Consumer sentiment about the Hover-1 Drive is mixed, with many users praising its enjoyable ride experience and affordability. However, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with quality issues, stating, "low quality, low performance and low satisfaction," indicating that experiences can vary significantly. What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
User satisfaction with the product's performance
no issues and no problems with the folding and unfolding like many say.
You have luck and some people don't?
Good performance for the price
for the price it is a fantastic little scooter.
Yea, it's pretty good, I got it second hand for about 200 bucks.
Fun ride experience
I know it's very entry level but I wanted to see if it was something that was worth investing in and at $99 it was hard to pass up.
I have the Hover-1, It is a fun ride and surprisingly I've managed to get between 18-20 on it.
Affordable price point for basic features
So it's an m365 for $199?
Easy to learn and control
A perfectly working one is just about the same as a bike.
riding a normal unicycle is completely different and incomparable to these.
Fun to ride
Very, very fun that is
How the actual fuck is he hopping that thing up a curb with just his feet like that?
Affordable price for dual motor performance
Is Hover-1 Journey too good to be true? For a dual motor that sort of price is a steal.
Positive feedback on range for the price
the range is quite nice
Built-in rechargeable battery is a notable feature
it has a built in rechargable battery on their wow what a product they thought of everything
Long-lasting durability for some users
God damn, this scooter lasted you 4 years? That is impressive, many people only get 2 years or so of actual use from low end electric scooters.
Good performance for heavier riders
It should hold up if you drive carefully.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Low quality and performance issues
low quality, low performance and low satisfaction.
Seriously , I'd estimate it had 4000 miles on it.
the hover board just isn’t meant to be anything other than a stand on device.
the buggy just never seemed worth it in the end.
Customer service issues with Hover-1
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
Quality control issues reported
Battery parasitic drain issues, paper thin tires and throttle lag
It actually only goes 14/15mph, has 8.5" tires, no speaker, etc.
Poor quality control leading to defective products
They are a marketing company first, dressing up bad electronics in nice plastic.
High cost compared to perceived value
It looks like Best Buy is selling these for $1,500 now. That seems really high for what you get.
Issues with battery life and charging
my blackhawk hover 1 does not fully charge (most likely due to battery cells going out of balance.)
Poor customer service experiences
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
Bad mileage and ride quality compared to price
Bad mileage/ride quality for the amount paid.
Error code issues reported
Error code 2 on hover 1 Journey 2.0
Limited range on full charge
I bought one as well. So far, been only able to squeeze about 4 miles right off charging.
Auto shut-off feature is annoying
I got my Hover-1 Pioneer and the auto shut-off is really really annoying.
I highly recommend you do and just get an M365.
Low performance on hills
It reset on after a little riding on even mild hills, e.g. it would just beep and turn off.
I wouldn't recommend this scooter for anyone who goes up hills.
Had to return due to quality issues
The gotrax gxl was just so much better in grunt and top speed
Misleading speed specifications
Mine is in the mail and is going back unless it goes 18 like it said when I ordered
You'll be lucky to get to 15mph.
High risk of injury
Almost lost my leg on one of these.
My uncle died from a massive brain bleed after crashing on one of these... No helmet either.
Difficulty in braking and sudden stops
I find it hard to believe braking would be adequate.
How are you gonna fare against a car when you get hit?
Legality issues on public roads
They are also illegal on public roads, as they require insurance to be used on the roads and funnily enough nobody will insure them.
Yeah I believe there's a legal difference between electrically assisted (e.g. ebike) and pure electric scooter, bike, this etc. and there's ongoing calls for electric scooters to be privately insurable, there are scooter rental companies that are appearing round the UK that have their own corporate insurance.
Poor customer service and warranty support
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
Concerns about battery quality and performance
You couldn’t give me a 8 inch scooter they suck ride quality is crap small wheels are dangerous
Connector issues leading to malfunction
The two connections were melted together so I had to cut both wires and splice them in which was unsuccessful.
Depending on the cause of that, you may just need a new connector.
You have a dead short somewhere which is why the connectors melted.
Potential battery problems after wear
I just spliced in the wires from the control module to the battery and deleted the yellow connector as I didn’t have a new one.
Risk of fire from poor quality connectors
Don't go with the cheapest thing you can find. That's how you start fires.
Loud power on voice
Can you turn down the "Power On" voice on the hoverboard? My nephews just received a Jetson hoverboard for Christmas and the lady's voice for "power on" and everything else is SO loud.
Power on/power of volume is TERRIBLE!!!
Reduced range for heavier riders
Typically the range is also estimated at 15 mph with 150 pound rider.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Concerns about the scooter's foldability and design
weird lack of a folding latch
you can just tell it wasn't made to be folded down and brought back up over and over.
Conversation about future electric scooter models
And after 2 years, we will welcome you to the Kaabo Mantis family.
Inquiry about phone app availability
It would be great if there was a way to flash the firmware on this especially given that it has to be very similar to Xiaomi's.
Inquiry about battery location
Question anyone know where the battery is?

Discussion about alternative models and their reliability
I am really enjoying the scooter.
I'm now wondering if I should put my money towards a more reliable single motor scooter.
I’d say that it would definitely perform a lot better on harsher terrains than the Dualtron Mini.
I'll sacrifice ~5mph for safety.
Assembly and initial unboxing experience
Scooter came double bored, minor damage to the center and bottom of both boxes.
Discussion on warranty and return issues
everything needs adjustment ,tune-up and regularly check and following what manual suggests to do or not.
Discussion about maintenance tips for the wheels
I strongly suggest immediately sliming the tubes. These wheels are not easy to work on, and the longer you can delay having to fix punctures the happier you'll be.
Discussion on price fluctuations
Seems the stock keeps cycling in and out, I've seen them multiple times back down to $150 again.
Comparisons with traditional bicycles and scooters
Bikes (and trikes) are the safest in comparison.
This guy seems to be doing 40 mp/h.
Inquiry about FAQ for beginners in the PEV world
Realistically, if I get a scooter rated at 220lbs, am I definitely going to wear it out/have it break on me, or is that more of a range efficiency thing from the manufacturer?
Discussion about alternative models for higher weight capacity
Might wanna take a look at the inmotion L9, its has a max rider weight of 310lb

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about hoverboard durability
I am looking for a reputable manufacturer that will hopefully produce a hoverboard that will last for a long time but also if I have issues take care of them properly.
Discussion about safety regulations
Meanwhile some cities like San Diego require a full driver license for even a rental unit, but in Arizona you just pretend to be a bike
