Snoop's Take

The Nilight Motorcycle Driving Lights are compact LED pods designed to enhance visibility for various vehicles, including motorcycles, dirt bikes, and trucks. Users frequently praise the lights for their excellent brightness and clarity, with one stating, "They are insanely bright, far brighter than the 20” dual row Amazon special light bar I put in the bumper." Many customers appreciate the dual functionality of white and amber beams, particularly for night driving and inclement weather, noting that amber lights provide better contrast in fog and rain. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding performance and affordability, these lights are highly recommended for anyone seeking reliable auxiliary lighting.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Provides extra lighting for high-speed backroads
Very nice to have some extra lighting down the road on high speed backroads.
Are the $1k high end light bars 10x better than the $100 Amazon specials?
Ideas for a hidden light-bar for those winter night drives into the cabin?
It will mount to the actual bumper underneath. Can't hardly tell it's there and actually puts out quite a bit of light even behind the fascia.
Excellent brightness and clarity
I have 12 of them on my roof rack, they are fantastic for the money.
I have them as ditch lights and really like them.
Had mine as fog lights for a couple years now, lenses just as clear as day one, except for bug guts lol.
They are insanely bright, far brighter than the 20” dual row Amazon special light bar I put in the bumper.
Lenses hold up well over time
the lenses are still crystal clear.
Provides good visibility for night driving
Get the once with wiring and inline fuse, makes installation easier.
I ordered a 52" light bar off Amazon. Works great.
Amber lights provide better visibility in inclement weather
Amber vs white fog lights I’ve read several google results on this but I wanted to hear some real experience/reviews if you’ve tried either color.
Proven fact that amber provides better contrast in inclement weather (*fog, rain, snow, smoke, dust, etc*).
I would agree that amber is better. In the offroad situation the amber lights show ruts and lumps on the surface of the snow and they also don't blind you with reflected light.
I'd say run ambers, but it partially depends on where you drive at night mostly.
Affordable option for lighting
Yea they don't cast perfectly like likes 10-20x their price but they are also dumb cheap.
They’ll work great but may not last 5+ years.
Provides adequate visibility for night driving
they work just fine. All for under $100 with mounts. My friends with rigid and baja designs are brighter but they also spent $2k+.
Provides extra lighting for visibility in dark conditions
I could use more light on the forest and desert roads in New Mexico, and also more visibility when we are evaluating potential camp sites in the dark.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Mediocre existing gaskets
the existing gaskets were pretty mediocre.
Perceived as overpriced compared to alternatives
Im sorry, but I feel like the whole road shock line is super overpriced for what it is vs. amazon lights.
Too bright for fog lights and may cause visibility issues
You don't want bright and fog lights in the same sentence.
Water intrusion leading to failure
Beyond that they did what they needed to.
Cheap light bars often lack good light dispersion
While they can put out impressive lumin numbers they often don't have very good light dispersion.
My Baja design ditch lights and light bar have been put through the wringer for 7 years and they are still going strong with 0 condensation or other issues.

how are these lights holding up? I'm thinking of sticking two of these in the grill of my Miata to light up the backroads at night

Better to mount lights high up or down low?
Lower down and up front mounts will get you better illumination directly in front of your vehicle.
preferably without cutting any of the grill.
Engagement on mounting locations for optimal light performance
Personally I'd go low. Like around your headlight height.

LED fog light replacement? I have a 2001 and trying to find a bright LED setup that would fit in the factory fog light holes in the bumper.
This is the correct answer.
hey did you find anything good?
Discussion on legal requirements for light installations in Australia
Having a light bar without a connection the car’s high beams is illegal.
I would personally run a wire from the high beams, that activates a relay to send power to the light bar.
How exactly to do it, and if it is possible for you, will depends on your car and lights.
it's the same way you'd wire it to a switch but instead of the switch energizing your relay, it's your high beams.
Community engagement and support for light recommendations
I really wish the offroad lighting community was 1/10 as awesome as you guys.
I agree, this community is one of the best and most helpful.
Best community I've found. No one has ever made me feel dumb for asking 'dumb' questions.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Struggling to identify and replace the light
This light went out tonight and I’m just struggling to find what this is called so I can get it replaced.
Have these in mine. I retro fitted them to my grill.
I want to get some aftermarket lights on my Crosstrek. I’m stuck on KC’s, mainly cause I’m a sucker for big, round, rally style lights, but they are super expensive.
What? No beam shots at night? Cmon!
Discussion on the effectiveness of amber vs white fog lights
Critically important, both for performance in real fog and not being a rude driver.
General chatter about experiences with different light brands
A good set of headlights, fogs, and aux-diving lights is all you need.
