Snoop's Take

The WIN.MAX Crampons for Shoes are designed to enhance traction during winter activities like walking, jogging, climbing, and hiking. With 19 stainless steel spikes, these crampons provide reliable anti-slip support on icy and slippery surfaces, ensuring safety during outdoor adventures. Consumer sentiment around these crampons is largely positive, as many users report significant improvements in stability on icy terrain. One user noted, "We definitely noticed a difference" when using them on slick sidewalks, emphasizing their effectiveness. However, some feedback indicated potential issues with compatibility on softer or more flexible footwear, with a warning that "it is dangerous" if they slip during use. Overall, the WIN.MAX Crampons are recommended for those seeking reliable traction in winter conditions, especially for hiking and outdoor activities. Their robust design and positive user feedback make them a valuable winter accessory, provided they are used with compatible footwear.

We weren’t hiking up hills or anything, but the few times we used them on icy sidewalks or parking lots we definitely noticed a difference.

Positive Feedback

the sole will flex like crazy and crampons will slip right when you can least afford it.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Crampons provide excellent traction on icy surfaces

Heaps of people have crampons and it just seems to make it so less dicey.
Do you have any experience with them, and do you recommend using them?
Microspikes perform very poorly on steeper terrain or a thin layer of slush over hard snow.
Crampons are helpful for walking and hiking in winter conditions
I call them boot chains, lol.
Hillsound Trail Crampons (they are actually microspikes) are heavier than the Kahtoolas but have longer teeth and provide better traction.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Crampons may slip on flexible soles
the sole will flex like crazy and crampons will slip right when you can least afford it.
It is dangerous. I have the exact same shoes for general hiking.
Wife surprised me with a birthday holiday and is keeping a bit hush on itinerary but suspect we may find ourselves far south-east trekking on some of the trip.
May not be UL enough for this sub, but probably worth looking at for OP.
Using crampons on certain boots can damage waterproofing
Also, in my experience wrenching strap on crampons super tight seems to flex the sole and seams too much over time and can ruin the waterproofing.
Inappropriate for soft or flexible footwear
No shank no work. Get microspikes for hiking boots.
What you have there is essentially a running shoe that happens to go above your ankles. This is not
Crampons may not be suitable for casual walking or less serious terrain
Crampons are much larger spikes and meant for much more serious terrain.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

Advice on selecting appropriate footwear for crampons
Ask the company. From a quick look, this looks like more of a fun tour on very low angle terrain with minimal to no consequence.
Most spikes seem to use a rubber band that goes around your shoe and a net of chains of steel cables spanning the sole, stabilizing the spikes.
Compared to the weight of real crampons (and the required hard-shell mountaineering boots to use them), microspikes are very lightweight.
I'd go with Kahtoola's without even a moment's hesitation. That's what your hiking buds are asking you to get, and why have wildly disparate (safety) gear?
Recommendations for less expensive alternatives
Mine are knockoff Yaktrax that were under $20 at Costco a half dozen years ago and they get the job done!
