Snoop's Take

The Moss & Stone Percolator Coffee Pot is an electric coffee maker designed to brew 2 to 10 cups of rich, flavorful coffee. Its stainless steel construction and elegant design make it an attractive addition to any kitchen while providing the convenience of an electric percolator. Consumer sentiment surrounding this coffee pot reveals mixed feelings. While some users appreciate the taste of percolated coffee, with one stating, "I really enjoy the taste of percolated coffee," there are significant concerns regarding its brewing method. Many find that electric percolators can lead to burnt or bitter coffee, with comments like, "Percolators over extract and overheat coffee producing some of the worst coffee I've ever tried." Additionally, compatibility issues with power cords have also been raised, indicating potential problems for some buyers. Overall, while the Moss & Stone Percolator Coffee Pot may appeal to those who enjoy traditional percolated coffee, the feedback suggests that it may not be the best choice for everyone. For those seeking a more modern brewing method with better quality coffee, exploring alternative coffee makers might be advisable.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Enjoyment of the taste of percolated coffee
I really enjoy the taste of percolated coffee and making it really fits into my current practical situation (time constraints, etc) as well.
Enjoyment of percolated coffee taste
I, personally, thought it was quite good.
They're fine as long as you don't find a fish inside one of them.

Electric percolators are considered a bad way to make coffee.
It's just overall a bad way to make coffee
I’m gonna be honest. The best answer really and truly is: don’t use a percolator. I’m sorry but someone had to say it.
Electric percolators produce bad coffee.
They put the water through the coffee at boiling temp (bad) and then continue to boil the brewed coffee (even worse) and brew for to long (You either get watery coffee or over extracted coffee).
Missing power cord compatibility issue
The receptacle on this percolator appears to be more square than the IEC C17 and C18 but does not quite match the IEC C9 standard either due to the top cambered edges.
Did you contact Moss & Stone to see if they would send you a replacement?
Percolators produce burnt and bitter coffee
Percolators are one of the worst methods of making coffee for a variety of reasons but notably the overheat and over extract things.
In my experience, percolators over extract and overheat coffee producing some of the worst coffee I've ever tried.
it's boiled up 100 degree celsius, what it makes it unable to circumvent the argument that high temperature changes it's chemical reaction and recirculating itself resulting the bitterness is little strange to me.
I just picked up a teeny tiny single-cup moka pot. Not exactly the same as a percolator, but arguably better coffee.
Percolators considered outdated
Yeah percolators went out of style for a reason, the cheapest Mr coffee drip machine will make much better coffee, but they do work.
Coffee quality may not be satisfying
Percolators work by boiling the liquid in the very bottom of the vessel, forcing water up the tube into the bulb and over the grounds.
Difficulty in brewing process
Just keep it on the heat until it starts to percolate. There will be plenty of noise once the water is boiling and coffee being made.
Let the water boil, then add the ground basket, lower the burner a bit. Once you get burbles every second, it should be done in six minutes.
Percolators are considered outdated technology
can I ask why a percolator? as far as I know they’re considered a pretty “outdated” tech in the coffee world due to their limitations
same reason why we don’t prepare “cowboy coffee” at home but we use more modern techniques
Percolators require more than two cups liquid to function properly
Percolator for single drinker? Recently, I bought a smaller percolator(gsi 6cup, which is 6oz 4 cup actually) as the already using pot was too big for me alone(6oz 8cup) and disappointingly, it turned out that the new one also requires more than two cups liquid to let it perk, properly.
Percolator coffee often tastes burnt
I've never had percolator coffee that didn't taste like burnt dregs.
