Snoop's Take

The HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads - Small are designed to provide essential protection and comfort for players in paintball and airsoft. Featuring dual-layered high-impact padding and a lightweight, breathable design, these knee pads aim to keep players safe while ensuring flexibility during gameplay. Consumer sentiment reveals a mix of opinions about the HK Army knee pads. Many users appreciate their comfort and durability, with one stating, "My HK pads are the only ones that have lasted more than a single day," while others criticize the quality, citing issues like straps that irritate and a lack of durability for tournament use. Despite some negative feedback, players who prioritize comfort, especially during dives and quick movements, find them favorable. In conclusion, the HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads - Small may be recommended for casual players seeking comfort and protection, but those who play competitively or prioritize durability might want to explore other options based on the mixed reviews.

Positive Feedback

there is no crazy markup either. Pads, cleats, and gloves are three things that people should look elsewhere for instead of buying paintball branded ones imo.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Comfortable protection for knees
My HK pads are the only ones that have lasted more than a single day.
So I gotta disagree with the popular notion that "HK Army knee-pads are crap".
Decent product quality despite mixed reviews
It’s just cool to hate on HK but they make some decent products.
Enhanced comfort with velcro straps
It’s basically a sock for your knee that you tighten with velcro.
Comfortable knee pads for paintball and airsoft
I’ve been using those knee pads and forearm slide pads for a few years in both paintball and airsoft and love them.
Knee pads are very comfortable
Yea, they're great. I play snake every now and then and they offer good protection when you dive.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Too long and restricts leg movement for front players
there is no crazy markup either. Pads, cleats, and gloves are three things that people should look elsewhere for instead of buying paintball branded ones imo.
Poor quality control and durability issues
HK Army Rant I’ve had an absolutely awful experience with hk in the past few months, from pods that shattered the first time they got shot, pants that ripped in the first game I played in them, knee pads that bite the back of your leg, and my HK mini gs exploded in my hand the 3rd time I used it, this company had 0 quality control, they ship you things that are already falling apart, then blame you for “improper maintenance” when you try and warranty through them.
Their elbow pads give me carpal tunnel, xl kneepads were way too small on certain parts, and the reg busted a pin valve seal and I can’t find an easy replacement.
Straps irritate the back of the leg
Still, I refuse to forego knee pads.
Poor product quality
they’re not great and you can do better by going with other companies.
I don't think you're correct about people switching for the ncharge.
Not durable enough for tournaments
The were the crash ones.
Overpriced compared to other options
I don’t buy the HK ones because I feel they are overpriced and any other adidas jogger in sale would do the trick

General discussion about the effectiveness of different types of knee pads.
The difference in impact almost doesn't matter, but knee pads are good at preventing gnarly clashes or cuts.

I use the CRBN ones and I can tell you that it is the best purchase I made this year.

Shin guards are all I need.
Mention of readily available volleyball knee pads.
You can find volleyball knee pads almost anywhere
Discussion about alternatives to hard-shell knee pads
Don’t get hardshell kneepads. Corny and oversized imo
Discussion on wearing knee pads under jogger style pants
Jogger style pants and knee pads underneath? I’m wondering if any of you can give me some insight on whether you can wear knee pads under newer jogger style pants such as HK freeline/valken phantom/bunker kings supreme v2?
IMO, you could get them on without too much of a tight fit. I'm a completely different body shape though so I dunno.
They're awesome. A little roomier in the legs than other jogger fit pants but still very lightweight, not to baggy.
Users discussing alternatives to knee pads, like volleyball knee pads.
Good (and if possible affordable) knee pads for iai ?
Volleyball knee pads are perfect
my knees are great but my thigh muscles and tendons in both legs were screaming the next day and still are.
I used volleyball kneepads for Iai since starting last year as they were relatively inexpensive and available.

Users are discussing various brands of knee pads, notably Hydra.
Currently looking at the hk army ctx since i have the sliding shorts and i was impressed with them.
Hydra kneepads. Best kneepads you can get.
My knees are pretty fucked up from the jobs I have done. I put these ones on and it’s like I’m kneeling on a cloud! I love them and second this!.
Been using the same pair of hydra black pads for 4 seasons now.
Discussion on various brands of knee pads.
Volleyball knee pads are good
Been using the Hydrafits from PBFit. More like a volleyball knee pad and offers some stability as well as nice cushioning
I’ve been trying to find a perfect form of base layer padding to wear and right now I’ve found my perfect combo: generic padded soccer goalkeeper pants.
Discussion on various brands of knee pads
I think the HK Army ones look like they offer more padding.
Almost all elbow pads are very very similar..... Exalt, HK, Undr, Eclipse, etc..... Pretty much everyone except Dye.
They are still in great condition and have always worked for me
Users recommend volleyball knee pads over paintball-specific ones
they're meant for people who are jumping in the air and landing hard on their knees on hard-ass gym floors
They actually absorb impact extremely well instead of transferring the shock to your joints.
Discussion on alternatives to knee pads
This, I’ve been wearing volleyball kneepads for years!
I wear some UF Pro striker pants with the build in pads, mostly I dont notice them.
Try G3-style pants with them built in.
Look at crye g3s or uf pro pants
Comparisons with other brands like Hydra
I didn’t hate mine.
I look like an 80s rocker sitting in a power slide behind mini walls without any hesitation.
Comments on professional players' experiences
There are a few Pros that use them still.
Users interested in cleaning options for arm pads
Arms pads washable? My hk army arm pads have gotten really dirty but how am I supposed to clean them?
Discussion on jogger fit paintball pants and knee pads compatibility.
Currently use regular HK jogger pants and they're kinda tight on me.
I love my Empire Neoskin slide shorts. The kneepads are built in, so they're not moving all over the place.
I’d personally recommend the HK Hardline pro pants, they’re worth the extra money and I wear large dye knee pads under them without issue.
Hk army crash pads and I wear a medium.
Advice on sizing between brands
Should I get hk army hard line elbow pads, or dye elbow pads?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
External knee pads are a topic of interest among users.
External knee pads that don't suck
I have found elbow pads are really unnecessary, never really needed them.
Worked constructing in the past so my expectations are realistic as far as them staying in place.
The bumps really kill your funny bone.
Discussion on HK Army's brand identity and marketing
they are coasting on their early day vibes and selling mostly poorly made products with designs that are particularly appealing to teenagers and people who unironically use the word “agg”.
They definitely market themselves as being a good brand for beginners and I bought into that marketing, only listening to direct opinions from people I play with from now on.
Users discussing other brands of knee pads
For kneepads use 187 killer pads HK for everything else
Got a specific 187 you would recommend?
