Just please for every pair of precious $50 high-fidelity earplugs, bring a handful of cheapo disposables so you aren’t scrambling on the ground when you lose that tiny translucent eargasm in the dirt.

This is the objective best solution. Others are talking about various consumer brands but all that stuff is just crap compared to plugs that are fit for you
The Pro high protection sound louder than the original medium protection, despite the db rating suggesting otherwise. The show was very loud to me, almost too loud, and the pros were on the edge of that.
Comfortable and soft material
Buy once, cry once.
Convenient packaging for sanitation
I just got my ears checked and got fitted for custom ear plugs while I was there. Can wait to try them. They fit perfectly.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for disposable earplugs for noise attenuation
If disposables have the best noise attenuation out of the bunch then that's what I'm going for.
Discussion on the comfort and fit of earplugs
Can you sleep on your side without them falling out? Also, I've tried wax earplugs which seem to offer the best sound reduction and comfort ratio, but they always fall out during sleep.
Foam attenuates more dBs, but it also affects the quality of the sound more (e.g., rolling off a lot more high-end).
Discussion on custom molded earplugs
I ended up just getting the molds and not their earplugs because I want to get the best earplugs i can get.
I got mine from [Etymotic](https://www.etymotic.com/product/custom-musicians-earplugs-with-attenuator/).
I’ve had ACS, ReSound and JH audio custom ear plugs and ACS were my favourite by a long shot.
My audiologist helped me order custom earplugs from Westone, and also IEM’s from Shure.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Value of custom earplugs over disposables
I use custom Westone ear plugs and they have been the best rave accessory I have ever owned in my entire life.
Value of individually wrapped earplugs for sanitation
100%. I'm partial to Moldex Goin' Green, 33 NRR (uncorded).
Preference for standard foam earplugs for beginners
Earplugs make a huge difference.
Preference for custom earplugs over disposables
I always get professional crafted custom ear plugs from an ear doctor. They cost about $140. Worth every cent.
They fit perfectly bc they’re molded to your ear. Concerts, mowing, sleeping, etc.
I am hesitant to have custom made ear plugs, because it looks like the noise cancelling is only 23 dB, whereas the Quies foam ear plugs say 35 dB.
I am happy to have ear plugs that fit me, comfortable and stay in and completely worth every penny I paid for them.
Discussion on safe listening periods with earplugs
-25db is a lot. -15db is pretty standard and what I, and most everyone I know uses.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Importance of disposable earplugs in loud environments
Just please for every pair of precious $50 high-fidelity earplugs, bring a handful of cheapo disposables so you aren’t scrambling on the ground when you lose that tiny translucent eargasm in the dirt.
100%, any hearing protection is better than none at all. Tinnitus sucks, I’m a vet and some days are better than others.
Great write up!! My problem with the Isotunes was having to replace the foam tips all the time and they were not cheap either.
It does nothing good to your hearing.
Complaints about earplug cases
My only complaint is the case is super easy to lose but other than that I think they're better than eargasm
Importance of hearing protection to avoid tinnitus
hearing protection is super important because whilst hearing loss is obviously to be avoided, it is nothing compared to the endless incurable torment of tinnitus.
Avoid tinnitus at all cost!
Challenges with earplug fit and retention
Getting them to fit where they stay put is a struggle but once they’re in good, they’re fine a while
General discussion about earplug options
A nice thing about them (and seemingly like a lot of others now) is they keep a 3D rendering of your mold to make or replace new ones or for In Ear Monitors.
Find NRR 33 earplugs. Buy a small pack and see what you like.
Loop. Comfortable and a god send for silence.
Concerns about comfort with non-custom earplugs
I mostly go to punk and metal concerts and sometimes nightclubs, so quite loud, and they last for about four hours at a time.
The strength you need depends on how loud the source is and how long you'll be exposed to it.
25 dB would be a better choice when being exposed for that long time, but I would be afraid that if you attenuate too much you will feel like you miss something and take them out.
Concerns about losing earplugs at events
Honestly unless you're not getting wasted at the festival /concert there's a high likelihood of you losing your earplugs at the festivities.
