I think it’s going to meet my expectations. Is it going to be equal to a commercial wok in an actual restaurant? no. But I do think it will be much better than a flat bottom wok on a residential gas or electric stove.
Induction wok generates more heat than gas
the heat is all at the bottom flat part that actually touches the heating element - the sides don't really get warm at all.

I do not know if this is the right place but I wanted to opinions on two different induction wok burners.
Achieves Wok Hei on induction
I have absolutely achieved wok hei.
You need very high temp, oil and ingredients that easily 'absorb' the smoky taste like rice and rice noodles.
The particular flavour comes from slightly overheated peanut oil, not some temperature which differs by every other oil.
Induction wok plugs into standard outlets
The nuwave could plug into a standard outlet, especially with the wattage control being a thing with it.
Wok heats up quickly
The wok goes from room temperature to ~700° in less than 30 seconds.

I'm afraid the heat doesn't spread evenly and before seasoning I want to be 100% sure I'm not taking the wrong choice.
Best decision I made was to get an induction wok portable cooktop and a round-bottomed wok.
Best advice is to get an induction wok burner. That'll blow past your budget, but it's worth it.
I got the Abangdun version on Amazon and really like it. It's no 100k BTU propane burner, but it does a good job for my wife and I.
