What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Versatile dough function for various baked goods
I love making sweet buns for brunch. Or white buns for hamburgers or even hot dogs.
First loaf! First load I’ve made
This bread slicing machine.
Versatile settings for various baked goods
I know I definitely want to make sandwich bread. But I want to expand and make others as well.
I prefer a new model due to allergies anyway.
I have the Elite Gourmet and it’s been flawless so far. Have had it since Christmas and make about two loaves a week.

Convenient for busy schedules
It’s not that a bread machine will make *better* bread than you could make on your own; in my experience the bread is slightly less good than handmade bread.
It saves you lots of hands on time, as it mixes, kneads, and rises your bread with zero intervention required.
It not only helps with kneading, it also has a temp controlled rise time.
I use my bread machine all the time - but not for baking bread. Only for the kneading and rise.
Does all the work for bread making
They basically do everything including kneading and baking.
Effective at kneading dough
I much prefer to shape it & bake in a regular pan.
it makes better dough than my kitchenaid.
an inexpensive bread machine is better at kneading dough than the average KitchenAid stand mixer.
Allows for fresh bread with minimal effort
Plus, people would smell it baking and would trade things for bread.
Makes great bread
Makes great bread. It is a West Bend brand Homestyle model bread machine.
Adds deliciousness to meals
It has certainly made life more delicious.
Great aroma while baking
breads like [naan](https://rasamalaysia.com/naan/) or any [generic, non-leavened bread](https://amiraspantry.com/yeast-less-flat-bread/).
Effective yeast blooming technique improves results
I have always mixed the yeast and sugar/water first in the basin and wait for the yeast to bloom before adding the drys and turning it on.
Now I let the water and yeast mix together for 10 minutes and it works wonderfully every time
I found my brioche bread came out better when I bloomed the yeast first and then added the dry ingredients in bread machine.
Convenient and hands-off baking process
Most of them have a delayed start timer. My in laws will set their bread machine so that there is fresh bread ready for them when they wake up in the morning.
Super simple to throw everything in and flip the switch. I don’t make real fancy stuff but it sure is good.
Able to make dough easily
It's definitely been worth keeping for me because we can use it to make pretzel and pizza dough and the occasional loaf of bread.
Enjoys fresh bread aroma in the morning
The bread machine has been surprisingly life-changing.
Effective for kneading dough and rising
I got mine for $8 and use it all the tine for kneading and rising.
I’ve probably made hundreds of loaves with it (just kneading and rising).
The best thing about it is the temperature controlled rising.
Easy to make bread with minimal effort
My mom said she'd buy it if she were me because it helps with kneading, but I do have a KitchenAid, so that takes a lot of the work out of it.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Brand quality is cheaper
Brand quality is cheaper!
I’m seeking a machine that can hold up with heavy bread doughs but is also versatile for other baking tasks, both big and small.
Not worth it if not used frequently
I don’t think a bread maker is worth it unless you’re planning on doing it a lot.
Delay functionality is essential for certain recipes
It only matters when using the delay functionality, don't want the yeast getting active well before you even start mixing.
Not ideal for achieving a good crust
No bread machine will ever give you a good crust, which as we all know, is paramount.
Old models may not perform well
I only make flatbread (Persian Noon Barbari) so I wouldn't use it for cooking the bread, anyway.
Difficulty slicing bread thin enough for sandwiches
I've never managed to slice the bread thin enough to make sandwiches out of it when I use my bread machine.
