They're BUILT for exactly what paintball is, non-stop knee pounding lol
Comfortable for long wear during play
They actually absorb impact extremely well instead of transferring the shock to your joints.
It’s just cool to hate on HK but they make some decent products.
It’s basically a sock for your knee that you tighten with velcro.
Good protection for knees
Breaking in knee pads I have a pair of Dye kneepads and they work great and offer great protection.
Good for individuals with knee issues
My HK pads are the only ones that have lasted more than a single day.
Provides decent protection
I look like an 80s rocker sitting in a power slide behind mini walls without any hesitation.

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Straps can cause discomfort
Most of what makes up the “health” of our knees, the tendons and muscles and our padding the meniscus, have no possibility to be damaged by placing our knees on the ground.
The bottom edge is exactly what is killing me. It's like the stitched end is rolled over to be the contact point to dig into my leg.
Every knee pad I wear itches the back of my leg like fucking crazy.
Poor durability reported
HK Army soft goods have a history of having poor durability.
My hk zero g podpack looks good as new but my tank butt ripped on my second outing.
Not the best option compared to alternatives
I didn’t hate mine.
Overpriced compared to alternatives
I don’t buy the HK ones because I feel they are overpriced and any other adidas jogger in sale would do the trick
Knee pads may feel bulky under jogger fit pants
Any jogger fit I've ever tried on is way to tight with my knee pads.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about HK Army's brand evolution
HK really started as way more of a “lifestyle” brand for paintball than anything else from what I remember.
Durability of HK zero G pack
HK zero G pack has been through hell and back and still holds like its day 1.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about alternative knee pads
Although my wallet did notice.
With G3 pants I no longer have the issue.
Look at crye g3s or uf pro pants
Discussion on alternatives to knee pads
For kneepads use 187 killer pads HK for everything else
Don’t get hardshell kneepads. Corny and oversized imo

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Various alternatives mentioned
I found the cheapest foam only knee pads from harbor freight to be the most comfortable.
Try Troxell knee pads, most comfortable knee pads ever, the strap doesn't cut into your hamstrings.
they are awesome for knee pads and they hold up a lot better than the actual knee pads.
The Carhartt knee pads that slide in are a game changer.
Debate on alternatives to knee pads
Volleyball knee pads are good
Been using the Hydrafits from PBFit. More like a volleyball knee pad and offers some stability as well as nice cushioning
I’ve been trying to find a perfect form of base layer padding to wear and right now I’ve found my perfect combo: generic padded soccer goalkeeper pants.
Comparison of HK Army pads with alternatives
I think the HK Army ones look like they offer more padding.
Almost all elbow pads are very very similar..... Exalt, HK, Undr, Eclipse, etc..... Pretty much everyone except Dye.
They are still in great condition and have always worked for me
Discussion on alternative knee pads and their effectiveness
that's one of the reasons I recommend volleyball knee pads, they're meant for people who are jumping in the air and landing hard on their knees on hard-ass gym floors.
Pads, cleats, and gloves are three things that people should look elsewhere for instead of buying paintball branded ones imo.
Discussion about sizing recommendations across brands
They often suggest going up one, if not two, sizes.
once they are fully broken in will fit just the way I want them to with no sliding around.
Mention of other brands as alternatives
Based purely on product quality, they’re not great and you can do better by going with other companies.
Discussion about alternatives to existing knee pads
get too hot and don’t feel comfortable to me.
Dye ones are usually pretty highly recommended.
I'm really kinda hoping Hydra ends up releasing a full set of pads though because I love their knee pads.
Discussion on personal preferences for HK gear
The main point is to buy what you like. If you like HK designs, rock them.
Discussion on fit with jogger style pants
Jogger style pants are more tapered and I am interested in a pair, but don’t want to be too restricted in the knees since I want to continue wearing my knee pads.
IMO, you could get them on without too much of a tight fit.
They're awesome. A little roomier in the legs than other jogger fit pants but still very lightweight, not to baggy.
Discussion about knee pad recommendations for jogger fit pants
Currently use regular HK jogger pants and they're kinda tight on me.
The kneepads are built in, so they're not moving all over the place.
I’d personally recommend the HK Hardline pro pants, they’re worth the extra money and I wear large dye knee pads under them without issue.
Carbon SC Protective Bottom - 5'11'' 180lb and I'm a medium but could probably use a large.
Debate on elbow vs knee pad choices
Should I get hk army hard line elbow pads, or dye elbow pads?
Recommendations based on personal experiences
NEVER buy protective gear blind.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Debate on effectiveness of knee pads
You’re right knee pads are universally great and the best solution for everyone and they have no negatives.
Kneeling puts weight and stress on tendons and ligaments, plus pressure on the bone and blood flow
Personal experiences with HK products
I will probably never recommend any HK product other than the baclava that I truly love, this experience has been extremely painful, but at the end of the day, I can at least say that I am coming out of it with a better understanding of paintball, and the brands that make it happen
They definitely market themselves as being a good brand for beginners and I bought into that marketing, only listening to direct opinions from people I play with from now on
Brand perception and quality concerns
I don’t see the problem with them being competitive with other companies.
I have no complaints about either.
Debate on product reliability and quality
I'm glad yours has been good because in person I've watched them fail over and over.
There are a few Pros that use them still.
