform your gameplay. I highly recommend getting one.
Discussion about joystick vs. flight yoke terminology
I don't get it. The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is a budget joystick, not a flight yoke.
Sorry, I wasn't aware this was a budget stick nor the terminology difference.
Searching in Google for the 'Logitech Extreme 3D Pro' yields a joystick, not a flight yoke.
Inquiry about throttle lever usage and configuration
Tips for setting up Logitech Yoke I'll finnaly be reciveing my Logitech yoke and throttle quadrant this Monday, directly from Logitech
The 2 other levers are for propellors and mixture. I use the bottom 8 buttons for atc, checklist, camera views and flaps. What i cannot map are the "reverse" buttons for the levers. When i try to map them they unmap again by themselves immediatly.i would like to use them for example for reverse thrust or reverse propellor. Any tips?
I won't do mixture and probs :/ I'll leave that to automatically
My first tip is to unbind all of the view controls that MS sets as default on there. Bind flaps up/down to the left rocker and gear up/down to the middle rocker (throttle quadrant). I bound the third one to master battery and master alternator toggles because those are the most important switches to find at night. My second tip is to seriously consider using the three throttles as throttle/prop/mixture. It only takes a little time to get used to how those work and then you will find they really help.

Users modify controllers for better performance
Each little twitch of the control translates 1:1 into control movement in-sim, and on short final w/ a 17kt crosswind buffeting you around, even 1/4” of aileron dead zone is a huge annoyance.
Discussion on rudder control alternatives
BUT then I won't have rudder controls.
Exploration of HOTAS setups for flight simulation
I'm trying to figure out the same thing, and brakes too because I like to fly tail draggers and independent brakes are pretty important with those.

with gcloud i can play any game on geforcenow with my gcloud on hotel wifi.

User switching from X52 Pro to X56
Thanks for the head start!
User considering future use
I might use it in the future, thanks!
Comparison of X56 with other Logitech models
Id say get logitech 3d pro if this was the case, wont hurt the wallet and is onpar with entry level stick like the ch stick and t16000m
Honestly the x52 is probably a better starter setup. It significantly cheaper and similar build quality.
Logitech products compatibility with MacOS
Their websites says "SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows® 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, however, I've seen some [video] showing Logitech is just fine for MacOS.
It works on Mac, along with the throttle quadrant. However, if you get the switch panel as an add on, you’ll need a third party plugin.
They all say they don't work with Mac... I started with the Logitech and ended up going to a Thrustmaster joystick.
Comparison to other joystick models
The X52 is a bit long in the tooth, though it has enough buttons and hats to simulate most of the modern aircraft in DCS.
Discussion about shipping issues with Logitech products
Looks like Logi didn't give them my full shipping address for some reason.
I hope they can implement hot-swapping with a firmware update.
User experiences with gameplay using different control methods
You could go into the Controls section of the Options menu, and then click on "Remap Controls" for your Flight stick, and unbind your Roll axis from the joystick.
I use a T16000M joystick and TWCS throttle (both made by Thrustmaster) to play this game and bound everything myself so I would know what to hit when the time came.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Users share various joystick preferences
It's glorious.
Thrustmaster T.16000 HOTAS had it since launch and it's worked solidly.
Roll can be bound to the X-Axis of your Joystick (at least with the Saitek X52 Pro).
Discussion on alternative flight gear options
I really like the new Honeycomb yoke too, but being almost $100 more it is a bit more than I am willing to spend right now.
It may be a little more expensive but honeycomb are the bees knees when it comes to flight gear.
Honestly, I would not waste my money on the Logitech yoke. It’s $100 more but it works really damn well.
So the general consensus is honeycomb? I nearly got the Logitech for €100 on amazon but saw the hineycomb and thought nah.... 😂
Mixed reviews about the Logitech X56
Opinions on the Logitech X56 stick and throttle? I recently started showing alot of interest towards flight sims like DCS, MSFS etc.
You rather should go for a T16000m. Then save up some money, and swap the T.16000m stick with a VKB, Winwing, or Virpil stick.
Not the best, if you can get it on sale below €200 it may be a solid deal but I wouldn't spend more on it.
i so badly wanted a warthog, but after there's been a mad cat in the mix, i want none of it
