That thing is an absolute wood splitting beast. Someone stole mine off the block last year and I can’t justify buying a new one since I have four others.

Positive Feedback

Same with the maul. Speaking of which, why the hell is the head not solid from front to back?

Effective wood splitting tool
That thing is an absolute wood splitting beast. Someone stole mine off the block last year and I can’t justify buying a new one since I have four others.
NEW 16” hatchet & 26” splitting axe
Versatile tool for various applications
Arguably more viable in more situations.
Should an axe-wielder fight a dude with a shield, the axe can be used effectively to hook the shield out of the way, or used to hook anything, really.
Stylish design
It is definitely worth the style, but is it balanced?
The axe is worth it , however it’s worth noting you can’t throw it.
Comparable damage to other weapons
I heard it has the same damage as lance, so basically it's a faster lance.
Effective for splitting wood
Hatchets are nice for kindling but can lack a little oomph if you’ve got a more stubborn species of wood.

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Poor handle design
Same with the maul. Speaking of which, why the hell is the head not solid from front to back?
Less effective in combat compared to swords
The balancing on the axe (most of its weight near the tip) makes it a bulky weapon compared to the much nimbler sword.
Requires buffs for combat effectiveness
Stun baton is superior against the illuminate oversees will mess you up with the axe sadly it needs to be buffed tbh

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Axe-throwing as a casual and fun activity
Anyone been to either Bury the Hatchet or Hatchet and Hops? Any recommendations on one over the other?
Bury the Hatchet is a blast.
You can BYOB, it was really fun.
a few beers and once you can choose what to throw it gets way more fun.
Surprise at the combination of alcohol and axes
I'm still in awe that giving people high ABV beers and axes has been a viable business model

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison of axe vs maul for wood splitting
Got the Splitting Axe. Should I have bought the Maul?
It all depends on the wood your burning and the size of the wood you're splitting.
Discussion on the physics of splitting wood
It may be magic.
Lower weight and better ergos mean higher speed and greater accuracy = quicker splitting/driving.
Comparison with Stun Lance
If only we could get that god of war axe functionality
Discussion about alternative brands for axes and hatchets
Basically the same as other expensive axe brands from Sweden, but they come with a bit rougher handle and head, less finish work.
I have found several on Aliexpress but they are not cheap.
Check out CRKT they make some very affordable tomahawks/hatchets.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
General appreciation for the subreddit
Hatchet, Axe & Saw
Best subreddit ever! I may or may not have shed a tear just now…
Anecdotal experiences with different wood types
That axe seems rather light for splitting firewood. Can it handle hardwood?
I’d like to try an axe for a change.
Debate on weapon effectiveness in combat scenarios
Why is an axe better than a sword? I have two characters arguing about the best close‑range weapon.
Suggestions for safer alternatives to hatchets
Safer than a hatchet and super efficient.
Discussion on survival axes in general
What is the best survival axe for a reasonable price? Edit what about those ones that come with a saw in them how good are they?
Fiskars X7 or X10. There's no competition in my opinion for an affordable axe.
If you want to see a survival axe in action, watch the movie "Happy People: a Year in the Taiga" It will blow your mind to see this trapper using a half size axe (between a hatchet and a full length axe) to make everything.

Skepticism about survival axes' effectiveness
How useful are so called " survival " axes/tomahawks/hatchets for the purpose of wilderness survival ?
Most are pretty shitty.
I don't generally use a hatchet for much. A saw is more useful to me and lightee.
