What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Good optical image stabilization
the Lumix G95 with the 12-60mm lens a nice starting point, or is there a better option out there that I'm missing?
Excellent color rendering from Leica lenses
Yes, the 25mm f1.4 has really excellent colors, especially on the GH6 and G9II.
Better color and micro-contrast are what I notice most about the Leica branded lenses.
Sharpness and build quality of Leica lenses
It's so sharp, with good range, and I love what it renders.
Their lenses have a very nice balance between beautiful bokeh, excellent sharpness, beautiful color reproduction and overall a slight hint of vintage character.
Good for beginners
Lumix G85 seemed like a good purchase even though everyone around me asked me to get a Sony or Canon.
+1 for G85 is cheap and a good beginner's camera plus has a good set of lenses.
Affordable and compact system
M43 has smaller glass, and thus, better quality lenses are more affordable.
Footage quality is excellent
Footage looks beautiful! And why wouldn't it?
not some random lut thst just happens to work okay for most clips... Am I wrong?
Good performance for low light photography
That lens is very good, so I think the blurriness is probably due to camera shake, like the others have said.
Good value for the price
Thoughts on Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm II I'm looking for opinions from people that have or currently
I actually think it's quite a decent lens and a tremendous value.
it gives you an unparallel range at this price and size.
Sharp results at mid-range focal lengths
Tack sharp results.
Compact and lightweight design
I often miss my smaller and lighter m43 kit, especially when it comes to the size and weight of lenses.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
User interface may be less friendly
The menu wasnt really user friendly plus they would overheat and shutdown frequently.
Blurry images due to lack of image stabilization
that’s why most of my photos end up a bit blurry..
i think most panasonic lenses that have built in stabilization are lenses with 30mm and above fl.
Camera shake affects image quality
Shoot at speeds of 1/100 or faster, or use a tripod.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about camera features and preferences
I think the best lens for him will be the olympus 12-50 f3.5-5.6 ed ez macro, as it is weather sealed and we kinda need that.
I am very very happy with it, but I am not interested in video so I have not tried it.
I can say that I really prefer olympus (I run an em5 iii).
I honestly can’t recommend this camera enough.
Conversation about different lens options for Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX
I love this lens. It is small, light, compact, versatile.
the 20mm side of the kit lens is actually very good for vlogging.
Discussion about personal experiences with Panasonic and Olympus
For the photography I do, Olympus is the better option for me.
Discussion about the size and weight of LUMIX lenses
Assuming you mean L-Mount, the flange distance and thread size of that mount are both large compared
Both have pretty compact options.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about using vintage lenses
i am in love with the bokeh and the look overall.
I'd like to try Mirrorless.
they are getting ridiculously cheap though and are small enough to take anywhere.
Conversation about the usefulness of lens adapters
Thank you so much! Very helpful ♥️
Discussion about shooting techniques for stabilization
If they're moving around erratically, say chickadees, I don't drop below 1/1000s at all.
You should still get a pretty good result even without stabilization.
If your shutter speed is faster than 1/100, then the lack of stabilization is probably not the issue.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about preferred lenses for Lumix cameras
Would like to get more lenses for it at some point so if anyone has an good lens suggestions that would be amazing.
It’s probably my favorite lens on the system, so incredibly compact for the images you get.
The 42.5 is beautiful. And tiny.
To me the best combo for this camera.
Discussion on lens recommendations for beginners
Is this a good beginner's zoom?
As I understand it the Olympus IBIS is very good (for this vintage), so I would use that over the lens.
If you like the lenses you have, Z30, obviously!
Comparison of different zoom lenses
I have bought version 3 and I am very happy with it as a "do it all" lens.
Discussion about lens adapters and their compatibility
Lens are so expensive too.
that's obnoxiously cheap for a good quality FF prime.
Just Google an adapter, find a used lens on keh, usedphotopro, or eBay.
Comments on the affordability of lenses
both the PL 12-60 and Olympus 12-40 push me out of the $700 budget unfortunately.
Discussion on lens compatibility with different camera mounts
Assuming the lens you use on the gh5 is M43 no it wont work on L mount (s5iix)
3rd party lenses have IBIS issues.
Discussion about camera capabilities and learning curve
Olympus vs Panasonic? From what I've heard and read in a lot of YouTube videos and on Reddit respectively - my understanding is that Olympus is better for stills than Panasonic.
Most cameras made in the past 6~7 years are far beyond the capabilities of most photographers.
But most people will not really notice those things in real life use.
Excellent advice. And buy used, because as you say, cameras even 10 years old are far more than what we even want out of them.
Discussion on the importance of trying different brands
In the end it doesn't really matter with which camera a picture is taken.
Considerations for beginner photographers
the point is to work **with** the gear, instead of letting gear dictate what you can or cannot do.
Of course a donkey can run, doesn't mean it can compete with a thoroughbred horse.
Debate on camera brand preferences
the camera will do more that you need for several years.
The GX8 is one of my favorite cameras of all time, and it is the one I grab when I don't want to carry the weight of the Nikon.
Discussion on the price of LUMIX lenses compared to other brands
Why are Lumix lenses so expensive and heavy compared to other leading brands?
The only complaint I have is the price of some of the LUMIX 2.8 zooms are pricey compared to sigma.
The costs seem comparable to me, seemingly more affordable on the Lumix end in cases.
Discussion on using Nikon lenses with Lumix cameras
How to Use Nikon Lenses on a Lumix Camera? I'm really interested in getting the Lumix S1H but my mom
It would be such a waste of money to buy a non-Nikon camera and a bunch of lenses when I already have plenty!
Works great. Pretty much any Nikon lens will work perfectly well.
Discussion about lens ecosystems and affordability
some of the lens ecosystems are more expensive, even much more expensive.
this is a huge hidden cost for "cheap" mirrorless lenses.
Autofocus will work, but will be slower than native.
Fuji is probably the cheapest option when you add up lenses and the knickknack.
Considerations about adapting lenses between different camera systems
So for example if i buy sony a6100, you recommend me to buy canon ef lenses for it?
Do i lose any features (example lens image stabilization or focus) of my ef lenses when put on sony with the adapter?
I think that the micro-4/3 ecosystem has a lot of good lens options that are still moderate cost.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on different types of lenses and their uses
Depends on your use case. Street? Wildlife? Portraits? Product? Etc
Comments on specific lens brands and experiences
I’ve bought 2 TTArtisan lenses that I’m really happy with.
Discussion on Leica vs. Olympus lenses
Are the Leica Panasonic lenses all that? Question's in the title.
The Leica branded lenses for Lumix are worth the money.
Discussion about editing V-Log footage
If I use the official Panasonic Varicam to 709 LUT than it turns out pretty ugly green.
