Not for you? Check out our other rated Climbing Gloves

These are great, only exception is for us fat handed folks they make thin cracks even harder.

Positive Feedback

Thicker gloves make thin hand cracks harder and give you less feel and feedback, which I've heard can slow down learning of good jamming technique.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on equipment quality in skiing versus climbing gloves
I always rent my skis and look for the cheapest stores & prices.
I could ski a black diamond on the box your skis come in.
The textures are not as smooth and oh so slightly less flexible.
Discussion on BD Distance pack capacity and usability
Could I get that lot in the 8 without overloading it and getting stuff prodding in the back?
It's like my Salomon Trail running vest, which is super super light, but very fragile (small plastic clips, very thin cord, very thin material, etc.).
I actually attached axes to it in the store to see how it holds up.
I wouldn’t want to run in it - it would bounce along.
Discussion on dexterity and glove thickness for climbing activities
Best mountaineering gloves for cold weather: Black Diamond Helio vs Black Diamond Guide Climbing Mt Hood in early March.
Sorry to not answer your question but those thick gloves are not very dexterous.
I prefer lighter, more dextrous gloves for activities with backup warm gloves for idle time or extreme conditions.
I bring a second pair of gloves in case the first ones get too sweaty.
Discussion on glove quality and performance in various conditions
I'm looking for something that wouldn't impede dexterity too much and would be water resistant as much as possible.
Showa Atlas Temres 282. They are completely waterproof until you wear a hole in them.
Never buy high end climbing industry gloves, except your hard trad mixed cold weather gloves (there's nothing else that works -10C and colder), and save-your-hands belay mitts.
Yeah and if you are out there a set of hand warmers or two for when you feel that you might lose a finger.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on convenience versus tape for climbing.
What is the best crack climbing glove on the market? There seems to be quite a few crack climbing gloves on the market.
Ignore people talking about tape. Unless you are climbing near your limit gloves are fine and far more convenient.
Discussion on weightlifting gloves and their benefits
Weightlifting gloves? I've been focusing a lot on lifting heavier weights (I did yesterday's deadlifts with 25lbs!), and between that and the row machine, my hands are in a constant state of blistering, calluses and just generally feeling really raw.
Callouses and blisters are something to live with when you do stuff like this, and gloves can help.

Discussion on glove options for climbing
Can anyone tell me what types and how many of each pair of gloves I’ll need to have for a mixed ice climbing trip that will involve ice climbing, rock climbing, belaying and a bunch of waiting around?
Showa 282-02 gloves, size up from your usual for these. Good for wet conditions.
1k glove collection?? Dude I wanna see that
Awesome! This is really helpful. Better to start cheaper at first!
Discussion on glove preferences and options
it was actually very comfy.
their dexterity is the best feature.
Super comfee, all the dexterity, be sure to carry something warmer for when temps fall.
Discussion on glove options and preferences for climbing
I can’t seem to get purchase whenever I place what feels like it should be a good fist jam because my skin is soft and I bruise easily.
If it hurts don't do it or find a way to mitigate the discomfort.
Discussion on experiences with other brands of crack climbing gloves.
Tape is best, but a lot of hassle for single pitch.
They don’t have any extra padding, but more often than not I’m glad for that.
I have had a better experience with [the G7 ones.
Discussion on alternatives to BD gloves for ice climbing
Best BD Punisher alternative (best ice climbing gloves?) I have been using BD Punishers for many years now and I love their warmth/dexterity ratio.
https://www.go2marine.com/showa-282-temres-gloves
I haven't found a better lead glove for cold weather ice climbing.
Outdoor research bitter blaze glove? I haven't used them, but just purchased a pair based on reviews specifically mentioning suitability for ice climbing.
Advice on bringing multiple pairs of gloves for varying conditions
The BD guide gloves are pretty beefy, with significantly reduced dexterity.
Debate on the best gloves for climbing and ice climbing
This is really cool advice, thanks!
MN girl out here doin it in -6°F and the glove situation is like I’m a glove dealer operating out of my car lol “psst you need some gloves? I got just the one”
Interesting idea! I use lighter weight Showa gloves all the time for work, and they are very well ma
Discussion on preferences for fingerless versus regular gloves
the friction of this rope is getting crazy hot
Comparisons of non-climbing gloves for belaying
Cheep leather gardening gloves work great, don't waste money on climbing specific gloves.
