Snoop's Take

The Gillette Sensor3 Sensitive Men's Disposable Razor is designed for men seeking a gentle yet effective shaving experience. With its three skin sensing blades and enhanced Lubrastrip, this razor promises up to 10 gentle shaves per unit, making it a popular choice among consumers looking for affordability and comfort. Consumer feedback highlights the razor's ability to provide a "comfortable shave experience," with many users noting that it delivers a smooth and irritation-free shave. Despite some concerns about blade performance and occasional irritation, the overall sentiment leans positively as users appreciate its affordability compared to other options. As one user pointed out, "the shave is just surreal, it gives a nice close shave and no razor burn or any sign of irritation." Given the positive feedback regarding its comfort and affordability, the Gillette Sensor3 Sensitive Men's Disposable Razor is recommended for those in search of a reliable disposable razor that combines gentleness and effectiveness in its category.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Affordable option for a mild shave
It’s fairly ubiquitous and not terribly expensive.
Comfortable shave experience
I have no issue with comfort. The one I have been using shaves pretty close and my skin is never irritated.
Razor burn, razor bumps, feels goooood on the face, smoothest shave ever next to a straight razor, my cheeks feel baby butt smooth.
The shave is just surreal, it gives a nice close shave and no razor burn or any sign of irritation and baring in mind this is their standard blade not even the sensitive one.
Gentle and effective shave
I also have the Gillette Guard and after using it, I must say that it does not shave anywhere near as well as the SkinGuard.
Less likely to clog than other razors
The Sensor Excel is my favorite Gillette cartridge. The Skinguard is good also, I find it less likely to clog than the Sensor.
Affordable compared to other Fusion blades
Personally my favorite Gillette cartridge ever made is the Gillette Sensor.
Provides a smooth shave experience
Found a 2 blade Gillete disposable decided to use it. Damn Smooth too!
I paired it with my new shave gel and it worked damn good I would say.
Good quality shave with Mach3 cartridges
with cartridge razors its easy to be lazy which is okay cause its nice to just wake up and do a quick shave sometimes
Add to that the virtuously endless supply of scent profiles to try, small businesses to support, and amazing community to be a part of and I don't feel a need to return to the cartridge razor sphere.
It's like vinyl vs digital music. It's worse by nearly every metric, except for the nice ritual that makes you focus on the moment.
Enjoyment in learning and using traditional shaving techniques
I will say i do now much prefer shave soap and lather over canned shaving cream.
Convenient for quick shaves
I know I can shave and wont accidently slice my face open

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Irritation from using aggressive razor
No effect on the irritation though. Aftershave burned the face.
This irritation actually makes aftershave burn the face.
Inconsistent blade performance
Check if one side feels mild and other aggressive..Use the milder smoother side.
Blades are overpriced
the blades are really overpriced.
BIC blades can be abrasive
I have no problems with BIC. Sometimes they feel a little abrasive on the first go.
Bic sucks balls
Issues with counterfeit BIC blades
The real ones are extremely sharp and smooth.
Not as close of a shave as cartridge razors
the shave isn’t nearly as close as the Mach5.
Requires a different technique for effective use
Couple of thoughts.
Ineffective for coarse hair
3 blades can’t even cut my facial hair, even if I steam my face and apply shaving cream
Overpriced compared to alternatives
Personally, I find the new Gillette stuff to be overpriced.
Causes razor burn and bumps for some users
Many people get razor bumps or burn with the Fusion. Which is why they came out with the SkinGuard.
High price for brand cartridge refills
the main hate is the price for the Main Brand cartridge refills.
Cartridges becoming worse over time
The Mach3 is actually getting worse year by year.
High cost of cartridges compared to DE razors
I couldn't disregard the cost factor because it's a huge selling point.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Double edge safety razors are considered high-quality and long-lasting
Double edge safety razors are the pinnacle of shaving technology to the extent that cheap Chinese knockoff handles are BIFL.
Safety razor + blades is truly BuyItForLife! I switched several years ago.
Discussion on the marketing of double edge razors
If you saw the double edge razor, you wouldn’t think it’s from Gillette because there is no big noticeable iconic text that they use for their 5 blades.
Blade preferences vary greatly among users
Today I shaved with BIC blades for the first time and got possibly the worst results with them.
They work great for me, feels super sharp like a Feather.
Bics were above average but not as good Feathers or Personna Lab Blues.
I used a BIC today and mentally told myself...boy if I had to pick one blade for life this would be it...
Discussion on sustainability and plastic reduction
Sounds better and more sustainable.
Modern blades fit older Gillette razors
The blades seemed to have a more rounded shape back then compared to the rectangular blades of today
Modern blades were designed to fit older razors
The overall shape is still the same. Modern blades will work fine in a vintage razor.
Modern blades work great in it.
Discussion on the razors and blades business model
Razors and blades model – why Gillette did not implement it
It had to be something market practice related IMO.
I ended up using Gillette cartridges for about 10 years before switching to king of shaves cartridges, then double-edged another 10 years later.
Comparison to King C Gillette blades
I would expect the blades to be one of Gillette's own products out of Russia, most likely the Gillette Platinum since the box mentions a platinum coating.
