Snoop's Take

The Nilight Led Pods are a pair of 18W spot LED lights designed for off-road use, providing super bright illumination for vehicles such as trucks, SUVs, and ATVs. With a high lumen output of 1260LM and an adjustable mounting bracket, these lights are built to enhance visibility during nighttime drives or in low-light conditions. Feedback from users highlights the lights' exceptional brightness, with one reviewer stating, "The output and distance was insane. Loved em," while others appreciate their fantastic value for money, noting, "they are fantastic for the money." Overall, the product is recommended for those seeking bright and affordable off-road lighting solutions, despite some concerns about long-term durability and coating quality.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Super bright lighting
Best bang for buck lights
Used the Roadshock Edge wire harness. Now to wait for dark to get comparison picks.
Very nice to have some extra lighting down the road on high speed backroads.
Are the $1k high end light bars 10x better than the $100 Amazon specials?
Fantastic value for money
they are fantastic for the money.
They are very bright but I e only had them for a few months.
Bright lighting performance
lenses just as clear as day one, except for bug guts lol
any leads?
Lighting up the midnight sky.
Durable lenses over time
the lenses are still crystal clear.
Good value for money
Yea they don't cast perfectly like likes 10-20x their price but they are also dumb cheap.
They work just fine. All for under $100 with mounts.
Amber light provides better contrast in inclement weather
I've run amber on my Jeep for years and there have been some situations where I will turn my headlights off and drive with just the ambers because they are *that* good.
I love using them for winter driving.
the amber light provides a better contrast and looks less hazy compared to white light also it helps the road lines show better.
Adjustable mounting bracket for direction change
Sounds like some bumper mount spots and maybe a set of bumper mounted fogs would be right for you.
Magnetic mounts offer temporary positioning
I've heard those magnetic mounts are great for temporarily attaching your light so you can try out the position and make sure it's ok.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Poor coating quality leading to corrosion
Long time user of the Amazon specials. Amazon ones have poor coating quality.
Mediocre gaskets
Made it very easy to add a bead of epoxy all around the seams.
Perceived high price compared to alternatives
I feel like the whole road shock line is super overpriced for what it is vs. amazon lights.
Water intrusion leading to failure
they did what they needed to.
May not last long-term
It’s hard to go wrong with cheapies like that. They’ll work great but may not last 5+ years.
Concerns about light durability
+1 on avoiding cheap light bars. People love to talk down on higher end brands due to cost but I’d rather buy once cry once.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
User discusses experience with light bar usage and potential removal.
Cheap stuff off amazon is basically all garbage, there might be a few good ones in there but I haven't found any yet.
Discussion on LED lighting technology and performance
a lot goes into LED lighting in general to get the best performance.
Discussion on light brightness in fog
You don't want bright and fog lights in the same sentence.
This is the correct answer.
Discussion on the effectiveness of amber vs white fog lights
Amber vs white fog lights I’ve read several google results on this but I wanted to hear some real experience/reviews if you’ve tried either color.
Critically important, both for performance in real fog and not being a rude driver.
Discussion on performance of light bars
their performance trounced most of the market.
User seeks advice on light quality
Can you tell me if [these](http://m.imgur.com/h50DdWG) lights are garbage or not?
User shares satisfaction with light output for the price
I am pretty sure Auxbeam has a few options in their 360 pro lineup, so you can choose bars, pods, or round ones like I got depending on where you want to mount them.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
User recommends upgrading to LED headlights.
If you don’t already have LED headlights, then get that upgrade.
You get what you pay for. Baja designs is where it's at.
User discusses experience with light bar usage and potential removal
they are insanely bright, far brighter than the 20” dual row Amazon special light bar I put in the bumper.
Discussion on light placement for off-road driving
I've seen at least 10 threads asking about lightbars in the past few years on /r/4x4 and thought I'd share my knowledge in this big ass thread.
What are your thoughts on light placement for driving on hilly rocky forest trails in Alabama on a stock 2004 Tacoma? I find that it is really hard to navigate when driving at night.
Lower down and up front mounts will get you better illumination directly in front of your vehicle.
Personally I'd go low. Like around your headlight height. If that doesn't work you can always change it.
Discussion about different types of lights for work and camping
Yea I was considering a flood or a lightbar on the rear of the rack Since my cargo light is blocked.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
User seeks help identifying a replacement for the light.
This light went out tonight and I’m just struggling to find what this is called so I can get it replaced.
Have these in mine. I retro fitted them to my grill.
User is considering installation in a different vehicle
how are these lights holding up? I'm thinking of sticking two of these in the grill of my Miata to light up the backroads at night
User seeks help identifying a replacement for the light
What bulbs are in your fog lights and daytime running lights? And what lightbar and fog lights are in the middle?
Community is helpful for recommendations
If 1lumen, Zeroair, tacgriz, or any of you other flashlight reviewers started doing basic reviews on led pods / light bars it would be amazing.
Plus everyone loves showing off and talking about their lights, so theres no shortage of discussions and beamshots to view lol.
Anytime I have a question or need a recommendation I get it within 20 mins max.
Comparison of lighting brands and alternatives
you'd be hard pressed to find LEDs that light up the road (without wacky, scattery, vision impairing lighting artifacts) as well for less than 4x the price.
At $40 if I get another 5 years out of each one, it will be 50 years before the $400 light bar would be worth it.
User shares personal experiences with other brands
Both work well for what they are needed for.
User shares installation considerations
How many more lights do I need?
Interest in mounting options and configurations
The Hi/Lo switch is sick. If I have traffic far enough ahead, I can flip on the Lo to get some extra visibility with out being crazy blinding.
User seeking recommendations for affordable light options.
Worth noting: this is on a total POS lifted Prius, so no real need to be the most expensive or high quality stuff.
I run the pods from Harbor Freight. I’m sure they are crap compared to big brand names but they work great for me and my needs.
I run LEDs on my jeep and have zero complaints.
They are still working fantastic.
Discussion on price competitiveness of Auxbeam compared to brand names
Auxbeam's seem to be very price competitive compared to the other brand names.
I've seen rigid lights and other similar pods/ bars oxidize rather quickly.
Caliraised LED has come up a good bit in my searches as well when looking for lights that don’t cost as much as my house.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
User expresses concern over noise from windshield-mounted lights.
Best bang for your buck in off road lighting? The prices of some of these lights is mind blowing.
LED light bars (windshield mount) make a ton of noise... not something that I would do again.
I wouldn't add a light bar over the windshield because of noise.
You want lights with an IP68 rating. That’s the waterproof rating.
User experiences with longevity of lenses
even the aftermarket led work lights glaze over after ~2 years.
