Snoop's Take

The HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads (XX-Large) are designed for players seeking enhanced protection and comfort during paintball games. With features such as high-impact padding and breathable materials, these knee pads aim to provide support and durability for intense activities. Consumer feedback highlights that the knee pads offer substantial protection, with one user stating, "They're BUILT for exactly what paintball is, non-stop knee pounding lol." However, there are mixed feelings regarding their fit and durability; some players noted that they can restrict leg movement while sprinting, and concerns about quality and pricing were also raised. For instance, a user commented, "I don’t buy the HK ones because I feel they are overpriced." Based on the feedback, the HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads are recommended for players who prioritize knee protection and comfort, but potential buyers should consider the fit and durability concerns before making a purchase.

I think the HK Army ones look like they offer more padding.

Positive Feedback

they are just too long for me. As a front player they restrict my leg movement too much when sprinting off the break.

Definitely not all of them.
Good padding for protection
Looking for a pair of knee pads for sparring, I was looking around and didn't see many reviews on products.
Knee pads effectively protect knees during paintball
duly noted, I will say the dye pads feel so good in terms of protection.
I wish I found them sooner! They're BUILT for exactly what paintball is, non-stop knee pounding lol.
Effective padding for protection
Still, I refuse to forego knee pads.
Knee pads are comfortable
Should I get hk army hard line elbow pads, or dye elbow pads?
Durability is generally good
Dye for sure.

Knee pads restrict leg movement
they are just too long for me. As a front player they restrict my leg movement too much when sprinting off the break.
Poor durability reported for HK Army products
HK Army soft goods have a history of having poor durability.
My hk zero g podpack looks good as new but my tank butt ripped on my second outing.
I use the CRBN ones and I can tell you that it is the best purchase I made this year.
Poor quality and durability reported
The were the crash ones.
they’ve got that going for them.
I don't think you're correct about people switching for the ncharge.
HK Army knee pads are considered overpriced
I don’t buy the HK ones because I feel they are overpriced and any other adidas jogger in sale would do the trick

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about other knee pad brands and their effectiveness.
External knee pads that don't suck
I have found elbow pads are really unnecessary, never really needed them.
Airsoft clones of the arcteryx knee pads work great tbh.
Discussion about alternative knee pad brands and their effectiveness.
Currently looking at the hk army ctx since i have the sliding shorts and i was impressed with them.
Hydra kneepads. Best kneepads you can get.
Been using the same pair of hydra black pads for 4 seasons now.
I think for mobility and paddedness they are the best bang for buck around.
Discussion about alternative knee pad brands and their effectiveness
Volleyball knee pads are good
Been using the Hydrafits from PBFit. More like a volleyball knee pad and offers some stability as well as nice cushioning
I’ve been trying to find a perfect form of base layer padding to wear and right now I’ve found my perfect combo: generic padded soccer goalkeeper pants. They fit my form but aren’t tight like compression pants.
Knee pads? Shin guards are all I need.
Discussion about other knee pad brands and their effectiveness
Almost all elbow pads are very very similar..... Pretty much everyone except Dye.
I have been using empire pants, elbow, and knee/shin pads since 2006. They are still in great condition and have always worked for me
I didn’t hate mine. However, the hydra blacks are the best kneepads I’ve worn for any sport, ever.
This, I’ve been wearing volleyball kneepads for years!
Discussion about alternatives to paintball knee pads
that's one of the reasons I recommend volleyball knee pads, they're meant for people who are jumping in the air and landing hard on their knees on hard-ass gym floors.
This is great advice. I used a pair of Mizuno volleyball knee pads for years and can't say enough good things about them.
Pads, cleats, and gloves are three things that people should look elsewhere for instead of buying paintball branded ones imo.
Discussion about alternatives to HK Army knee pads
Although my wallet did notice.
With G3 pants I no longer have the issue.
Look at crye g3s or uf pro pants
For kneepads use 187 killer pads HK for everything else
Discussion about wearing knee pads under jogger-style pants
Jogger style pants and knee pads underneath? I’m wondering if any of you can give me some insight on whether you can wear knee pads under newer jogger style pants such as HK freeline/valken phantom/bunker kings supreme v2?
I used volley ball style knee pads which are pretty bulky under cargo pants before buying a pair of HK HSTL retro joggers.
I also wear PE knee pads and I own the BK supreme V2 pants. They're awesome.
Recommendations for alternative knee pads
Currently use regular HK jogger pants and they're kinda tight on me.
The kneepads are built in, so they're not moving all over the place.
I’d personally recommend the HK Hardline pro pants, they’re worth the extra money and I wear large dye knee pads under them without issue.
And they can cinch around the ankle.
Discussion on selecting protective gear
NEVER buy protective gear blind.
Comparisons with other brands
Dye elbow pads are good, but pricey.. I would reccoment HK pads though.
Are they ok if you play front?
Discussion about knee pad options for Iai
Good (and if possible affordable) knee pads for iai ?
Volleyball knee pads are perfect
Knees are great but my thigh muscles and tendons in both legs were screaming the next day and still are.
I used volleyball kneepads for Iai since starting last year as they were relatively inexpensive and available.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
HK Army's marketing appeals to beginners
They definitely market themselves as being a good brand for beginners and I bought into that marketing, only listening to direct opinions from people I play with from now on
Discussion about lifestyle brand identity of HK Army
HK really started as way more of a “lifestyle” brand for paintball than anything else from what I remember.
Discussion about HK Army's marketing and brand appeal
There are a few Pros that use them still.
