Snoop's Take

The COROS PACE 3 GPS Sport Watch is a lightweight and comfortable running watch designed to enhance athletic performance with its advanced GPS tracking and extensive activity modes. Users have praised its impressive battery life, with many stating, "Battery life is _very_ good... I ended with 62% battery life," highlighting its endurance for long training sessions. Despite some criticisms regarding GPS accuracy and the lack of streaming music services, the overall sentiment leans positively, making the COROS PACE 3 a recommended choice for those seeking a reliable sports watch.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Lightweight and comfortable design
The Pace Pro solves all these issues, and provides some modernizations and creature comforts too.
GPS on this Garmin is terribly compared with Coros.
Accurate GPS with dual-frequency technology
the weight difference I think is humongous and with a comparative advantage on the battery life.
I always use dual frequency for my runs.
Impressive GPS performance
GPS tracking has been off lately.
This looks pretty impressive for a gps watch if track mode isn’t viable.
User-friendly features
This is something that is commonly brought to our developers- to be able to use track mode on shorter than 400m standard tracks.
I think the Pace 2 is the best watch in the market right now in regards to pricing and features.
Excellent battery life
Battery life is _very_ good. I did a 51 mile, just under 4 hour ride yesterday. I started with 63% battery life... and ended with 62% battery life. 1% battery loss in 4 hours!
Honestly I think my only complaints are my first silicon watch band ripped at the attachment site, which was mostly my fault for being too rough with it in 6 months, but i could order cheap replacement bands on Amazon.
Pace 2 battery is much better, and has all the functions I need to run and train at 80+ miles per week. Its a lot lighter too!
Improved app and screen layout
Love the app and the screen layout - much improved over my Wahoo Elemnt in terms of readability during a ride.
Unrealistic battery life claims
Battery life over 2 weeks. Mileage may vary using features on watch though.
Thanks - the Pace 2 I ruled out because of the size (42mm), but I had never heard of the company before, so it's good to know that the battery life they claim on their website is not completely unrealistic.
Simplicity of the app interface
Simplicity with what the app shows you
Long battery life
For a watch that will track over 24 hrs COROS is so much cheaper.
Comfortable fit on wrist
the apex sits much better on my wrist than the Fenix.
Great for running
It doesn’t give me non-sense(unuseful) data as much as Garmin, that requires 24/7 wearing.
Battery life is impressive and suitable for long events
The battery on the Apex is pretty game changing tbh.
Certainly ticks the long battery life at a lower cost them some of the others which have navigation.
Accurate GPS tracking for cycling
Overall I would say it definitely gets the job done and it hasn’t given me any data that seems way off while riding.
it was basically on point for almost every single turn within a few feet.
Useful breadcrumb navigation for trails
I often wish I could navigate on my watch vs pulling out my phone to pull up AllTrails, Maps.me, etc.
If you run trails/hike, or have complex routes you're interested in running in areas not familiar to you, it's extremely useful.
Most of the time I use Strava generated routes or routes from sites like alltrails.
Ability to add waymarks/checkpoints
if a person can’t find their way with breadcrumbs, check points, course deviation alerts, and elevation markings, they might need more help than any watch can give them IMO.
Phenomenal battery life due to MIP display technology
The Pace 3's MIP (Memory In Pixel) display is a technology choice that is largely responsible for it's phenomenal battery life.
Great set of features across the watch/app
it's a great set of kit - in particular that heart rate band and so much to like about various features across the watch/app/website
Accurate data for various activities
Great data that I’ve compared to some gold standard testing protocols (vo2, hr zones, threshold) is all very accurate.
Quick GPS connectivity
I heard the gps connects super quick...which was a pain for me in my last garmin 245
Yeah GPS is basically instant but when you’re running it switches between data things automatically so i have to swipe when i’m running but i just ran a 5k and it slowed me down looking at pace, might be a way to customize it though.
Comfortable and lightweight design
It’s a pretty simple, comfy, accurate running watch.
Great value for the price
For the price it’s an absolute bargain.
User-friendly Coros app
I personally found Coros' dial much more pleasant to use than the 5 buttons on the FR.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Lack of streaming music services
the lack of streaming music services and payment were bigger dealbreakers than I thought.
GPS tracking issues
Just use track mode for track sessions
Inaccurate GPS tracking
The GPS misses by hundreds of meters although I use the most accurate 'Dual Frequency' measurement.
We are sorry to hear that your GPS has not been accurate.
My gps seems to be about 100-200m off for the first 10'ish km.
The GPS was inaccurate around 100m for a couple of kilometers, even the elevation was off by 200m.
Breadcrumb navigation can be insufficient
In my experience having a breadcrumb route is definitely helpful but often not sufficient.
Inaccurate training intensity estimates
And the training intensity estimate is way off.
Cadence lock issues affecting heart rate accuracy
My actual HR was probably in the 150s but the Pace 3 registered it as 170s due to my cadence.
GPS lag for current pace tracking
Apparently the GPS lag on coros is significantly more for current pace which might be frustrating.
Can anyone comment on the pace lag? Seems illy to have to buy a pod 2.
pace lag is the only thing that is keeping me away from Pace 3!

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about Decathlon watch series and its relation to COROS products
Unfortunately I couldn’t find any further details what the processor upgrade means☹
Interesting, here in Canada they only have the 500 version here, which is a copy of the Pace (and/or Pace2)
It’s a heck of a price if it retains all of the original apex characteristics, with improvements where it lacked behind.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about different GPS modes and their usage
What gps mode do you use? Is there a significant difference between these modes except battery consumption?
Basically you should use "All systems on" most of the time unless you need to save battery, then use "Standard".
Discussion on track mode usage
Tbh, I think that looks quite good.
Use of RunGap for data transfer
You should be able to use RunGap to export over your Garmin Data to Coros.
Or you can use RunGap to export your Coros data into Garmin (if you like the Connect app/website) - RunGap will add a fake Garmin device to the Coros data so Connect thinks the activity was created by a Garmin device.

Discussion on watch size for small wrists
Smaller than 36mm would be lovely, but such a thing doesn't seem to exist in the world of GPS watches, so I can make do with 40mm...
Discussion about transitioning from Garmin to Coros
Ultimately it's hard to go wrong with either.
Preference between Garmin and Coros
Garmin or Coros Is it worth leaving the garmin and going to Coros(pace 2)?
I left Garmin after a decade of blind following. Just sold my Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar. Got Pace 2 and Pod2 and couldn’t be happier!
Comparison of GPS performance between running and cycling
I ask as my current Garmin Forerunner 30 has some glaring inconsistencies between cycling and running for gps tracking.
Comparison with Garmin models and features
Should I buy the pace 3? Hey everyone, I’ve been eyeing the Coros Pace 3 as it seems like a no-frills option that fits my needs.
It is more than ok. I've had few Garmin in the past and even if Coros lacks some minor features I think that a Pace watch is good enough to support many people for their training.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about early product release and reviews
Apparently the first real Coros Dura review I have had the device for three or four days now and hav
Good solid review.
I think some issues will be easy to fix but others might take quite a while.
The routing wasn't working as expected.
Impact of weather on GPS accuracy
What GPS setting you have? Also is it Cloudy that day?
Discussion about the Coros community forum and its issues
I think an underlying theme here is the direct comparison to Apple Watches and products.
the 'sports watch' should be killing the smartwatch and its the other way round right now.
It is the best workaround here (assuming I understand correctly) would be to import the workout into your Training Hub and then switch the units over to your preferred style there.
Discussion on software updates for both watches
The Forerunner 255 offers more features and metrics for being at the same price.
