Snoop's Take

The Xball Inferno 68 Caliber Paintballs by GI Sportz are designed for tournament performance, offering exceptional markability and accuracy with a vibrant orange fill. Consumer sentiment reflects a mix of appreciation for the paintballs' reliability, with users noting, "After 8k balls I have yet to chop one," while also expressing frustration with the inconsistent quality and sizing issues reported over time. The feedback highlights concerns about the handling and shipping practices of Amazon for paint supplies, as well as the perceived decline in GI Sportz's product quality, leading to mixed recommendations regarding the product's overall value in the market.

After 8k balls I have yet to chop one, the loader improvements have been awesome.

Positive Feedback

Amazon would be almost my last choice, they don't know how to store, pack, or ship paint, so you have the highest chance of getting some shitty paint.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Good performance with no breaks
After 8k balls I have yet to chop one, the loader improvements have been awesome.
GI paint is good. Every field here in Colorado uses it. It's eco friendly, biodegradable, and comes off very easy.
Bright orange fill is preferred
because of how bright it is.

Amazon is unreliable for paintball supplies
Amazon would be almost my last choice, they don't know how to store, pack, or ship paint, so you have the highest chance of getting some shitty paint.
Amazon is an awful source for paint. They have no clue how to properly store, handle, or ship it, and they don't care enough to get a clue.
DPB was the peak of paintball gaming in the early mid 2000s. I got into this beta and it is pretty clunky.
High prices at Delta Force facilities
I feel like you do, the whole operation seems kinda scummy and profiting off newcomers naivety.
Marker functionality issues
it's pretty accurate as long as you remember which barrel the paint is coming out of.
I'm a bit disappointed. :(
Inconsistent paint sizing
and this is not the first instance of this i came back about 2 years ago at this point after a few years of not playing and i knew paint was getting smaller back then but i don't remember it being this bad
by all means, crap on GI Sportz. We're paying for it, we're the customers, and the manufacturer isn't delivering good paint. I've been having the same experience as you. Freakishly small paint recently.
I never had sizing issues with them but stopped buying it because any high-end paint was a complete crapshoot whether it would be good or not. All the other brands have great high-end paint all the time
Yeah, this was also our experience this summer with GI 3 star. The consensus seemed to be there's no difference with 2 star, and you can get really crappy inconsistent and out-of-round batches with any of these series, so it's not worth it to pay extra at least for 3 star.
Poor quality of GI paint
Quality field paint. I’m in the process of getting my business plan for a field dialed in and I’m lo
Overpriced for the poor quality.
Never had a good time with GI field paint.
Inconsistent quality among different GI paint types
I shoot 2 star every weekend and it is good enough for practice, consistently mediocre.
Poor customer service from GI Sportz
What ever happened to decent customer service?
Concerns over GI Sportz bankruptcy
I don’t like to see paintball businesses go under, but part of me wonders if this will lead to a break up of your monopoly type companies and a return to paintball’s golden days when there were dozens of manufacturers in the business
This makes sense. GI raided thier warehouse and shipped out the last of the GI stealths they had, sold all the old invictus to TMG. I am really at a loss for what this means for the sport.
A court-appointed receiver plans to sell paintball equipment makers G.I. Sportz Inc. and Tippmann Sports after they defaulted on $29 million of debt.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Quality and consistency vary by paint batch
There is no one best brand of paint, as freshness and local have massive impact on how well something shoots.
Shooting experiences across different paint brands
I had so many breaks I can’t form a opinion on the evil.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Preference for BYOP (bring your own paint) fields
we usually drive an hour and 20 to a field that is bring your own paint just to get away from the gi field paint honestly.
Anticipation for future game updates and content
This game is so fun, can’t wait to get some other fields and guns/updates.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Buying paintballs directly from local shops is preferred
Ideally buying paint in person from a shop or field that gets its supply directly from a distributor or manufacturer.
Price comparisons for paintballs vary by source
$43 sounds about standard for mid grade paint
Preference for local shops over online purchases
What paintballs do y’all use? Title pretty much sums it up.
I play with whatever the field or event I go to makes me play with.
Discussion about maintenance oil for paintball markers
I use the milsig SOS oil because that's what I have on hand, but any runny marker oil should work (don't use grease as that would obviously gum things up).
Positive feedback on the review quality
We do take kindly to helpful paintball reviews ‘round these parts !
Comparison of paint sizes across brands
It seems that GI is the one making stupid small paint from what I can tell.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Various brands have their own strengths
I’ve discovered my marker’s favorite is GI 5 Star and America United.
Most of the fields around me sell GI. I shoot 4 star, 5 star, Dynasty, and Evil pretty interchangeably.
Delta Force is not active in the US but has many locations in the UK
places like these are awful, but they can be very successful because many traditional fields are more awful.
Delta Force operates under different names regionally
but as far as I'm aware, it's a multi-national franchise, though they likely operate under different titles depending on the region, probably to prevent the countless poor reviews from hurting the entire operation.
The paintball industry has a poor record for growth and representation
Honestly, I've never heard if it, it might be more regional or local to you.
Players discussing their local paintball experiences
I look forward to possibly meeting you when the field reopens
Nostalgia for older paintball brands
I miss shooting the old empire evil and that rps magenta colored marballizer paint in the early early 2000s.
That sweet E on the box 🤌🏽 shoot even white box paint back then was better.
The shell was just different too. I never thought about it but i definitely miss the old paint.
I used to shoot marblelizer and all star only. They were almost perfect spheres and flew fucking straight.
Debate over the quality of paintballs
Is there really 5 different grades of paint or are we just getting bamboozled?
Discussion on game mechanics compared to real-life play
There’s a few different field layouts in the Speedball mode, one indoor CTF field, and another cool outdoor/more tactical field for King of the Hill game mode that has respawns
the mechanics are jarringly bad compared to real life technique. Did the people who made this actually ever go play paintball?
Concerns over GI Sportz bankruptcy
Just trying to put the pieces together, paintball news isn’t really easy to follow when you’re out of the game for years.
This is a logical place to look when it comes to paintball news.
Discussion about KEE Action Sports' customer service
that's a shame because KEE Action Sports(Empire, JT, Spyder) had great customer service.
Statistics on paintball participation
over 10 Million Americans paintball at least once a year, making it the third largest alternative sport in the USA.
Significantly less participation than other "alternative sports" like ultimate, skateboarding, firearm shooting sports, and bird watching.
Discussion about the monopoly in the paintball industry
Monopoly has begun. GI Sportz to buy KEE
Paintball is funny. It's the only sport with a community that believes they know everything about everything.
Now they'll own a very big percentage of teams, the biggest brand of paint (by far) and have the most popular paintball equipment (Axe, Tippmann, NXE gear, Empire clothes etc...)
