Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about climbing destinations and experiences
Literally lived in a secluded village just for climbers!
Pretty neat looking place!
This has been on my list for a long time, just moved a lot higher on my list
How's the wifi? Would it be doable to climb by the day and work by the night?
Discussion on crag packs and their capacity
They are so many back but what is the best?
It's super light, comfortable and fits everything I ever need.
It swallows everything! For me it’s also comfortable to carry.
I have the Blue Ice Moonlight 55l and 35l and consider it a great backpack for carrying gear to the crag and longer approaches.
Rope bags keep the rope clean while climbing.
The bag function isn't that handy for carrying the rope to the crag, but is very convenient when transitioning from one route to the other.
Since owning a rope bag, I hardly ever coil my rope anymore.
The tarp does keep it clean when it's laying on the ground as you give or take slack.

Discussion on proper rope storage techniques
How do I best store my Rope So I have bought a new rope a few weeks ago, my question: How do I store it best over a longere period of time like a few Month?
Dry, dark place. This is the most important. Uv light eats into the rope.
How do you feel about hanging a coiled rope indoors? Is indirect sunlight enough to damage a rope over time, or is that overthinking things?
What about a rope bag in my trunk
Discussion about traveling with climbing gear on planes
Think this will be ok on a delta flight? Any experience with doing this?
I've carried them on a few times. One TSA guy took it out, asked how much rope there was, asked his supervisor, and she said, "what is he going to do with 200 ft of rope, let it through...".
Both times, they ended up not giving a shit.
I told them what it was for and they let me through.
General comments on gear organization
The pack looks cool. How is it organized? Is gear storing good?
It just one big section inside. So I use super light dry bags to organise everything if I need to but most of the time I don't.
Looks pretty versatile.
It’s big enough for what you listed but light enough to carry anywhere.
Considerations for travel with climbing gear
It's simple, affordable and should be tough but I'm wondering if it's at all waterproof/repellent?
General discussion about climbing gear preferences
Hello Reddit! I make chalk bags. I started about a year ago and I'm looking for ways to improve my design.
Size is the first think i look for. I’ve got big hands and there’s plenty of bags around that I can’t fit my whole hand in.
That's something I hear a lot. I make my bags with a wide mouth and about 7 to 7 1/2 inches deep.
I have been searching for something suitable, and all I find is tethers.
Rope bags are more useful for crag climbing than alpine climbing.
Rope bags are used mainly by crag climbers so you can bring the rope to the crag without awkwardly shoving it into your backpack and so you can keep it clean on the ground.

Cautionary Callouts

General discussion about climbing gear from Decathlon and Simond.
They're UIAA rated but I'm wondering if anyone here has personal experience with Simond ropes and maybe their other climbing gear?
I got my last climbing rope from them. It's a 70m and 9.5mm in diameter. I really like it, very smooth and very easy to undo the knots after being weighted.
It's a totally legit french brand with a lot of experience. I wouldn't worry at all.
You get what you pay for !
General discussion about climbing gear storage methods
Need ideas for rope storage. I use all of them regularly for varying situations.
Just as depicted
Bam. Perfect gear storage
Shibari - you'll need a few people for all those ropes, though.
