What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy loading and unloading of skis
Ski racks are about convenience of easy loading/unloading, security to lock gear, and protect your cars finish.
Provides security for skis
I don’t like how high it sits, so I might try and design my own rack for next year but for now this will work.
Only issue is that you need to pull the skis off to open the trunk, but honestly not even a big deal.
it looks like this comes with them.
It turned out to be a crowd favorite move I should have done anyways.
Easy installation and setup
Honestly I need a better solution for the foam considering it will get pretty beat up fairly quickly over time.
You can't tell but everything is velcroed down really good it goes right in it's bag no problem.
Durable and sturdy construction
Similar sturdiness to the Thule it replaced. Aluminum is maybe a little thicker even.
Helps with transporting multiple skis
I fit mine and my partners snowboards in my gen 1 pretty easily.

May not fit all vehicle types without an adapter
They don’t fit inside with the rear seats down? Curious if a snowboard would fit
I've used them one time. Seems ok. Wouldn't be surprised if they're all the same factory in China.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about ski days and experiences
Solid season
Pretty OK year for having two small kids to wrangle.
What ages?? This is amazing.
And we're lucky to have grandparents nearby to help with our three year-old on the days that mom wants to come skiing too.
Discussion about personal experiences with rack systems
Certainly, not the answer for everyone, but works for me.
Would just like an outside option for snowboards and a couple accessories.
They have a cap now too, but it's new and haven't seen any reviews yet.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about rain and ski transport
So I guess it doesn’t matter? Am I missing anything? Does anyone worry about leaving skis on the car when it’s raining?
Worse is what's on the road: grime, salt, brine etc... . It coats every part of your skis.
When we use it everything that was up there gets thoroughly wiped down with baby wipes when we get home.
Don't worry about it, just make sure to dry them off when you get to your destination.

Discussion about personal experiences with ski transport
The real protip is just to not stop skiing.
Glad to see this one was appreciated.
I heard that the snowstang lets you store shoes on the bus when you get off, but would anyone be there to let me drop off my skis in the middle of the day?
The bus driver might be out snowshoeing or hanging around town in the middle of the day.
Discussion about ski transport methods
They do kind of. If I fold the rear seats down and push the passenger seat forward they fit at an angle but then I can’t bring anyone with me.
Discussion about ski rack comparisons
Rhino Ski rack @ Costco Does anyone have these? I was wondering if they are still good quality and decently quiet compared to Thule or Yakima.
They make pretty good off-road stuff. I had one of their ski carriers before. On par with Yak and Thule IMO, though probably not as many accessories and attachments.
Had a rocket box of theirs in the past. Best one I've ever owned. IMO way better than Yak and Thule (stronger even when open).
Discussion about choosing between cargo boxes and ski racks
I'm hoping to avoid that this year as much as I can.
They are well worth the extra money over open ski racks.
I love the box over just plain rack because I can just keep half my quiver up there safe and always have my gear on hand.
Cargo box if you have the garage door clearance or space.
Discussion about ski waxing services
Snowboard waxing Does anyone know where you can go in town to get a snowboard or skis waxed?
BOM, LB Snow, Or MT Ski Tech.
Board of Missoula or Gull Ski & Snowboard. Great local shops, even better people.
LB Snow Trailhead Board of Missoula Gull Ski

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about ski theft prevention methods
Skis were stolen off the rack :(
I mean how do you lock it.
I use a Dakine micro lock; they are about 15 bucks.
There’s a couple different options. There’s ones built specifically for ski racks and there’s general cable locks you can use anywhere.
Ski theft prevention methods
Since it is behind the cab I don't have to worry about the most aerodynamic solution so it would be sub $100.
Most are fairly easy to break into. So do leave you’re stuff in there for very long.
Discussion about ski theft incidents
Skis disappeared from ski rack, Jay Peak This is a bit of a longshot, but:
Can’t help.
If anything ask Jay Peak to check their cameras if they can see it happen.
Someone cut my lock off my snowboard but left it on the other side of the rack.
