What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy installation with provided model
This light went out tonight and I’m just struggling to find what this is called so I can get it replaced.
Have these in mine. I retro fitted them to my grill.
The prices of some of these lights is mind blowing.
I want to get some aftermarket lights on my Crosstrek.
Excellent brightness and visibility
It actually puts out quite a bit of light even behind the fascia.
Fantastic value for the price
they are fantastic for the money.
They are very bright but I e only had them for a few months.
Lenses maintain clarity over time
the lenses are still crystal clear.
lenses just as clear as day one, except for bug guts lol
Amber lights provide better contrast in inclement weather
I've run amber on my Jeep for years and there have been some situations where I will turn my headlights off and drive with just the ambers because they are *that* good.
I love using them for winter driving.
It helps the road lines show better.
Good visibility for night driving
They work just fine. All for under $100 with mounts.
Affordable compared to high-end brands
Yea they don't cast perfectly like likes 10-20x their price but they are also dumb cheap.
Works well for basic lighting needs
It’s hard to go wrong with cheapies like that. They’ll work great but may not last 5+ years.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Request for beam shots at night
What? No beam shots at night? Cmon!
Discussion about lens durability in fleet trucks
even the aftermarket led work lights glaze over after ~2 years.
Comparisons to expensive brands like Rigid
I can not for the life of me see why someone would pay $400-$2,000 for a light.
General discussion on lighting options for vehicles
Nice and cheap and bright for walking around/looking for camp sites or reading signs.
You'd be hard pressed to find LEDs that light up the road (without wacky, scattery, vision impairing lighting artifacts) as well for less than 4x the price.
Inquiry about specific light products
Can you tell me if [these](http://m.imgur.com/h50DdWG) lights are garbage or not?

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about connecting light bars to high beams
Having a light bar without a connection the car’s high beams is illegal.
It shouldn't be too hard to do. I would personally run a wire from the high beams, that activates a relay to send power to the light bar.
Yes, this is pretty common too. How exactly to do it, and if it is possible for you, will depends on your car and lights.
yes, it's the same way you'd wire it to a switch but instead of the switch energizing your relay, it's your high beams.
Community engagement and support
this community is one of the best and most helpful. You ask a question, and within minutes people with their own companies and websites are giving you detailed answers.
Best community I've found. No one has ever made me feel dumb for asking 'dumb' questions.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion on upgrading to LED headlights
If you don’t already have LED headlights, then get that upgrade.
Just trying to save a little bit of fuel & wear/tear on my car.
Comparisons with other brands and products
You want lights with an IP68 rating. That’s the waterproof rating.
Auxbeam stuff is awful, their lumen 'ratings' are often 5-10x reality, and they use really crummy LEDs with horrible color rendering making it even harder to see at night.
Auxbeam is junk just purchased 2 different sets of auxbeam pods from two different places both have to be sent back one pod from each one are junk.
You get what you pay for. Baja designs is where it's at. Not cheap by any means but by far some of the best in the business.
Interest in using lights for specific vehicles
how are these lights holding up? I'm thinking of sticking two of these in the grill of my Miata to light up the backroads at night
Mention of similar lights available for less money
Here’s the ones they basically copied. $370 bucks.
Desire for better reviews on LED pods
If we could have actual comparable beam shots instead of looking on some diesel forum about how these guys only buy Rigid brand because they're "The best" , it would be a massive step forward in informed purchasing.
Discussion on light placement for off-road driving
I've seen at least 10 threads asking about lightbars in the past few years on /r/4x4 and thought I'd share my knowledge in this big ass thread.
What are your thoughts on light placement for driving on hilly rocky forest trails in Alabama on a stock 2004 Tacoma? I find that it is really hard to navigate when driving at night.
Lower down and up front mounts will get you better illumination directly in front of your vehicle.
Personally I'd go low. Like around your headlight height. If that doesn't work you can always change it.
Discussion on lighting needs for vehicles
How many more lights do I need?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about noise with LED light bars
LED light bars (windshield mount) make a ton of noise... not something that I would do again.
I wouldn't add a light bar over the windshield because of noise.
Inquiry about visibility obstruction
Does it block your view at all?
Discussion about effectiveness of amber vs white fog lights
Amber vs white fog lights I’ve read several google results on this but I wanted to hear some real experience/reviews if you’ve tried either color.
Critically important, both for performance in real fog and not being a rude driver.
Concerns about LED lights blinding drivers
I've honestly stopped using my car at night
Try the yellow tinted glasses , wasn't perfect but helped.
The best solution I've got is try the yellow tinted driving glasses ( Shell garages have some good ones at the moment at around £10).
