Insightful Chatter

Wood is king. I haven't failed a single launch since I switched to wood, aside from once I bumped the side and made an impromptu calzone.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for wooden pizza peels for better stability
Wood is king. I haven't failed a single launch since I switched to wood, aside from once I bumped the side and made an impromptu calzone.
I agree wood is better.
My wood peel works just fine.
I prefer wood for beginners.
Peel design trade-offs: perforated vs non‐perforated
All I have to say : God i love to make pizzas.
Advantage is excess semolina falls through the peel.
I also prefer crumbs and flour not falling thru when transporting.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Parchment paper technique improves pizza transfer
Parchment is so easy on the transfer.
the parchment slides right out.
I usually wait about 30 seconds to a minute.
I find using tongs along with the peel to be helpful personally.
Using parchment paper for pizza transfer
I plan to use parchment paper to slide the pizza in as I don't have a peel to do so.
Check the heat rating on your parchment paper!! Some are only good for up to 400F and will burn if you put them in a hotter oven.
He had trouble transferring his pizza so used parchment paper for the first 2 minutes at 500 degrees.
I do this all the time!
Optimal pizza baking techniques
They turned out awesome and better and faster than anything I have made in the oven or on the grill.
I would get the stone to around 400 C (750 F), and then lower lower the flame when I put the pizza inside to avoid burning.
The built in thermometer was reading max temp (950-1000) and pizzas were cooking as seen in under 2 minutes.
Too hot stone will burn your pizza from below, but too big of a flame will certainly help with burning edges of your crust too.
DIY hands-free peel holder innovation
I may be wrong, but it feels like you're doing something wrong, or this is not about pizza.
I should have recorded a video when I'm actually making pizza 😂 I need two hands to drag the pizza on the peel and this holds the peel in place.
I dont understand.. Why are you peeling your pizza?

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Peel preparation to prevent sticking
Use parchment paper my man
IMO the best way to avoid too much semolina/flour/cornmeal on the bottom of your pie and to prevent sticking is to season your peel.
I don't think I've *ever* washed mine.
Before launch, try gently shaking the pizza to see if it’s loose enough.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
General pizza chatter and banter
My local pizza shop uses a peel shaped like a battleaxe
Diversify yo pizza toppings
Wu-Tang is for the pizza
Who peels pizza.