Discussion about the design of the razor head
That head looks very much like the DE-89 head.
Discussion about ownership and production of Gillette blades
Complete list of Gillette manufactured double edge razor blades Hey guys, I'm trying to put a list together of all the current DE razor blades that Gillette makes or owns.
"Makes or owns" is a little unclear. I don't think Gillette makes any DE blades.
Since you seem to know what you're talking about, can I assume that all the PPI blades are the same?
Not even close. They are very, very different. I really like Gillette Silver Blues and Polsilver SIs, but Astra SPs - not so much.
Discussion on blade coatings and their effects
Theoretically, this affects how smooth and durable the final product is.
Is one typically sharper or stronger than another?
Is there a best or is it skin type? There are also a yellow one, super 7?
As everyone says, you gotta try them for yourself and evaluate.
Discussion on the mechanics of multi-blade razors
The only thing multiple blades do is trap hair and make themselves useless before they're even dull.
Discussion on the history of Gillette razors
Gillette Good News disposables were renamed to Sensor disposables a while ago.
Shaving rituals and their importance in the shaving experience
For some people, it doesn’t matter. But people aren’t biased…we all started with cartridges and ended up here for a reason.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Tips for using safety razors include using light pressure and the weight of the handle
Don't push down
Interest in finding vintage razors from specific years
In the wet shaving community, the holy grail is to find a Gillette made in your birth year and quarter.
Thank you I have just learned my safety razor I've used for the last 10 years is a 53 2nd quarter.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Using a safety razor can reduce long-term razor costs
I also use my grandpa's Fatboy, but I find it's hard to get a good shave on my head with it.
Safety razors are perceived as harder to use but are more intuitive
Pieces of my face. Because I don't know how to use a safety razor.
It’s way more intuitive than it seems and as long as you don’t go sideways as you shave, you’re good
Discussion on shaving techniques like riding the guard
I find that riding the guard is better practice if you have an aggressive razor like the Stirling.
Steep angle shaving as shown in that link is the same as riding the guard.
Availability issues for safety razors
Every time I go to a super market like Walmart or Target, the safety razors are on the bottom shelf and there's usually only one stocked.
Suggestion to switch to safety razors for better shaves
You will get a better shave and diminish your reliance on disposable bulky plastic razors.
Switch to a safety razor! No plastic just razor blades
Learning curve involved in using safety razors
Shaving with a DE is a skill.
It is normal to do a couple of passes with a safety razor.
Shaving techniques impact results
Maybe try hot towelling before you shave if you ever do decide to use a cartridge again.
Comparisons with safety razors
A light drag across the skin is all that is needed.
Comparisons with other Gillette blades
They are also quite cheap.
They’re not bad blades though.
Discussion on switching brands for cost savings
Cheapest place to buy Gillette razor reffils
Switching to another brand (Dorco) will yield much more significant savings than trying to find Gillette on sale somewhere.
Discussion about the longevity of razors based on storage conditions
Can't say this for everyone, but I'm pretty sure my cartridge razors weren't lasting is because they lived in a steamy bathroom that was getting used for three to four showers a day.
Comments on transitioning from DE razors to disposable
It is the gentlest razor I have ever used and still cuts pretty well.
Discussion on the time required for different shaving methods
most of us just never really learned how to shave.
Discussion on the cost-effectiveness of safety razor blades
There was this box of Derby's on amazon for like $13 Canadian monopoly money. It's like 13 cents a shave. It's so cheap.
Comparison of cartridge and DE razors' performance
They’re worse for your skin as well.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Safety razors provide a better shave than disposables
Honestly I thought the same and then I tried it and I’ll never go back.
Different blades work better with aggressive razors
I find they help with aggressive razors & are good for beginners.
I find V12 & Pro 500 work for me.
Laser Ultra is a much better blade for this razor, than the 7'o' clock SP.
Experiences with safety razors leading to cuts
Tbh my experience was a lot of blood - especially when in a hurry.
Discussion about various blade brands and their similarities
I have thick hair, and I only shave every other day, so I need some **sharp** blades.
7'O Clocks Black, Nacet and Platinums are very similar if not the same.
One is made by PPI in Russia, the other by Gillette in India.
My favorite are Gillette super blue, not to be confused with the silver blues.
Discussion about blade preferences varies widely
Cheaper and a better shave.
I generally prefer a single blade razor, at least for the first pass, but if tired, ill, or hungover, I do use a cartridge razor.
Discussion on the origins of KCG blades
You may safely assume that KCG blades are made in the same P&G operation that makes all the Gillette branded blades.
I just looked at the back of the box and they say they are made in China.
Interest in unboxing and review videos
Initially I only saw the unboxing video pop up on YouTube and thought to myself, "I need the full Cosmo review, too".
I popped the unboxing video up and then played with the thing for a while before getting around to using it and writing something up.
Confusion regarding the relaunch and branding of Gillette razors
Best multiblade cartridge razor out there.
Safety razors are often recommended for better shaving results
Best shave I’ve ever had and blades are like 20¢
Look at safety razors too. That review by Sharp is deeply flawed.
Discussion on the bias against cartridge razors
I think that's just biased opinions.
