What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Snag-free biners are beneficial for un-clipping
having a snag-free biner is awesome for when you extend it.
Clean nose on bolt side improves cleaning
Having the nose not make as an aggressive "hook" makes it so that you don't have to twist the biner as much when clipping.
Good value for a set of quickdraws
There are always sales going on, like 20% off here and there, but when are the "end of the season" sales?
just pickup the black diamond set that is on closeout now. 12 draws for like 100.
Light and reliable quickdraws
They have taken a beating and are really easy to clip and are light weight.
I prefer clipping wiregate over a traditional gate.
Big thick dogbone improves usability
No more twisting draws making things backclipped.
Solid design with key nose feature
Wire gates with hook noses are a pain all around on both sides, including if you're cleaning for a pink point.
A little more expensive than the ones you linked but you get a solid gate for the bolt side.
Satisfying gate snap sound
The way the gate snaps is super satisfying and the dogbone is nice and supple.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for wire gate quickdraws
Purchase the draws you like.
General opinions on the Djinn quickdraws
they're not the world's lightest draws, but they're super durable, and really easy to clip.
I think the gate is smoother on the Djinns but that could be totally subjective.
I find them easier to clip. When I hold the djinn I just feel like it is made better.
Discussion on keylock and nose hook features
keylock on bolt side for easier cleaning. Nose hook on rope side for lower chance of accidental un-clipping.
Preference for keylock biners
Keylock, Keylock, Keylock.
Ended up going with the all keylock set and this just reaffirmed my decision so thanks!
General discussion on quickdraw quality
As far as quality goes, all QuickDraws pretty much last the same.
The Petzl Spirit is one of the best designed carbineers their is!!
Discussion about knife features and quality
Overall, I feel it's a great knife for its price point and I will update after some use
Straight up Ultratech clone.
not a carbide, but a ceramic glass breaker

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Advice on placing quickdraws for optimal use
With the gates facing the same direction, if you pay attention to which side of the bolt you are climbing on, you can place the draw so that only the spines of the biners will be against the rock.
Preference for having quickdraws already hung
I prefer my draws already hung.
Comments on the use of quickdraws in alpine climbing
Lightweight dynema and wiregate Alpine draws for ice, mixed, and alpine climbing.
It makes sense to cut weight or have the ability to cut weight but at least for me.
Acknowledgment of using borrowed gear for beginners
If you're deadset on getting something I'd get a 70m rope because at some point before you retire it you're probably going to want to a 30m route, which is becoming pretty common.

General advice on quickdraw brands and features
Quickdraw brand recommendation Hey guys! I am going to start outdoor climbing soon. As for beginner, is there any quickdraw brand recommended as i found out the price varies quite alot brand to brand.
Any major brand is fine and there isn't any real difference. If I had to guess it is size and type of gate or that'll vary the price more.
This 0 There are actually 0 make or break features on QDs, only preference
All of them have to pass a certification, choose a good brand. Thicker dogbone is better for grabbing = for sport climbing. Thinner is lighter and better for multipitches, long approaches, for alpine. It's good to throw in two longer draws in case of wandering route so avoid rope drag.
Affordability and performance of CAMP Orbit quickdraws
CAMP Orbit quickdraws are usually reasonably priced and have worked great for me for sport climbing.
Value of Keynose quickdraws
Keynose are worth the money. The rest is just style.
Discussion on preferences for different quickdraw types
Gotcha, didn’t know if wiregate is easier to clip or vice versa.
I prefer solid gate because they feel like the open smoother to me, but it really doesn’t matter.
Plus more shit to get snagged in your screws is annoying.
Comparison of quickdraw prices and features
What are the main things to be looking at when buying them, and how much of a difference the extra 15 € makes?
General preferences for quickdraw brands
Petzl djinn are great too.
I just look for sales and am not really brand loyal (target is $10/draw).
If anyone is on a tighter budget and is willing to wait for a sale on some cheap but solid quickdraws, every so often on amazon The Gear Coop puts a 5-pack of camp wire gate quickdraws on sale.
Spirits are awesome. If you are a wire-gate guy though OP I would get the BD Livewires.
General advice on climbing gear preferences
help/review with buying quick draws
really helpful website.
Advice on replacing webbing for quickdraws after 5 years
I assume that I need to buy some runners.
People tend to use thicker dogbones for sport as they quite often end up pulling on them when redpointing routes, thin and light ones for trad as the gear is less likely to be used to pull on.
They keep the gates oriented the right way, and will stay more organized on your harness.
If it was used for 5 years straight or kept in the car for 5 years, then yes.
Comparison of different quickdraw brands
They're on sale at bentgate right now. Theyre significantly cheaper at the sale price, but their shape is slightly different then the bd biners
Discussion about replacing carabiners in quickdraws
Can you put different carabiners in a quickdraw (aka swap them out for new ones)?
you can replace the carabiners on a quickdraw usually without issue, unless the rubber band that secures the rope side biner is too tight for the spine of the new biner to fit through.
Comparison of Petzl Spirits for sport climbing
thanks! I was also eyeing up the Spirits as well but I don't know if he'd prefer the bent or straight gates
General caution against buying ropes from Amazon
Whatever you do, just don’t buy ropes off Amazon.
Preference for specific reputable brands for climbing gear
Buy whatever is on sale and fits your needs.
For a rope: Get a 70m 9.8mm from a reputable brand like Mammut, Edelrid, or Sterling.
Advice on the number of quickdraws to purchase
Hindsight I wish I bought more slings but that's a preference thing, my bud that mostly boulders hates slings

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Advice on using quickdraws safely
be very aware that if you step above the anchor, an actual fall could seriously damage the sling, the bolt, the harness and your body.
So when you fall directly on a sling it is likely going to rip/snap.
never, ever climb above the fixed pro when doing so as a fall could result in major damage to you or the static gear.
Concerns about quickdraws getting nose-hooked
I've had a few bad experiences with them getting nose hooked when I really needed them to come off.
Personal preference for wire gates vs traditional
Sounds like the beal's draws are a very good option for me.
