Snoop's Take

The HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads are designed to provide optimal protection and comfort for paintball enthusiasts during intense gameplay. Featuring a lightweight, breathable design with high-impact padding and a neoprene support structure, these knee pads are tailored for durability and performance. Consumer feedback highlights the knee pads' comfort and impact protection, with users stating, "they are extremely comfy" and "they're BUILT for exactly what paintball is, non-stop knee pounding lol." However, some concerns have been raised regarding durability, with a few users mentioning issues like "knee pads that bite the back of your leg" and others feeling they are "overpriced compared to alternatives." Overall, while the knee pads receive praise for comfort and protection, potential buyers should consider the mixed reviews regarding durability and fit. In conclusion, the HK Army Paintball CTX Knee Pads are recommended for those prioritizing comfort and impact protection during paintball. However, prospective users should weigh the feedback regarding durability and sizing before making a purchase.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.

They look amazing.
Enhanced comfort while kneeling
Absolutely worth it. These little details set minis apart.
Provides good impact protection
duly noted, I will say the dye pads feel so good in terms of protection.
I wish I found them sooner! They're BUILT for exactly what paintball is, non-stop knee pounding lol
Comfortable knee pads
they are extremely comfy.
they offer good protection when you dive.
Durable for the most part
Dye for sure.
Looks cool
They look cool too, imo.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Poor durability compared to competitors
My hk zero g podpack looks good as new but my tank butt ripped on my second outing.
Knee pads can bite the back of the leg
Knee pads that bite the back of your leg
Sizes may not fit well, causing discomfort
Their elbow pads give me carpal tunnel, xl kneepads were way too small on certain parts, and the reg busted a pin valve seal and I can’t find an easy replacement.
Itches the back of the leg
Still, I refuse to forego knee pads.
Quality control issues
HK gear is relatively cheap and ubiquitous, so it feels like every tryhard wannabe agglet shows up plastered in HK branding.
Poor product quality
they’re not great and you can do better by going with other companies
I don't think you're correct about people switching for the ncharge. HK army pro teams were openly trashing the loader mid tournament after launch and you saw by Sunday that not 1 was used anymore.
Overpriced compared to alternatives
I don’t buy the HK ones because I feel they are overpriced and any other adidas jogger in sale would do the trick
No padding in the pants
Very pleased with mine, heads up though, there is no padding - like at all.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Knee pads are essential for paintball to protect knees over time
Always, always, always wear knee pads.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Various alternatives to traditional knee pads mentioned
I found the cheapest foam only knee pads from harbor freight to be the most comfortable.
Try Troxell knee pads, most comfortable knee pads ever, the strap doesn't cut into your hamstrings.
I would try the throwable floatation boat cushions… they are awesome for knee pads and they hold up a lot better than the actual knee pads.
The Carhartt knee pads that slide in are a game changer.
Volleyball knee pads are a cost-effective alternative
they're meant for people who are jumping in the air and landing hard on their knees on hard-ass gym floors.
They actually absorb impact extremely well instead of transferring the shock to your joints.
Pads, cleats, and gloves are three things that people should look elsewhere for instead of buying paintball branded ones imo.
Discussion about professional players' usage
There are a few Pros that use them still.
Users consider integrated knee pads as more convenient
The kneepads are built in, so they're not moving all over the place.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison of HK Army pads with Exalt pads
I think the HK Army ones look like they offer more padding.
Almost all elbow pads are very very similar..... Exalt, HK, Undr, Eclipse, etc..... Pretty much everyone except Dye.
They are still in great condition and have always worked for me
Comparison of HK Army pads with other brands shows varied preferences
I use the CRBN ones and I can tell you that it is the best purchase I made this year.
Marketing perceived as targeting beginners
They definitely market themselves as being a good brand for beginners and I bought into that marketing, only listening to direct opinions from people I play with from now on
Comparison with other knee pad brands
I look like an 80s rocker sitting in a power slide behind mini walls without any hesitation.
However, the hydra blacks are the best kneepads I’ve worn for any sport, ever.
Discussion on alternatives to HK Army knee pads
For kneepads use 187 killer pads HK for everything else
Don’t get hardshell kneepads. Corny and oversized imo
Concerns about fit under tapered jogger pants
Jogger style pants are more tapered and I am interested in a pair, but don’t want to be too restricted in the knees since I want to continue wearing my knee pads.
IMO, you could get them on without too much of a tight fit.
They're awesome. A little roomier in the legs than other jogger fit pants but still very lightweight, not to baggy.
Discussion about jogger fit pants compatibility
Currently use regular HK jogger pants and they're kinda tight on me.
Recommendations for alternative knee pads
I’d personally recommend the HK Hardline pro pants, they’re worth the extra money and I wear large dye knee pads under them without issue.
Currently I'm wearing the BK supreme V2 pants and they fit perfect with my knee pads without being too bulky.
Comparison of elbow pads and recommendations
also if I am medium size for the dye elbow pads should i get large on the hk army pads?
Are they ok if you play front?
Try them all and get whichever you find most comfy. NEVER buy protective gear blind.
Comparison of HK Army and Planet Eclipse knee pads
Knee Pads I'm looking to purchase some knee pads and my two choices are HK Army And the 2013 Planet Eclipse ones.
They are both known as top quality brands.
I use Eclipse knee & arm pads, but either of those will work great.
I love my PE pads and out of all of the brands I have tried they are the best (have not tried the HK ones).

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Knee pads are generally seen as beneficial for joint health
The only people that will tell you not to use them are the ones that are scared to use them because they think it makes them weak.
You’re right knee pads are universally great and the best solution for everyone and they have no negatives.
Discussion on HK Army's brand reputation and quality
like all lifestyle brands, they are coasting on their early day vibes and selling mostly poorly made products with designs that are particularly appealing to teenagers and people who unironically use the word “agg”.
Discussion on brand reputation amidst mixed reviews
Hell, they basically look brand new.
I like my HK Army pads but if there is something better I'm all for it.
Branding and marketing perception of HK Army
I don’t see the problem with them being competitive with other companies.
The main point is to buy what you like. If you like HK designs, rock them.
Mixed experiences with HK Army products
Why are y’all hating on hk army
