Snoop's Take

The Original Tumbler Rolling Knife Sharpener™ is a compact, innovative tool designed to restore and maintain the razor-sharp edge of your kitchen knives. It uses a diamond grit system and a proprietary stainless steel helix disc to offer precise, dual-angle sharpening at 15° and 20° with minimal fuss. Consumers have a love-hate relationship with this gadget. Many applaud its simplicity and convenience, with one user noting, “If you don't want to learn sharpening it's a solid option,” while others grumble about its high price and inconsistent performance. The reviews reflect a mix of admiration for its clever design and frustration over its value, with comments like “You can’t beat the convenience” juxtaposed against critiques of its durability and cost. Overall, the Tumbler Rolling Knife Sharpener™ is recommended for novices and those seeking a quick fix in home kitchens, though professionals and budget-conscious users might find its performance and price lacking compared to higher-end alternatives.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
User-friendly and effective for routine knife sharpening
Allin all, no, it doesn't suck as much as a pull through, and no, it's not as good as a whetstone.
If you don't want to learn sharpening it's a solid option.
You can’t beat the convenience.
Situationally useful, but expensive for what you get.
Innovative, simple design concept
I love the simple idea and lo-tech of this little invention.
I love the idea.
Effective sharpening for routine use (better than pull‐through models)
It's better than a pull through sharpener but worse than an assisted sharpener such as a kme or wspa elite.
Attractive, classy design and build quality
It looks kinda classy with the wood and steel and so on. It looks hefty and meaty, you know?
Responsive customer support (replacement service)
they’re replacing it. Apparently they think it’s a water problem, but we never got ours wet.

Overpriced for its value
How expensive is expensive?
It felt expensive to me at the time Hah.
Limited functionality for varied knife sizes
For $100 just get a Chef's choice, KME or Lanskey.
Inconsistent sharpening performance and quality issues
Horrible product, even worse customer service.
Damn, that Tumbler is hot garbage.
Cosmetic inconsistencies
Slight color variations in the wood parts but that's my only complaint so far.
Overpriced for its performance and value
It's legit, it does work, but it is the sort of thing which ought to sell for about $10.
I think the claim in the video is highly suspect, but I'd actually try one, just for the hell of it, if they were around $20.
absolutely dogshit in terms of value but better than a pull through if you get one for free.
Rolling mechanism issues and inconsistent sharpening angle
Don’t waste your money. About 4 weeks into it, the sharpener started catching and not rolling smoothly.
Gimmicky design with a consumer‐grade build quality
Man, people love their gimmicks. That tumbler thing looks silly.

Broad discussion on sharpening techniques, alternative jigs, and market comparisons
Personally, I would take this jig over something like the HORL by a country mile.
from what I got made my knives about as dull as a butter knife.
I would *still* recommend you re-profile and micro-bevel.
It’s no wonder i couldn’t apex my knife since each side of the knife was at a different angle.
Discussion of alternative sharpening techniques using a belt sander
Takes me about an hour to do 20 knives of different types and size.
Don't you mean 3000 grit? I use a 5000/10000.

Sharpening method debate and freehand discussion
The horl is alright, but if you know how to freehand sharpen it's really not necessary.
Needless to say, I do not sharpen my own cutlery.
Store-bought is fine.
Search sub for “Horl”.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Copycat design and originality doubts
Finally someone who actually tried it and not just talk out of their ass.
Apparently a knock off of a German HORL sharpener.
Too bad it's so expensive.
