Snoop's Take

The BTaT Cold Brew Coffee Maker is a stylish and functional beverage dispenser designed to brew up to 1 gallon of cold brew coffee or iced tea. Constructed from premium glass, it features a leak-proof stainless steel spigot and a removable mesh filter for a smooth brewing experience. Consumer sentiment around the BTaT Cold Brew Coffee Maker is largely positive, with many users praising its stylish design and bulk brewing capability, stating, "It’s *the* cold brew system. It’s what all coffee houses use." Users appreciate the glass construction for not absorbing flavors, which enhances the overall taste of the cold brew, with one user noting that the glass is chemically inert and stays clean. However, some feedback points to issues with filtering fine sediments and the spout leaking. Overall, despite some negative feedback regarding filtering and spout performance, the BTaT Cold Brew Coffee Maker is recommended for those looking for an aesthetically pleasing and functional option for brewing cold brew in larger quantities.

I get weird off flavors of on the toddy filler i was using previously.

Positive Feedback

I think the OXO cold brewer or the toddy is a better investment.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Stylish glass design
I get weird off flavors of on the toddy filler i was using previously.
A lot of you were interested in how I make Cold Brew so I decided to document the process.
What is the best cold brew coffee maker available on Amazon? Looking for a good method of making cold brew.
This is the answer. It’s *the* cold brew system. It’s what all coffee houses use.
Convenient for making cold brew in bulk
I don’t believe in the commercial makers, because after trying a few and comparing the taste with my own method, idk I still feel mine is better.
Convenient for brewing large batches
Just get the bigger one. Cold brew concentrate keeps for a couple weeks easy in the fridge.
I got the smaller one to be able to brew my own cold brew while on deployment (US Navy); it worked like a charm and made delicious cold brew my whole underway.
I make cold brew coffee a gallon at a time and keep it in the fridge.
Produces excellent tasting cold brew
Excellent device and will last you... as long as you clean it and treat it right.
Sit in fridge for 18-24 hours. 24 seems to be the sweet spot.
Stylish and aesthetically pleasing design
Fits my aesthetic better and seems like more bang for my buck since I could technically make coffee in it as well
The glass doesn't absorb flavor or odor. When it's clean, it's like new.
Glass material does not absorb flavors
Glass is chemically inert so it won't pick up any flavors.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Ineffective filtering of fine sediments
I think the OXO cold brewer or the toddy is a better investment.
You typically have to do a couple filter passes.
Unpleasant plastic odor
It kept a very odd plastic no matter how I cleaned it.
Leaking spout
Mine leaks at the spout.
Difficulty brewing at high temperatures
Your main issue will be temperature control -- looks to me like it would be difficult to brew at boiling temps, as anything you put in here is going to cool down pretty quickly.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Different coffee-to-water ratios can affect taste.
It makes the perfect batch for me too, 12 oz of coffee, 48 ounces of water, and it makes a mixture that I dilute 1:2.
I really like mine as well. I do a 1:4.5 ratio (12 oz of grounds to 54 oz of water); it nets me almost exactly 32 oz of concentrate.
Different brewing methods and ratios can affect flavor
Highly recommend
I finally have something that resembles the taste of a coffee shop cb just for a fraction of the price.
14 hours tastes more like chocolate milk than it does at 24 hours.
Cold brew requires coarse ground coffee for optimal taste
Nope. No fine grind, the coffee will be bitter as hell.
Fine grind will turn out to be very bitter, more like coffee concentrate.
I actually preferred the taste after only 8 hours, compared to normal 12 hours or more for 'normal' cold brew.
Using different grind sizes affects cold brew flavor.
I’ve found it’s pretty fool proof.
Cold brewing tea avoids bitterness.
Seems like the better option and doesn't allow the tea to get bitter.
Tldr main thing is the type of tea you choose (green, oolong, white & barley are recommended) + ratio of tea/water (8-12g/L).
Common tea-to-water ratios for cold brewing.
I almost exclusively cold brew my tea! For most teas, I do 10g of tea in 1L water.
Generally speaking, you'd use about the same ratio of tea to water as you would for normal "western style" brewing, so 1 tsp or so for every cup of water.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Cold brew can be made in bulk at home.
Wow didn’t know a sub like this exist.
I put the grinds in a [coffee sock](https://coffeesock.com/) toss that in a food safe bucket (mason jar in your case) with water at room temp for 24 hours.
Pour the contents of the jar through your favorite filter (I use a paper filter) and voila you have your cold brew.
Various methods for filtering cold brew exist.
When you used the mason jar, how did you filter the grounds?
Adding ingredients like vanilla can enhance flavor.
I might need to try the vanilla move next time!
Possibility of making iced tea with the cold brew maker
Can I use this cold brew coffee maker to make iced tea?
probably, I mean it's not as if the Tea Police will smash your door down mid brew
I made this joke before but...:
Yes you can. I have used a French press to make cold brew tea before
Cold brew can be made using various methods.
Never used one before, so it'll be a learning experience that I'm looking forward to!
I’ve used French presses, cloth reusable tea bag style bags, even just brewed it in a mason jar then strained it through a mesh strainer or muslin.
I also recommend to not use super expensive/complex roasts in cold brew because most of the good flavors are muted or lost in this brew method.
As a barista of 4 years, I find that a french press works the best for at home cold brew.
Alternative uses for the coffee maker, such as making tea
Figured i could use it backwards by steeping tea in the beaker and pouring through strainer over mug once finnished
Youre just using a coffee pot as a tea pot.
It works in fact I use my Chemex occasionally to do this as well. Brew it and strain with my metal filter.
Various methods for making cold brew exist
y’all with french presses: you can make cold brew by putting cold filtered water in the press with scoops of coffee and leave in the fridge overnight if you want to save 35!
Never thought of using a French press but I have a special cold brew coffee maker I use
Thanks! I usually do 35g coffee/700ml in the french but it's never enough
There are many various ratios of grounds to water you can expiriment with.
Experimenting with coffee-to-water ratios
I add 5L or 6L cold water to 1lb (455g) of coffee. If you want to make a cold brew concentrate like you do in store, usually 4L to 1lb works.
I just want to make sure I'm reading this right, you put 6 liters of water to 1 lb of coffee? Starbucks uses 14 liters to 5 lbs. That seems like a lot of water for 1 lb.
I've been doing 12 cups of water to 1 lb of coffee at home and still tastes weaker than Starbucks so this is confusing.
What coffee do you use?
Cold brewing methods vary by personal preference.
I do my Taiwanese gaoshan cold brew. Some might think it’s a waste.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Different methods for making cold brew
I like working from concentrates since it lets me control the ratios more precisely.
If you want like really concentrated flavor you can double amount of leaves (or half amount of water)
I let that sit in the fridge overnight.
Sometimes you need the high temp to actually draw out flavors and fragrances you can't get from cold steeping.
Preference for using separate equipment for tea and coffee
You may want to consider a french press in this scenario.
As others are saying French press. Easy to clean out and I have an insulated one so it doesn't cool down too much while steeping.
