Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about the Freelander hatchet's quality
I love how it looks, but I am skeptical if it's any good.
The marbles camp axe is where it’s at. Hand forged carbon steel made in Ecuador, solid fit and finish all for $45.
This thread will contain unmarked spoilers regarding items unlocked as you open new areas of the Safehouse, so if you want to find everything on your own, steer clear.
Discussion about naming axes
Can you help me out? Soo, as the title says, I need names for axes.
Here are 20 possible names for axes that a kobold named CHUCK HUCKS might give to his weapons:
Each of the 20 axes is a diferent dice roll, and stephanie is the 20.
Oh, you ask why I use Bleh? Well, she was the first axe I ever threw, and nothing will have us part... although I admit nowadays she more resembles a throwing hammer than an axe.
Discussion about quality of axes
Italian axes are just as good as swedish.
Discussion on the importance of sharp axes

Sharp axes are for Instagram posts
Dude YES. I hate the amount of “it’s just an axe” people out there.

Recommendations for camping axes
Good camping axe? Any recommendations on camping axes that will hold up to regular use?
fiskars anything. really the best option for price point. just gotta sharpen em occasionally, i got a 400/1000 grit block i use on my hatchet and maul that works great
Gränsfor Bruk makes great axes! My partner uses the Scandinavian Forest Axe. Pricey but very reputable, gorgeous, and reliable. Council Tool also makes reliable axes. But if you don't have a preference, you may want to start with a cheaper axe and get a feel for what you like first.
Something from a hardware store with a hickory handle. Wood diffuses vibration from getting to your hands, and the handle can be replaced if it’s ever damaged. Estwing, Council, Husqvarna, Hultafors, Granfors, they are all good.
General recommendations for camping axes
What hatchets do you recommend under $100 Under $75 and under $50 and why?
Any hardware store hatchet will get the job done, that’s exactly why they sell them.
And I’d recommend going one up on the Fiskars from the X7 hatchet to the X11…. Way better size and performance for not much more weight and cost.
Second the X11, had one for almost ten years now, well it’s actually a Gerber Camp Axe which is a Gerber branded X11, and have used it extensively with no complaints.
Discussion about production processes
Should be fine although the design is not that great for splitting but that is another issue.
The paper label now just says "Forged".
Really doesn't matter too much.
Discussion about maintaining axe sharpness
The tool is probably best used to maintain the edge, rather than resharpening or repairing a dull axe.
Im pretty sure it does nothing for chips. So you will have them forever.
Its easy to clean the edge every once in a while. When I'm done the wood work and i maintenance my tools I do not use this.

Confusion over product identification

Really?
Discussion about various axe brands
I am wondering if they’re any good axe companies that still operating in United States to get a good axe from.
We make an insanely consistent/completely hand forged/hand hafted product for an incredibly affordable price considering the quality.
Council is a step up from Cold Steel and have a nice range of styles and finish qualities depending what you are looking for.
