Snoop's Take

The Headlamp Rechargeable by BIAT is a versatile lighting solution designed for various outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and cycling. With its innovative 230° wide beam design and motion sensor capabilities, users can enjoy hands-free operation while illuminating their surroundings effectively. Consumer feedback highlights the headlamp's solid waterproof construction and lightweight design, with many praising its bright illumination and wide beam features. One user noted, "This light is very bright and lasts me a long time," while another appreciated the design, stating it offers a better view compared to traditional headlights. However, some users have reported issues with battery connectivity and complicated features that can hinder usability, with one user expressing frustration that their headlamp "shuts right off immediately" after pressing the button. Overall, despite some concerns regarding functionality and usability, the BIAT Headlamp Rechargeable is generally recommended for its category due to its innovative features and positive feedback regarding brightness and comfort.

Solid, waterproof. I expected to find the tap-to-bright a problem, but haven't.

Positive Feedback

Black Diamond headlamps are crap! I had to throw away several and finally changed brands.... They are not waterproof, they lose battery connectivity, they are too complicated, their red light sux, they are large and heavy.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Solid and waterproof construction
Solid, waterproof. I expected to find the tap-to-bright a problem, but haven't.
Can you recommend a headlamp that doesn't suck? It's that time of year, the REI Dividend! One of the things I'd love to get is a headlamp that doesn't suck.
Lightweight and comfortable design
Thank you for recommendation. I just bought them on Ali and saved a bundle.
I’m thinking of getting a SEBO Felix, but one thing that bums me out is the lack of headlights.
I rigged up a LED strip with a AA Battery Holder.
I am looking for a headlamp that is really bright. Basically, do you know those bright handheld spotlights that people use on boats while frogging and hunting gators?
Wide beam and spotlight feature is appreciated
Any experience with it? The fact I can’t find any posts or mentions of them makes me think they’re garbage.
My guess is that since it wraps around the forehead, some of the light “bulb” is on the temples, adding some light to your peripheral beyond 180degrees.
A light can't be worse than no light but I imagine a slightly higher intensity light might be better? I never thought of attaching a light to a vacuum.... My mind has been blown.
Bright illumination with wide beam
This light is very bright and lasts me a long time.

Battery connectivity issues reported
Black Diamond headlamps are crap! I had to throw away several and finally changed brands.... They are not waterproof, they lose battery connectivity, they are too complicated, their red light sux, they are large and heavy.
Complicated features that hinder usability
The current iteration of black diamond head lamps are good but avoid at all costs the ones with the “power tap” function.
I don't want green, or blue, or blue flashing to green! I want white, low and high and maybe red low and high.
I get a bit confused with their marketing that it gives a 230° light? Wouldn’t that mean it’s lighting up bits behind you as well…?
Headlamp shuts off immediately after pressing the button
Headlamp issues Does anyone know why my headlamp doesn’t stay on? I press the button and it shuts right off immediately.
the light kept shutting off when I was trying to carry a $$$$$ telescope without tripping, and the light would shut off after a few seconds, when I needed it the most AT NIGHT!
Battery save function is problematic
Did you buy the headlamp that has a daylight sensor built in that will shut the headlamp off automatically in 3 minutes?
Negative overall quality feedback
These headlamps are absolute shit. Klein has fallen off.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about lightweight options for headlamps
Lightweight headlamp that can withstand sweat for 2hrs
I know you said headlamp, but here’s a chest lamp that I use and it lasts hours and is very bright.
Can the best be made super tight? I got a reflective ie light-up vest from Amazon and even on the smallest setting it is too big and falls off my shoulders.
The chest strap is nice and snug and adjustable and doesn’t slide around at least for me.
Anticipation of new product release
Jib x PL x BIAT head lamp drop coming soon.
Discussion on preferred headlamp features
Looking for a headlamp for some night hiking. Any suggestions?
not hard connected to the strap aka if strap breakes or need to change that, you don't have to buy new lamp
Discussion about the importance of red light modes for night vision in sailing
Has a mode with a red light - VERY important as usually we sail with no lights to preserve night vision.
Discussion about low white light modes for preserving dark adaptation
a very low white mode actually works better for preserving dark adaptation in most situations.
Recommendation for a headlamp model with versatile features
it seems to be able to do a little bit of everything and the reviews are great!
Preference for focused beam for specific tasks during hiking
When hiking, I prefer a more focused beam, especially when I'm trying to spot the next trail blaze/marker.

Discussion on the value of expensive vs cheap headlamps
Do you legitimately think it’s worth the upgrade? I’ve been having really good luck with those super cheap 2/$20 rechargeable headlamps over the last few years and am having a hard time rationalizing spending $75 on the Storm.
In my experience yes. The cheap headlamps I have had in the past were not even remotely as good.
I am trying to find a bulletproof Led headlamp that is USB-C rechargeable, has a red night light and that remembers what color was on when I turned it off and goes back to that color.
I love it! It’s defiantly a bit heavier and a bit bulkier than your black diamond or petzel but I’ve had it for at least 6 years and it’s still my go to.
Discussion on headlamp recommendations and comparisons
Reliable, rechargeable, long battery life, good brightness, and a spare fully charged battery doesn’t add much weight.
I find that there are 2 cases that I need light in: 1) I need blinding brightness for route finding, snow condition assessment from the base of a couloir, etc 2) I just need a bit of light to keep me on the trail until the sun comes up and then maybe a bit on the other end too if it's a longer day or things don't go to plan.
I definitely think some pair of lights like this is probably the ideal combo
Petzl Actik works great for me. Not perfection, but definitely good enough.
Mention of other brands and models
I like it is dimable, rechargeable, light and has a very good fit that's easy to adjust.
Many to choose from. I have a Bindi and a Tikka model and both have been great, lightweight and pretty durable.
Purchase decision for a different headlamp model based on personal preference
Hoping I will convert some other hikers to Zebralights on my next trip.

Cautionary Callouts

Concerns about headlamp overheating
Does it get hot against your forehead?
Discussion about headlamp brands and preferences
The one in the picture? I'm a Fenix fan and this was the first one popping up when I search on Amazon "Fenix headlamp".
My 8 years old Zebralight H600 mk II is still the best headlamp I have ever had.
