Snoop's Take

The CAMP Alpine Express Dyneema Quickdraw 60cm 4 Pack is designed for climbers seeking lightweight and versatile gear for alpine adventures. Equipped with two Photon Wire carabiners and a 10 mm x 60 cm Dyneema runner, these quickdraws enhance performance while minimizing weight. Consumers have positively highlighted the thoughtful packaging that ensures no damage during transit, with one user noting, "Packaging was great, I'd say on-par with any of the best like Rogue." Additionally, the snag-free biners and keylock design have been praised for their ease of use and cleaning, making them a preferred choice among climbers. However, some have pointed out that the thin dogbone may lead to backclipping, particularly for beginners. Overall, the CAMP Alpine Express Dyneema Quickdraws are recommended for climbers looking for reliable and lightweight quickdraws, especially when considering the positive feedback regarding their functionality and value during sales.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Great packaging and no damage during transit
Packaging was great, I'd say on-par with any of the best like Rogue. No damage in transit, thoughtfully padded and secured.
Overall positive experience with QuickDraws
Overall i really like them, only complaints would be I had to paint the numbers white myself, and the max limit of 60lb is somewhat low for a few exercises.
Reasonable pricing of CAMP Orbit quickdraws
CAMP Orbit quickdraws are usually reasonably priced and have worked great for me for sport climbing.
Snag-free biners enhance unclip ease
having a snag-free biner is awesome for when you extend it.
Preference for clean nose biners for easier cleaning
Having the nose not make as an aggressive "hook" makes it so that you don't have to twist the biner as much when clipping.
Keylock design aids in cleaning
keylock on bolt side for easier cleaning. Nose hook on rope side for lower chance of accidental un-clipping.
Great value during sales
Less than $5 for a quickdraw! (Or, $2.50 per biner...and a dogbone).
Thanks I snagged the last one

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Various preferences in quickdraw features
Any major brand is fine and there isn't any real difference.
There are actually 0 make or break features on QDs, only preference.
All of them have to pass a certification, choose a good brand.
Petzl Spirit Express are my favorite and generally the highest rated on review sites I have found.
Variety of preferences in quickdraw features
Purchase the draws you like.
Keynose are worth the money.
General preferences for quickdraw brands and features
I make sure all of my draws have key lock instead, that provides the same function as the hood wire.
just pickup the black diamond set that is on closeout now.
Spirits are awesome.
Discussion about nylon strap preferences
Nylon generally lighter and allows sweat to evaporate reducing skin marks and irritation.
User experiences with gear
I will say off the top that the BD Oz package is a great option and will save you a few dollars per draw.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Price variations impact quality perception
What are the main things to be looking at when buying them, and how much of a difference the extra 15 € makes?
Discussion about sales and discounts for quickdraws
There are always sales going on, like 20% off here and there, but when are the 'end of the season' sales?
If anyone is on a tighter budget and is willing to wait for a sale on some cheap but solid quickdraws, every so often on amazon The Gear Coop puts a 5-pack of camp wire gate quickdraws on sale.
Preference for 17cm quickdraws over shorter options
Get all 17s. You can use them to extend each other if it ever comes up.
Get all 17s.
Another vote for mostly 17cm.
Discussion on the benefits of longer quickdraws for reducing rope drag
They significantly reduce rope drag compared to the usual 12cm draws with almost zero handling downsides.
They're also nice on reducing rope drag when alpines seem a bit overkill.
General advice on selecting quickdraws
Quickdraw quick help Hello, I want to buy my first set of quickdraws (for both indoor &outdoor).
for sport climbing, get any mid-range quickdraw from a reputable brand.
As a new climber, you won't notice any real difference between the fanciest, most expensive draws and the cheapest, most barebones.
Unless you have a specific need, like wiregate for icy conditions, just buy the best value deal you can get from any reputable company.
Comparison with other brands
I get a prodeal and still don't feel a need to replace anything because I climb exactly as hard with fancy stuff as I do my 15 year old stuff.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Curiosity about technology used in other gym products
Yeah that was interesting to learn! Now I'm curious how many other gym products have this tech as well.
Concerns about product age despite being new
As the title goes, I bought a brand new set of Camp Proton quick draws on Amazon and now im looking at them and I realized they say manufacturered in 2017.
Discussion on quickdraw failures and safety
I had a quickdraw carabiner break on me during a lead fall last weekend (Details in comment).
This definitely looks like it was nose-hooked or otherwise loaded in a weird way on the hanger.
Black Diamond has a QC lab on this, and pattern of failure on OP biner matches.
Nose hook all day. Especially on those camp large basket carabiners, quite the lever arm there if it gets caught up.
