Its MBA graduates looking for short term profits.
I like a pour over and I car/campervan camp with enough gear to survive two apocalypses.
Stanley stuff is clunky and sturdy, looking like it will almost last forever, then doesn't.
Easy to clean and reusable
It’s very easy to clean, and you just need a way to boil water to get coffee.
I bought a reusable metal filter so I don't need to phaff about with the paper ones any more.
it’s $50....could a small glass blowing shop could make a few of these per hour and sell them and make it worth while?
Helps extract coffee's aromatic oils
It absolutely swallows a Wave 185 filter. This is a big brewer.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on plastic-free coffee makers
Plastic-free coffee makers? I realized recently that my beloved daily cup of coffee is probably full of microplastics due to the hot liquid passing through so many plastic parts.
Not sure about automatic machines, but a Moka pot or a Chemex pourover would be completely plastic free if you’re open to a new brewing method!
Glass French press! Bonus that it’s great for minimalism / taking up less space!
Discussion about pour over coffee community and culture
Welcome to pour over, bitch!
Who the hell are these people??

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on outdoor coffee brewing methods
while my current v60 setup is fine for the house, I don't want to use glassware outside.
I find Aeropress Go really convenient outdoor.
Works great!
Discussion on instant coffee alternatives for camping
I’m looking hard at the Jetboil Flash with the “upgraded” coffee press. I like how it all packs in to one dish for storage.
Sworn by instant coffee since I got a package from a trail angel about 7-8yrs ago. Cuts down on equipment and is much faster.
I can’t tell much of a difference from press coffee I make at home.
Buy a whole tin of it for $7-$9 to save money if you drink a lot. Trader Joe's has even better instant "cold brew" coffee.
Preference for Aeropress for coffee brewing
Recently switched to aeropress. Best coffee I have had. So good that I can actually drink it black and easy clean up.
I use an aeropress and a cheap ass Amazon backpacking stove.
Like pretty much everyone else, I actually think the aeropress is the better option considering the type of coffee you want to make and that it seems to be just for you.
Discussion on hacking the coffee maker with different filters
Going to try some different filters and see how this hacked stanley will brew.

Discussion on pour over brewing methods
Best pour over dripper and filters? I’ve been doing pour over a few years but I’ve only ever used a Hario V60 dripper and Hario filters.
Go on your journey spending hundreds of dollars on different brewers just to circle back to the V60 in the end like so many of us do.
This is the way
Small differences, but ultimately V60 is the GOAT. At like $20 you can have a dripper and 100 filters and make fantastic coffee.
Complexity of pour over techniques
I make pour over coffee most mornings and I have no idea what a lot of this is.
A brief intro/how to use this site would be good to have as a landing page.
going to upvote, pretend I understand what those names and methods mean, and refill from my flat-bottomed filter coffee maker
I thought I loved pour over coffee until I saw this and realized I'm minor league, maybe even little league.
Desire for simpler instructions
Hey sorry about that , I know it could be more intuitive
Reaction to brewing techniques and audience knowledge
This guy looks like who doesn’t know anything! No blooming, he complains about having to wait for the coffee to filter dry 😂

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about Vietnamese coffee drippers
Effectively "solved". What I'm looking for might be called a "Vietnamese coffee dripper" or a "Phin Filter".
Your original looks like an "updated" version of a Phin Filter, a Vietnamese type of pour over brewer.
Yeah that might be the closest equivalent, thanks.
The whole point of the OP's original product is that it does not require paper filters, and it works beautifully.
