Snoop's Take

The BRS-S3 Ultralight 14 Teeth Aluminium Alloy Bundled Crampons are designed for outdoor enthusiasts who engage in ice climbing, ski mountaineering, and glacier hiking. With a lightweight 7075-series aluminum alloy frame and a secure fit for EU sizes 36-45, these crampons aim to provide stability and confidence on icy terrains. Consumer sentiment highlights the crampons' secure and precise fit, with users noting, "they’re the most secure and precise crampons I’ve used." Many appreciate the value for money, while some have pointed out concerns regarding metal durability on rocky surfaces and fit compatibility with certain boot types. Additionally, the lack of EN/UIAA certification raises questions for some users, emphasizing the need for caution in technical situations. Overall, while the BRS-S3 crampons offer great features for the price, potential buyers should consider the fit issues and lack of certification for more demanding uses. They are recommended for casual climbers looking for a cost-effective solution, but those requiring stringent safety standards may want to explore other options.

Too overkill for 4 and 5? No way. Good score and enjoy, they’re the most secure and precise crampons I’ve used.

Positive Feedback

Great crampon. I love them, but be aware the metal is soft and wears quickly on rock.

Secure and precise fit

Loved my BRs. Super stable. I've climbed W5 to M8 in them.
Great crampon for that, as long as you fit them correctly on your boots.
Good value for money
Good purchase, or would these be too aggressive for my uses?
Good resolution from warranty service
seems like a good resolution so far.

Metal wears quickly on rock
Great crampon. I love them, but be aware the metal is soft and wears quickly on rock.
Fit issues with some boots
make sure the square offset in the linking bar clears your boot heel.
Not EN/UIAA certified
Nothing too technical.
They haven’t been tested to (and/or don’t meet) EN/UIAA standards, so you get to be the test dummy to determine the quality.
Get real, EN/UIAA certified crampons if you need more than microspikes.
So ultimately I’d go to a used gear shop (Wonderland Gear Exchange in Seattle, Back Country Essentials in Bellingham) and pick up a pair of BD, Petzl, CAMP, etc.

Discussion about crampon fitting and usage
Crampon fit check
Looks good to me. Hard to tell since you don’t have a shot from the top down on either the rear or front side posts.
'They're fine, but if you're ice climbing, your secondary points are too far back.'
To me, it looks good. Btw. Whats the model name of these boots? Thanks in advance.
Concerns about crampon design and materials
I don't like the idea of those two being wrapped together in storage.
Comparison of bolt systems in crampons
I wonder if a longer bolt would have minimized the lateral flexing of the frame part that breaks on the BRs.

Advice on trying crampons before buying
The worst thing you can do right now is buy the wrong gear in an attempt to save some money; you'll end up trying to re-sell gear you cant use.
Discussion about recommended crampons for beginners
As is typical for summer mountaineering in Norway, my use case is going to be fairly long hikes with limited sections on both blue ice and snow.
They work on moderate slopes 40-70 degrees of hard packed snow, and some ice (I haven't run into Blue Ice yet though), if you frontpoint.

Cautionary Callouts

Personal experiences with different crampons
Uber light for ski mountaineering.
Felt pretty solid didn't notice the difference between them and my grivel crampons.
