Positive Feedback

My HL muffs are better overall with shotguns and pistols, but the muffs sometimes unseal when getting my head down on the stock, essentially ineffective.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Custom fit enhances comfort
Decibullz percussive moldable earplugs are designed to provide a custom fit and can be beneficial in offering hearing protection for shooting.
They don’t reduce the sound anywhere near either my cheap hardware earmuffs or Howard Leighton impact sports - both of which are supposed to have a lower nrr.
Thoughts on Decibullz earplugs Been looking to get some better/custom molded earplugs.
I use the percussive & like them, particularly for summer shooting.
Comfortable and effective for some users
I have had mine for a a couple of years and they’re much more effective and comfortable for me than muffs or other plugs.
Are you using the right piece for your ear canal? Cause I love mine.
Effective noise isolation for some users
Garbage. The molding piece is hard, and it gets uncomfortable fast.
Effective noise reduction for some users
I found that the noise reduction was more than enough on its own.
they work pretty good overall.
Effective noise reduction
I use Decibullz that reduce 31db, but I'm thinking about getting custom ones made from the audiologist.
Multiple options for ear tips included
Anyone use Decibullz ear plugs Looking for active noise cancelling plugs I can use for clays and hunting.
Improved sound detail retention
Absolutely no comparison to the ER20XS.

Not as effective as traditional earmuffs for some users
My HL muffs are better overall with shotguns and pistols, but the muffs sometimes unseal when getting my head down on the stock, essentially ineffective.
Issues with mold tightness affecting sound isolation
If you did the custom molding kind and it’s not blocking out more than your HL… I suspect your mold wasn’t tight.
Not effective for everyone
I just wear walkers razor slim with gel cups and never felt I needed more while shooting clay.
They've been fantastic, comfy, blocks out noise to a comfortable level but I can still hear what I need to.
May shift in ear during active use
they’d shift in my ear and audibly break the seal they create.
Not suitable for all users
I suspect the further in yours are, the more db they lower, so just don't put them in 100%.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Military interest in practicality
The DoD is currently looking into this capability in a hearing aid like device.
Discussion on comfort of ear protection methods
The Decibullz seem like they would be easier to insert and remove, and possibly easier to clean or remold if needed.
Only the densest of idiots walks up to a guy wearing big goofy ear muffs and tries to start a conversation.
I switch to plugs if I'm doffing a respirator - nothing seals correctly otherwise.
Discussion on ear protection necessity for riding
The difference is night and day. If you’re struggling with wind noise while riding, foam earplugs are a game-changer.
I think earplugs are essential for long distance touring and at high speeds.
Yup. My friend introduced me to these. He said he got tinnitus because of wind noise.
With years of riding, even Bosky himself has an ear issue. Ear protection is must.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on ear protection layering
Decibullz Ear Plugs I see two versions: normal and percussive.
Idk which ones I have but I only use the plugs no earmuff.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison with other earplug brands
Of course, they only last like 4-5 hours and would be $$ to lose but in a pinch they are an alternative to hi-fi ear plugs
Interest in shipping options to Canada
Do they ship to Canada? Also, do the percussive filters work with a constant loud noise (i.e. machinery or power tools)?
Discussion on safe exposure levels
there are simple charts online that will show your your safe exposure levels for 3-4h.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Hearing damage is cumulative
Hearing damage never heals.
Hearing protection is important to avoid tinnitus
hearing protection is super important because whilst hearing loss is obviously to be avoided, it is nothing compared to the endless incurable torment of tinnitus.
Discussion about various earplug brands
If disposables have the best noise attenuation out of the bunch then that's what I'm going for.
100%. I'm partial to Moldex Goin' Green, 33 NRR (uncorded).
