What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
User satisfaction with no issues reported
no issues and no problems with the folding and unfolding like many say.
everything needs adjustment ,tune-up and regularly check and following what manual suggests to do or not.
Good value for price
For the price it is a fantastic little scooter.
Is Hover-1 Journey too good to be true?
Enjoyable riding experience
Broom broom! Enjoy it brother.
the range is quite nice.
Self balancing electric unicycle
I would like to see the dismount
Fun riding experience
I bought two Hover-1 Pioneer Electric scooters and they both have been flawless at this point minus a 1 bad charger which is getting replaced.
I have the Hover-1, It is a fun ride and surprisingly I've managed to get between 18-20 on it.
Easy to ride compared to unicycles
These are far easier to ride than a unicycle, I've had experiences on both
Especially since this one is described as an electric, self‑balancing one. Ofc it would be easier than a unicycle.
Fun to ride
Very, very fun that is
Not wearing a helmet and going fast in traffic on a bike, scooter, motorcycle, etc. is a great way to end up brain-dead in an ER.
Quick learning curve after initial difficulty
A perfectly working one is just about the same as a bike.

Long-lasting performance
God damn, this scooter lasted you 4 years? That is impressive, many people only get 2 years or so of actual use from low end electric scooters.

Low quality and performance concerns
low quality, low performance and low satisfaction.
Seriously , I'd estimate it had 4000 miles on it.
It runs great as long as the weather is perfect, temperatures are perfect, road is perfect, no wind, and an EV charger every mile.
This sounds disastrous
Poor customer support and warranty issues
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
So crappy company that doesn't stand by their product.
Poor quality control and performance
They are a marketing company first, dressing up bad electronics in nice plastic.
High price for perceived value
It looks like Best Buy is selling these for $1,500 now. That seems really high for what you get.
The one sold by Best Buy? There are plenty of reasons. Some of the main reasons are:
Lack of secure folding mechanism
Nah i know it's foldable. but the videos i've seen of the scooter folding down, with the weird screw holding it in place that you have to twist out, to the stiffness of it when it folds down, to that strap being the only thing holding it together, you can just tell it wasn't made to be folded down and brought back up over and over.
Quality issues with charging and components
my blackhawk hover 1 does not fully charge (most likely due to battery cells going out of balance.)
Error codes reported
Error code 2 on hover 1 Journey 2.0
Limited range on inclines
I bought one as well. So far, been only able to squeeze about 4 miles right off charging.
Auto shut-off issue
I got my Hover-1 Pioneer and the auto shut-off is really really annoying.
I highly recommend you do and just get an M365.
Performance issues on inclines
It reset on after a little riding on even mild hills, e.g. it would just beep and turn off and I would have to wait a minute hefore turning it on again.
I've definitely had that happen with my Hover-1 Journey on hills, and I'd expect that would happen with the Pioneer too.
Incorrect speed specifications
Mine is in the mail and is going back unless it goes 18 like it said when I ordered
You'll be lucky to get to 15mph.
It actually only goes 14/15mph, has 8.5" tires, no speaker, etc.
High risk of injury
Almost lost my leg on one of these.
My uncle died from a massive brain bleed after crashing on one of these... No helmet either.
I would reccomend a helmet, and maybe sholder pads and... well... full armor.
Difficult to brake and control
well for one how you gonna stop abruptly without falling on your face or just being thrown.
Most of the time throwing you off cause your body isn't in a position ready to counteract that loss of velocity so you just bend forward and fall down.
Unsafe on public roads
They are also illegal on public roads, as they require insurance to be used on the roads and funnily enough nobody will insure them.
Yeah I believe there's a legal difference between electrically assisted (e.g. ebike) and pure electric scooter, bike, this etc. and there's ongoing calls for electric scooters to be privately insurable, there are scooter rental companies that are appearing round the UK that have their own corporate insurance .
Concerns about quality and performance
you couldn’t give me an 8 inch scooter they suck ride quality is crap small wheels are dangerous
Connector and control module failures
Found the no start problem on my Hover-1 Journey (M365) I’ll need a new control module & battery…
The two connections were melted together so I had to cut both wires and splice them in which was unsuccessful.
You have a dead short somewhere which is why the connectors melted.
Risk of fire from cheap components
Don't go with the cheapest thing you can find. That's how you start fires.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Enjoyment of riding experience
The sunset is fabulous and the ride was a breeze.
riding home through the sunset and evening breeze, just me and my e-scooter, chasing the fading light.
Getting a scooter changed my life.
User curiosity about app functionality
Is there a phone app for this, and how is it? I haven't been finding much information on this, or maybe it simply doesn't exist?
Comparison of electric scooters to traditional bikes
Bikes (and trikes) are the safest in comparison.
Discussion about battery location
Question anyone know where the battery is?

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Users consider using for casual rides
I work from home in Austin, TX and only use this scooter to ride with my daughter on hers so a huge investment for actual transportation isn't really needed.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Some users are considering alternatives for hilly commutes
Is there a comparable scooter you would recommend over the Hover-1 for a commuter that will need to clear ~15 degree inclines?
Comparison with other scooters
i ultimately went with the inmotion climber for perhaps better climbing power with the dual motors and because of the safer air filled tires
my brother actually bought the fluid and I'd recommend it. I should point out that it is very torquy in the sense that you'll launch when you press the accelerator the slightest so you really gotta be careful with you body weight positioning such as leaning forward when taking off or leaning back when braking or you will tip over or do wheelies lol
Suggestions for maintenance improvements
I strongly suggest immediately sliming the tubes.
Discussion about pricing and alternatives
Where did you purchase for $99?? I’ve been looking at this scooter for a while because I’m looking for my first escooter.
Discussion on pricing and sales
This is $148 today (cyber Monday). Tempting me, mainly for my kids.
Seems the stock keeps cycling in and out, I've seen them multiple times back down to $150 again.
Comparison to other models
The gotrax gxl was just so much better in grunt and top speed
So it's an m365 for $199?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Skepticism about practicality and safety
What could possibly go wrong?
Another one of those glozzy animated products that don't and won't exist.
Wow, this solves so many problems we don't have.
...the PT’s design may have been too durable for its own good. Its highly redundant nature may have been great for reliability and safety, but it also meant that a customer might not have to replace their transporter for decades.
Discussion on safety and legality
I just think they should be legal somehow as they would decongest out roads so much in cities.
Personal anecdotes about riding experiences
They look really cool, are extremely portable, very fast, and you have a pretty good amount of control if you’re skilled and safe.
Always ride responsibly
Discussion on repair experiences and challenges
Depending on the cause of that, you may just need a new connector. Or a new connector and a new controller. Doubt you'll need a new battery.
I just spliced in the wires from the control module to the battery and deleted the yellow connector as I didn’t have a new one. After I did this repair it would turn on for about 2 seconds then turn off.
Looks like just a bad connector. I remember that the Ender 3 3D printers had issues with cheap knockoff XT60 connectors melting (it consumes up to 240w at 24V). Looks like yours is one of those connectors.
