A pressure cooker can do the job of a slow cooker but it takes a fraction of the tie.
A pressure cooker works at a higher temperature. The additional pressure allows them to reach 240-250 F.

Planning on buying one. A local Extension Office had one they used to teach with and I will buy the one they recommend.
I bought a Presto digital canner a few months ago. It hasn't been tested by the USDA but it has been tested by Oregon State University.
Additionally, the processing times in recipes for pressure canning include the time to heat up and cool down.

Yes, things are easier and faster to cook. Also, cheaper.
The advantage there is that you can cook your longer-cooking meat, then have another inner pot with rice/vegetables/what have you, ready to be swapped in the second the first dish is done and the pressure released.
Yup, that's the best model out there, IMO.
It is so easy to make corn, artichokes, beans, rice, fantastic corned beef in an hour, oh and awesome mashed potatoes in under 20 minutes start to finish.
