Snoop's Take

The Empire Paintball Basics 48ci 4500psi Air Tank is designed for paintball enthusiasts seeking a reliable source of high-pressure air for their markers. With a capacity of 48 cubic inches and a maximum pressure of 4500 psi, it promises extended playtime and consistent performance during matches. Consumer sentiment around this air tank reflects a strong appreciation for its shot count and reliable regulator performance. Many users noted, "it does give me a decent number more shots out of my sniper than what I'd get with an aluminum 13ci," highlighting its efficacy compared to smaller tanks. Additionally, feedback indicates that the tank works well with specific markers such as the Empire Axe Pro, with users stating, "this tank works great." Overall, while there are concerns about its price and some compatibility issues with pump guns, the Empire Paintball Basics Air Tank is recommended for players who seek a lightweight and efficient air tank for semi-automatic setups, as it provides good performance for the price.

It does give me a decent number more shots out of my sniper than what I'd get with an aluminum 13ci.

Positive Feedback

It’s a nice size tank. But completely unnecessary for a pump gun.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Gives more shots compared to smaller tanks
It does give me a decent number more shots out of my sniper than what I'd get with an aluminum 13ci.
I care mostly about fit over how many shots I get out of it.
Regulator performance is consistent
This weapon is most viable medium-long range
I took it do difficulty 10 bots and only ran out of ammo once.
Higher shot count compared to smaller tanks
A cheap 20oz tank will yield about 1200 shots on a blowback which is roughly the same as a 68/4500.
Regulator performance is sufficient for most players
If there was anything wrong with it I couldn’t ever tell.
Tank works well for 10.5 bps
Agree. I have this exact same tank to run my czr, works just fine.
Tank works great with Empire Axe Pro

Empire tank works just fine.
The empire works just fine.
Lightweight design is preferred for close play.
Because I like the look of it with the mini GS and I like the form factor in my hands and I like to play with the gun close to my face.
Empire tanks are lightweight and easy to handle.
Empire or Ninja HPA tank? I'm looking to get a new tank on Boxing Day, but I'm still unsure about what the better tank choice would be.
Ninja makes the best regs around along with them being output adjustable and they support an excellent warranty and bottle replacement program.
Empire tanks provide good performance for the price.
Empire isn't bad though. I have no complaints with mine

Unnecessary for pump guns
It’s a nice size tank. But completely unnecessary for a pump gun.
Not worth the price imo. 13ci 3000 tank should do the trick for 1/5 of the price if you're playing with 50rd hopper / 50rd pods.
I can see the utility in a semi-auto setup, but not for a pump. I've been very happy with my 3000psi 9ci tank.
Yes, the PSI matters significantly. Get nicer carbon fiber tanks but buy used.
Considered overpriced
48/3500 for $30 and if you hate it you can upgrade.
Pro V2 ball may have compatibility issues with Empire ASA
They don’t always play well with empire asa.
Tank dumps air quickly after short use.
Empire tanks. Hey guys pretty new to paintball so idk if this is a recurring issue.
Be sure to only use legit burst discs.
Potential defects in the regulator.
Was it the same burst disk? The tank has two different burst disk installed on it.
Issues with burst disk reliability.
If the 1.8k PSI disk is blowing repeatedly, it's possible that your regulator is defective and isn't regulating pressure properly, and you should get it tested and serviced.
Empire tanks are considered less reliable than Ninja tanks.
ninja is top notch!

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on tank pressure requirements
As long as the tank is consistently outputting at least twice the operating pressure of the gun and not starving the gun for air it really doesn’t matter.
Discussion on gauge accuracy
Seems to work fine although the gauge reads a bit different psi than my air compressor gauge.
Discussion on brand preferences between Empire and Ninja.
Their customer service is top notch, and their regulators are some of the most popular for a reason.

Discussion on alternative tanks and pricing
Just get the first strike 17/4500. It’s $100 cheaper
I picked up the 17/4500 FS last year for like 35 bucks on black friday.. I didn't see the price on this but I doubt it's under 50
I've always found the ninja 50/4500 to be best for a real tight set up but a 68/4500 really isn't too bad to shoulder and keep in tight
Most of us are pretty chill. If youre worried try to pick up a cheap 3000 aluminum tank off a BST group. They usually go used for pretty cheap till you can figure out which tank is most comfortable and theeennnn drop da big bucks
Discussion on o ring maintenance for the tank
Anyone know the internal o ring size for on the threads inside the tank
I would recommend picking up a universal o ring kit on Amazon for like 30 bucks, comes with all the orings you will ever need
It's still playable just wanting to fix it for outdoor play indoor it is no issue the refill is right there but outdoor games last longer and it's farther to the refill station
Discussion on alternatives to standard tanks
A Mini with that tank will get easily over 1000 shots.
Discussion on tank size preferences
It’s lighter than a 68 for sure and I had no problem having to refill a little more often bcuz it felt better to me.
Discussion on alternative tank options
If your gun can use co2 it is far more energy dense with a single 20oz providing about 1000 shots.
Discussion on tank maintenance and filling options
You’ll get about 12 shots per ci in a 3000psi tank and about 17 shots per ci from a 4500psi tank.
Discussion on buying used tanks
Are the cheaper empire ones for 150/160$ any good? Or are most people buying used?
From what I’ve seen the higher tank prices usually come with an adjustable regulator.
Discussion on alternative tank sizes
Will that tank work or do I need something bigger
That's a really poor combination, analogous to a heavy, low powered car....that's a lose-lose proposition.
That will definitely work but you might want to get a carbon fiber tank if yours isn’t just for weight.
68/4500 is the way to go. More capacity and better in terms of weight.
Discussion on compatibility of various air tanks
Really anything. I've got a ninja tank with a pro v2 reg with all the shims out so it can be at its lowest pressure.
Any compressed air paintball tank.
Discussion on comparing Ninja and Empire tanks.
Obviously the ninja is better but $165 is a lot for a tank for me, and I noticed the Empire tank is very similar at only $134.
Discussion on tank maintenance and filling techniques.
When you get to the field fill to 1,000 psi. Wait 5 minutes then fill the rest of the way.
Discussion on tank size confusion between 48ci and other sizes
How to decipher hydro date and cubic inches on this tank? It's an empire 4500.
It appears to be a 48ci tank.
You posted and image of an Empire 48ci, which is a totally different dimension from the common 45ci bottle and much closer to the usual 50ci.
Because it *is* an Empire tank.
Inquiry about compatibility of regulators with Empire tanks
Can I put a Ninja regulator on an Empire tank? Title says all.
If the tank and reg have the same rating 4500/4500 then yes.
While I can see where it would make sense, I feel the need to do a little research.
