Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Experiences with using parchment paper at high temperatures
It may darken (or blacken at 550), but no flame or flavor transfer for me.
It'll definitely scorch at that temp but probably won't erupt into flames.
I've used parchment papers well above their heat tolerance and they just scorch a little.
It gets a little brown, and a little brittle, but never smokes or catches on fire.
Baking tips and inspiration from King Arthur sourdough
One to cool properly and the other to eat the entire thing straight out the oven, smothered in butter.
This gives me hope. 2023 goal is to step up my bread game.
Discussion on King Arthur flour quality and packaging
The King Arthur is almost certainly much better quality though.
B-but don’t you appreciate the pretty packaging?
Cookie cutting innovations and baking support praise
Oh my god, how did I never think of this: A tip for cookie cutting from King Arthur Flour
WOW! My sugar cookies always look a bit wonky because the dough gets warm and stretches when I try to spatula it to the cookie sheet.
Switch em out in the freezer and now you can transfer your cookies without breakage or stretching.
...well, looks like I'm about to go bake some stupid cookies with this golden piece of knowledge

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Diverse outcomes for King Arthur Baking’s recipe of the year
They may be my perfect chocolate cookie.
I thought they were good, but nothing exceptional.
Generic mention of using parchment paper in recipes
I use parchment paper.
Nostalgic and versatile uses for wax paper in food prep
Stupid question but what is wax paper for if you can't bake on it?
people used to wrap sandwiches in it before sandwich bags.
It's just so much more satisfying and heart warming to unwrap a sandwich with the stuff rather than plastic or foil.
Yup I'm old and that's what we did and I still wrap sandwiches in it.

Positive feedback on King Arthur gluten free flour and mixes
KA is the best I've used.
non GF friends haven’t been able to tell they’re GF cakes.
Diverse product and store recommendations from King Arthur store
I love their pumpernickel and rye flours!
If you're looking at ingredients, their dough enhancer, pretzel salt, and pizza seasoning have all been winners for me.
If you're in the New England area, their headquarters in Vermont is worth a visit!
Appreciation for King Arthur's diverse product offerings
The things I order from KA are the harder to find or rare ingredients.
Reminder to restock King Arthur parchment paper after discount mention
Ooh that's my Costco. Thanks for the heads up.
Pizza recipe technique adjustments and pan handling tips
Absolutely loved the result and highly recommend trying it with '00' flour.
Would still chow down and drink a beer, but a little char is needed.
I don't think the video did it justice, as it was actually crispier than it appeared.
I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Chemical safety concerns around parchment paper (PFOA/PTFE and PFAS discussions)
I don't know if I've ever seen one with it, so all of them?
Regular brands are all treated with forever chemicals for non stick, like Paperchef, etc.
Conclusion of this very limited study was that some brands tested positive, but in very small amounts.
There's no PTFEs or PFOAs involved in making parchment paper as far as I'm aware.
Baking challenges with King Arthur’s GF brownie mix
have y’all ever had it just not bake!?! Like legitimately just stay liquid even after baking for like an hour?
I def have to cook it longer but it cooks eventually.
What type of pan are you using? Use a metal pan.
I have definitely cooked them double the recommended time but the middle stays pretty fudgy.
